  • I think it's weird that people leave their shoes on inside.
I never wear shoes in my own home, but I dislike when people ask me to take off my shoes at their home.  I do because it's their place/their rules but it especially irritates me in the summer when I don't have socks on to walk around someone else's home barefoot.

  • I find myself side eyeing people who eat at chic-FIL-a. I'm sure the food is good, but I just can't deal with the policies and donations.
I feel exactly the opposite of this.  Even though I don't agree with their views, as long as their food is good (taste and quality), I don't see the problem.  I feel like sometimes we expect the whole package from everything when we are only paying them for a specific service.  For example, who cares if an athlete or an entertainer has horrible morals, they just need to be good at the sport/ movie/ show I am paying to watch.

And I hold a grudge against athletes/actors when they act like asses! I won't even draft them on my fantasy football team. I won't start boycotting you @monkeybutt80!
@Steamboat 1679  hell, if  (a big IF) Hernandez is acquitted and somehow gets back to playing football, I'd draft him.  And thanks to people like you, I probably could draft him real cheap.
I mean, Ray Lewis killed a guy....

  • Hmmm... I never think I have UO's but I guess I do!

I feel like if I have to dress up for an event/dinner at someones house I shouldn't have to take my shoes off! They are part of the outfit! Don't host a nice/fancy dinner if people can't wear their shoes! (Now if I'm just going to hang out with other Mom's and their LO's or something like that I understand!)

And I have no problems with home births.  Would I want one? No.  But in Canada you are only able to have one if you live within a certain distance from a hospital and between the Midwives and the paramedics it takes the same time from door to door for a emergency C-Section if needed.  At least this is my understanding.

I feel that this is my safe place to post anything should I need.  It's either post here or play violent video games that allow me to get out my aggression.  I don't like snapping at people...ever.  My life isn't sunshine and roses, but I do try to enjoy what I have because I have it, just like @nykkolaughs is trying to say.  My MIL's best friend suddenly lost her husband before the holidays.  It was a freak medicine mix situation.  She posted pics of her 5 year old daughter and 1 year old around Christmas time and all I could do is cry.  I have H, no matter how frustrated I get at how he acts.  Lily just added a level of communication that we didn't have and are working on.

My UO: I don't read or watch the news.  Occasionally, if I'm bored, I'll read something but rarely.  I feel that our world is already so full of sad or scary stuff and the news makes such a big deal out of every little bad thing.  They look for it all.  I want to hear a news cast about puppies.  BBC online does things like that.  I just read an interesting article on how anthropologists have found a bunch of the alternative ways babies were fed before the invention of formula.

    Edit: Spelling error.

Well darn.... @nykkolaughs Some of us have to work and get up with our baby super early in the morning and take our child to our outsourced childcare center... Kinda makes for a shitty day if you're not getting enough sleep AND you're expected to do a good job because your employer doesn't give a hoot if you're tired and have been up all night with a screaming/sleep regressing baby.

    And?
And sometimes is flucking frustrating and you feel isolated because no one gives two shits how you feel.

SAHM's wouldn't know anything about isolation or their boss not caring if they are tired or feeling well.
Not saying they don't feel that way, you asked and I gave an answer from my perspective.
  • No offense to jan and Cindy, they are just the two that stuck out as having their own strong opinions on things

My uo: I don't think home births are a good idea. I get the idea behind it and everything, but it is just such a risk, IMO. I wanted a natural, med-free birth, and I got it! At the hospital! Where if something went wrong, they could help right away! I could just never forgive myself if I had a home birth, something went wrong, or the baby needed help, and didn't get it in time. (I have always had this uo, but it was reinforced over the holidays when family friends, who had an amazingly perfect/healthy pregnancy, had a home birth and lost their baby. I know of at least 2 other people who have had major problems during a home birth that could have been taken care of at the hospital.)
I totally agree. Alex wouldn't have made it if I had him at home. He wasn't breathing and had to be intibated. 75 years ago, neither of us would have made it. It's just not worth the risk. My UO: stop giving my kid stuff!! We have NO room for it in our apartment and he doesn't need so many noisy annoying toys!
    +1
Couldn't have said it better myself. We also live in an apartment- and my living room is taken over by toys! Half of them are still in our storage unit a mile down the road!

My friends sat down and played black jack with JayZ. :/

Most won't let you. I had my camera out one time, and they told me to put it away.
  • I don't think it's that people don't want her to have her own opinion, I think people just want to feel something a little more real as opposed to something that feels fake. I really don't care, I just know no one has it perfectly. There's also a difference between "telling it like it is" and making people feel shitty for their decisions, example: Daycare is outsourcing? Please. Some don't have a choice.
  • @wasnotwas I feel very violated that the J in my name isn't capitalized and Cindy's is... :((

Really it should have been JAN

I know you probably aren't asking for an actual answer but this is why there are two midwives that attend every birth. One for mom and one for baby. So one can be intubating and providing oxygen for the infant while the other performs rescue operations on the mother.

And they can also administer pitocin should there be a hemorrhage.

What if the baby needs both oxygen, intubation, AND chest compressions at the same time? Seen it happen MANY times.

Totally agee. If I had had a home birth my LO and I would be dead. I had a very typical low risk pregnancy and delivery was a shit show. Anything can happen. Having an extra midwife and pitocin wouldn't have helped.

Had my daughter been born at home, she would have drowned. They spent over an hour suctioning out her lungs and she needed oxygen. Have a home birth if you want, but having my child in a hospital saved her life.

    Oh, and I had midwives.
