I think people who don't dress their babies in real clothes (not p.j.s) are ridiculous. The excuse that baby is more comfortable in pjs is also ridiculous. If you go out in public, put clothes on your kid. (there is a lady at our playgroup with a baby 2 weeks younger than daughter and I have YET to see him in anything but pjs.)

My husband would have our son in nothing but pjs and gladly take him out in pjs. I always change him before we go out. In the house it's pjs or a onesie and maybe pants though.
I don't see the point of changing the baby to go out. Baby pajamas are often called sleep and play for a reason. They are good to sleep and play in. Obviously if we are going to a party or something like that, of course I put the baby in an outfit but to run errands or to go to playgroup once in a while I see nothing wrong with keeping the baby in the sleep and plays assuming they are clean and the same ones are not being worn two, three, four days in a row. It's cold where I live so I want the baby to be warm and comfortable. If we were in the middle of summer, I would definitely change her but I think it's all about being comfortable in the winter time. Eta: I actually do change my daughter almost every days., Even if we stay inside because I only have four pairs of fleece sleep and plays for her so she often wears the same one to bed for two or three nights in a row. I don't want her to get them dirty during the day.
I'm really digging not knowing who the fuck anyone is with this awesome avatar Glitch on TB. It's like playing guess who muthafuckahs
NOT
At least a lot of the regs still have siggys to distinguish them by. But I wonder what the malfunction is that the avatar pics are gone. Cause even those keep changing, I've seen rings, champagne glasses & now cake.
I hate baby socks, so hell yes I'll send my son to daycare in a sleeper. He's a baby...he'll have plenty of time for wearing real clothes. Once it gets warmer and he doesn't need socks I'll be happy to put him in a onesie and pair of pants/shorts.
I think the majority of Lactation Consultants are ignorant and over payed.
I've learned more by nursing 3 kids than most seem to know after years of training. I've been on a frantic search for a good one but the only certified one is 3 hours away thanks to living in the middle of nowhere. I actually had one lady tell me that tongue ties don't exist and silent AR was basically made up by a doctor to extract money from insurance companies. Another told me that pumping before my milk came in was pointless. I've been less than satisfied with my experiences.
I feel terrible for you.
I loved my LC. She was so sweet and worked with Lux's pedi and talked to my husband (also a MD) about how he could encourage me to BF and help with whatever he could (make me cookies, clean pump parts... ect...) She was such neat person that knew so much. I kind of miss her.
I can tell you as a fact that when LO wears pants he is more fussy. They squeeze his belly more. We have to put him in 9 months pants but then I have to roll the legs bc they are too long. I'll let him stay in his sleep and plays all day! They are more comfortable. Just like I don't like when my pants dig in my belly and I don't have a baby buddha belly anymore but LO does. (I just have a deflated tire)
I guess my UO is that I consider yoga pants pajamas. (I still wear them in public, and before having baby in daycare I was against her wearing PJs in public... now she goes to daycare in them sometimes). To each their own.
Yeah, I don't the pajama thing in public either, children or adults. I saw what appeared to be a 3-4 year old running around Costco in footed pajamas. What grossed me out was that I am convinced she was going to get back into bed with those same pajamas ::shivers:: Neither me or DS step out of the house in pajamas; he typically wears a onesie with the matching pants and Guavaboots (my new favorite thing) and I have a variety of black yoga pants that I wear for outings.
Never heard of Guavaboots before but I looked them up and I think I want some! DS has a terrible time keeping anything on his feet. The bubble booties socks from BRU used to work great, but now that he's gettng bigger and stronger he is able to kick those off as well. Thanks for getting me to spend more money on something for baby! Haha
My UO may not be all that unpopular, but I enjoy buying new clothes for DS more than for myself. I get so into it!

To me yoga pants are just slightly above pajamas. I'll wear them around the house but no way am I going anywhere in them (unless it's yoga class).
I don't care how you dress your baby. As long as it's weather appropriate and the baby is comfortable. It's none of my dog gone business. That being said, I won't let my LO wear pajamas in public.
I don't judge parents on their baby's wardrobe. If the baby is clean, wearing weather appropriate clothing and being cared for the parents are great in my mind! Outfits are cute (and I enjoy having LO wear them), but they are also completely unnecessary.
babies just need to be dressed in weather appropriate clothes that are clean and fit properly. I tell A all the time she can wear PJ's all day because she's a baby and can do as she pleases (yea, I have conversations with my four month old )
my UO- I don't follow all the "your baby's going to do this! omg!" stuff. all this four month wakeful shit, specific growth spurts, etc just doesn't do it for me. I signed on for a baby who I knew was likely to have wonky habits and go through random different personality, sleep and mood changes. I don't need some book to tell me when and what to expect... she might not go through these things and I don't see the point in psyching myself out.

To add to this, I don't think leggings are pants. You need something else on, not just some leggings!

IMO there is a big difference between the two. One looks like I could be on my way to work out (we all know I am not) or to my job at 24hr fitness and the other looks like I just rolled out of bed. I also don't wear tennis shoes, I rock my pants with Rainbows.
I know they are two different things and it's possible that the person could be on the way to the gym, but most people I see out in them just look sloppy. I wear yoga pants around the house, but if I'm going out I like to feel put together.
Leggings are only appropriate when wearing a tunic style sweater or shirt or something long that covers your butt. I see too many people wearing them with shirts that hit at the waist and it is so not attractive.
I don't understand why people wear jog pants around town, either. They're in the same class as PJs to me. Is it really that hard to put a pair of pants on? I am no girly girl, fashionista, etc. I don't wear makeup, my hair is always pulled back, I own two pants and two shirts (right now) aside from work clothes. But I would never be caught dead in jog pants or PJs out of the house.
I hate Elmo. I can't stand the way he talks in third person. I'm going to try my best to deter him from LO.

Me too!
Elmo is to Grover as Scrappy Doo is to Scooby Doo.
Me, three. DD1 doesn't watch much TV, but that is one I'm avoiding at all costs. She knows who Elmo is from books at daycare, and she asked to watch him once and I let her and she turned it off after just a minute and has never asked again. I think she thought he was annoying, too. I seriously counted that as a win.

I honestly couldn't tell you how other people dress their babies. I don't notice that at all. I can only picture the kids' faces at daycare, not the outfits. Except for leg warmers- those stand out to me and I think they're cute.
My UO is from when I was spending time on the names board. I hate it when people make fun of and deride people who choose creative spellings for names or create unique names. I think those who are hard core against names like that are exhibiting racism/classism.
Generally, I think you should STFU about someone's name choice unless they explicitly ask your opinion. And asking people to rank your name choices is not asking them to judge your names. It's asking them to put them in order of preference. I think that's a big difference.

You do see the irony in this statement, right? ----------------------------- Oh FFS.
If you're wearing leggings and your shirt isn't long enough to cover the visible cottage cheese, know that I'm secretly side-eyeing the hell out of you.
Also, jeggings. Wtf is that shit about?
I love jeggings... but only the ones that have a waist band/pockets/etc and look like real pants
I do judge when people use ridiculous spellings for common names just to make them stand out. Why does Ashley have to be spelled as AshLeee - it's still the same name you're just making it hard for the kid and i think parents like that are just talking to themselves.
I also wouldn't be caught out in my workout clothes unless i'm going out to work out. I wear leggings and jeggings all the time but i wear them as I would wear tights: long tunic, dress, sweater. Gotta cover the booty. I've seen way too many panties of all colors under too-stretched out leggings that are used as pants.
And finally, I think that anyone of any size can be beautiful and presentable if they just dress the right way for their body. I secretly want to fix so many people and their wardrobe especially when see the dreaded muffin top or even worse the camel toe. Just wear a size up and you wouldn't draw nearly as much attention to yourself.

Baby jeggings? Now those are unhateable
Agreed, my favorite jeans to wear with boots are my jeggings from American Eagle. They're basically like skinny jeans but tighter around the ankle so that you don't get that unattractive slack with boots.

I secretly want someone to fix my wardrobe. I have no clue how to dress myself with all the flab. I understand this is actually a confession, but clearly I break rules
happybride 276 Wish i could help! Virtual shopping trip? I often take my friends shopping and the only issue is that they end up buying more than they thought they were going to but they are happy
I think this is a UO because I'm not a very progressive person? IDK.
We got a box of six Charlie Banana cloth diapers in the mail yesterday. When I ordered, I saw that one of them was bright pink and I figured I'd just sell it and it wouldn't be too hard to do, since it's brand new and all. When I said that and show DH the diaper (which is BRIGHT pink), he was like, "Why can't he wear it?" I was like, "Uh, I don't know, it's pink?" Now he's insisting that we keep it and that it's fine for Caleb to wear it. It's not that big a deal to me for boys to wear pink (I know pink polos especially are really in and fashionable for guys, whatever). But I still feel weird putting this very bright pink diaper on my boy. But I'll do it, I guess. I don't know.

I wear leggings to work at least once a week. I wasn't paying a lot of money for work pants to (hope to) lose weight and at home pants.
