I am taking over the check in for MrsHamon09. I hope Thursdays work well for everyone.
This is a group designed for all the ladies in the various stages of waiting after a loss: waiting to miscarry, waiting for AF to arrive, waiting to TTC again, and waiting for a BFP. Since this process is such a true test in patience, it is nice to have the support and friendship of other women going through similar experiences and emotions.

-Check in is every Thursday - New members: Post an intro and your current TTC status. - Current members: Post updates, link to your chart, upcoming appointments, prayer requests. - Weekly check-in's will include an inspirational quote or verse and a question of the day (QOTD).

I look forward to getting to know you!

Love,Megrae12

  • Thanks @megrae12 for running this check-in.  And congrats to @MrsHamon09 on your BFP! FX for you!

    AFM: I'm doing better - a little bit every day.  I'm currently waiting for my 1st post MC AF - totally unsure of when to expect her, but hoping it's sooner rather than later.

    QOTW: ***Warning - older children and young step-sister mentioned***

    My New Year's was fun - I took photos of the fireworks we set off with our boys at my MIL's house.  Got some great shots, too.  I love nighttime photography, but since we live in the city limits, it's hard to capture the depth of the darkness that you get when you're way out in the boonies (like my IL's are).  I'm looking forward to my photography business growing, our 9th anniversary, and a BFP once I'm off the bench.

  • @megrae12 Thanks for the welcome! I'm doing okay, we moved to a different state this summer and I'm not used to the harsh winters here (I went from NorCal to ND) and I'm definitely going stir crazy. I got AF on Sunday so now we're just waiting for that to finish before TTC again.
    Wow, that move is crazy! I could not imagine! I am glad AF came, are you excited to TTC again?

    I love that you do photography, I have a mild interest in it and get lucky on some shots. I want to get a good camera and really get into it, but I like wildlife photography and landscape more than portraits. I hope AF shows soon, although, after loss flows are really wonky and never seem cooperate.

    Hi!  The TWW is making me INSANE!!!!!  I couldn't wait and tested today.  I am clearly going to need more HPTs to accommodate my crazy.  Looked pretty negative to me, but my brain were like "Line? Line? Line?" with me twisting it every which way.  I am only 8dpo so it's still very early.  Trying to be optimistic, but it's difficult.  Bleh.  On the bright side, I get to distract myself with shopping!  I have a fair amount of Christmas money to buy myself things.

    @racegurl87 I feel you on the weather thing.  We moved from central Texas to the front range in CO.  It's been a shock and while I am glad we moved (too humid, hot, and I'm allergic to everything in TX), I'm struggling with the cold, snow, and ice.

    QOTW: We had a very nice, low key New Year's Eve.  Hung out by a bonfire listening to music, watched an amazing firework display, and had a delicious dinner.  Went to bed at 10.  Ha.  I am really looking forward to joining the home owner's club this year.  Hopefully we'll find a house and be moved in by May.  :)

  • Hello! Hope everyone is doing well ((hugs)) to you all!
    Thanks for taking over for her!
    Temping for me just started this week. I did it Monday but I think it was wrong since I got up and moved around first (read 97.8). Then I stayed in bed and temped on Tuesday and got a 97.1 reading. I think that's where I am supposed to be. But yesterday I didn't temp since I was up till 3am on New Years! So this morning I did it again and read 97.2. I'm hoping I can get the hang of this fast! I'm only on CD9. I'm setting my FF chart up now which is pretty easy.

    @megrae12 what a climate shock!

    QOTW: My New Years was calm and relaxing. We had my parents over for game night and enjoyed a yummy dinner. One thing I am looking forward to is moving forward and HOPEFULLY starting our family. Docs said we are both healthy and good to go. FX!

    i just received aygestin to hopefully induce a period. we're officially TTC after that but seeing as i *may* have PCOS i am expecting there could be a delay in being successful since evidently i do not ovulate correctly! idk i figure i will keep up with temping and see.

  • Hi Ladies!  @megrae12 - thanks for taking over the check-in.  @MrsHamon09 - Congrats.  Prayers for an uneventful next 9 months for you.

    QOTW: We got sick last week so we went to bed at 10 on NYE... lol.  I'm not sure I can pick one thing, but I'm looking forward to whatever adventures this year holds.  I'm hopeful that it will be a good year!!!!

    Check-in question - I got CHs on FF for CD19 which puts me at 4DPO.  Only time will tell, but despite being sick we did cover our bases it seems.  I'm optimistic and trying to stay sane in thinking that being sick won't mess with chances this cycle.  My 34th birthday is this coming Sunday and I'd love that as a bday present, but of course that will be too soon to test :-)

    racegurl87 - I can't imagine being in ND... the temp dropped here since I came to work.  It is now 30, feels like 18 due to wind and I'm about to FREEZE... that and I just looked at the 10-day and it says Monday's High/Low is 17/4.  WTH!

    @MoreThanSparrows08 - I didn't remember you were into photography.  I got a nice(er) camera a few years back that I love... it's a Canon DSLR.  Of course I dropped it about a month after getting it and it hasn't really acted right since.  I always want to be able to take those cool Bokah (sp?) shots with christmas list and stuff.  Alas I'm just a dreamer...

    svancura1 - don't be surprised if your temp moves around some.  Mine is always jumping around it seems, but definitely take it before you move around.

    classicstar28 - thinking of you.  the waiting is hard.  FX!

  • @MrsG80inTN I have a Canon DSLR, too! I'm sorry you dropped it... Have you tried taking it to a camera store to see if they can take a look at it for you?  Is there a specific function that doesn't work, or does it just act funny in general?

    This is my latest attempt at Bokeh.  It was just a quick shot since my paperwhites were in bloom (and our Christmas tree is only 3 feet tall).  I'm looking forward to developing this technique more now that I have a couple lenses with lower f-stops.

    Hope when it's time to test you get a BFP!

    Definitely make sure you temp before moving, not even getting up. Keep your thermometer by the bed. Do you a BBT thermometer? They are more accurate than a regular one.  It takes a while to get used to but once you do, it feels weird if you skip a day. You will be an old pro in no time!

  • Congratulations, @MrsHamon09!!!

    @megrae12, thanks for running the check-in! I usually post in LIW, but I guess I didn't respond to last week's.

    CD14 for me and my OPKs are getting closer to positive. A positive today with O tomorrow would most likely leave us with pretty good timing. FX.

    QOTW: New Years was ok. We didn't do anything special to celebrate, but hanging out at home with the H yesterday was nice. Nothing specific planned for 2014 that I'm looking forward to. Of course, I'm just hoping we get to finally have a baby.

FX!
    Haha, glad you and H still covered your bases even if you sick. Nice to know where your priorities lie ;) Sunday is to early to test, so if you must POAS get a cheapie and do it. Just do not be discouraged if you get a negative. ((Hugs)) and happy early bday!!

    Is there a "norm" for where most are? My thoughts were that everyone is different and I have to temp for a bit to find my usual temp before I can see an actual rise

    @svancura1, No, everyone is different. The way that FF will give you CHs to indicate ovulation will be when you have 3 temps that are higher than the previous 6. Your pre and post-O temps won't necessarily be the same as someone else's, though, and you may have different temps from cycle to cycle too.

    Congratulations, @MrsHamon09!!!

    FX that O happens soon. Glad you will have some good timing. FX this is it for you, hun!

  • Thanks for the thread! This board is so lovely and supportive!

    I am nervous as all get out about the appt. I leep thinking I'll be judged by my female doc. It's irrational, but the fact she had a baby last year makes it worse somehow.

    I mean, how do you tell a successful mother that you failed to walk away from an abusive relationship in time, and that your child paid the price? I dunno. Just thinking about relating that much makes me sick to my stomach.

  • @megrae12 Thanks for taking over the check-in.  That’s awesome!

    Congrats to @mrshamon09 !!!! I’m so happy for you.

    I am still waiting on results but hoping that they will be in the mail when we get home – for some reason there was no mail on Tuesday (thinking that maybe the mailman left early to celebrate the New Year).  If not, DH will need to call tomorrow to see if we can go pick them up.  Hopefully the snowstorm won’t close their office.

    QOTW – NYE was fun!  I’m looking forward to lots of sex in 2014 J

    @racegurl87 That must be a tough move.  I love the winters so I would be totally excited to do it for a year or two but it still must be awfully tough.

    @morethansparrows08 Fx that AF comes soon!

    @classicstar28 Owning a home is overrated – there’s always something to be fixed.  Not that I could ever go back to not owning but it’s still overrated.

    @svancura1 You’ll get the hang of temping soon enough!  (at least I hope so because I will eventually have to join the temping crew)

    @masterofallcheese Good luck with the aygestin!

    @mrsg80intn Happy Birthday in advance.

    @bethkate2 Fx for good timing!

    @meagpt22 Glad you were able to get your dress.  I forgot my shoes for Christmas one year – I had to either wear sneakers or slippers – I chose slippers J

  • @peggels24 Be that as it may, we are just throwing money out the window with renting.  Our area has a ridiculously high rental demand due to the university nearby and building restrictions, so rent is super high compared to what our monthly mortgage payments will be.  Yes, we'll probably pay the difference in keeping up with the house, but it will be ours and build equity.  Bottom line, we're done with renting and excited about having our own house.

    I've decided I'll just keep testing til AF appears. For me the BFN have become less painful and getting my hopes up waiting is actually worse.
    This is exactly how I feel, too.  Hoping and waiting seems more stressful/ultimately disappointing than testing every day and seeing the BFN for me.  FX for both of us!!!!

    @Megrae12 Thanks for taking over the discussion!
    @mrshamon09 Congrats! Wishing you a h&h 9 months!
    @classicstar28 I live in Northern CO, where did you move to in CO? This winter has been pretty cold but most of our snow comes in the Spring so be ready! :)

    I am doing okay. Last night I passed a larger then the rest clot that looked very different then the others, pretty sure it was the sac. I wasn't ready for it since I had been spotting for 4 days after bleeding for a week and figured it was over and that I had already passed it. It came as a shock and I broke down and cried. My DH was great and just held me while I cried. I apparently had been living in a fantasy land that if I didn't see it, which is what I was expecting, that maybe it wasn't really real, just a rough period. I had my 2nd blood draw today so I will know tomorrow what the results are.
    QOTD: New years eve was spent swimming, bowling & having dinner with 2 of my closest girlfriends, their kids and spouses. It was so great to just hang out and have fun with them. We don't all get to hang out much so it was a fabulous day. It helped get my mind off what I have been going through.
     This year I am looking forward to graduating with my masters in special education teaching in May and hopefully getting pregnant with a healthy baby. :)

    @blue2mango We moved to Gunbarrel, just north of Boulder.  I've heard that the snow really hits in the spring.  I actually love snow, but HATE driving in it.  Also, ugh on the surprise clot/maybe sac.  I was lucky in that everything happened at once for me, but it was very disturbing to see it all.  I'm sorry you had that happen.  Hopefully you get good results back from the blood tests.

    Neat!  I am very familiar with Loveland.  My DH is from Greeley so we drive through that area regularly.  We actually spent New Year's Eve at Centerra for their ice skating party.  I'm ridiculously excited that someone else on here lives in CO!

    I love when people are from my area! When I was on the July board there were 2 ladies not only from Loveland but we figured out we live in the same neighborhood! Talk about crazy small world!

  • Hey everyone!  Charting is going well, I'm doing  MUCH better than when I first started a few months ago.  I'm not as anxiety-driven as I used to be.  No signs of AF though, but I'm still a couple of weeks away from what is the 'norm' for me.  I did have some MAJOR bloating a couple of days ago.  So maybe that was an early sign of AF?  I've been going out with friends and trying to enjoy this tiny blimp in baby making :]

    I hope you wonderful ladies are doing great!
