None of my kids used a pacifier but I would never call it lazy parenting at all. I did not try to get them used to one and we were fine, about half of my nieces and nephews have used them and they are all fine as well. Who could possibly care if somebody else's baby uses a pacifier?
Pacifier use is such a stupid thing to take a stand against.
Edit Crooked teeth can be caused by so many things, like genetics. Both of my sons needed braces and they didn't have a pacifier or suck their thumb or finger. For a pacifier to cause damage they would still need to be using it when they were near 5 or 6. (As far as the doctor and dentist told my sister)
Based on the amount if Orthodontia DH and I needed, we figured that a paci wouldn't make any difference in her teeth, but did make a huge difference in getting us all some sleep.
Whats going to happens when the baby wants to use the boob as a pacifier?
What I said was pacifier use wouldn't be an issue unless the child still used one at like 5 or 6, that's 5 or 6 years old. And even then it is only a chance. I said that to demonstrate that reasoning was not good. I don't really care if someone uses a pacifier just like I assume no one cares if I don't.
I stated that genetics was a cause for kids needing braces which is why mine needed them. I don't have an issue with anyone using a pacifier, I think it is fine either way.
If my baby wanted to use me as a pacifier I let them. That certainly does not mean anyone else should but it worked for us. A has been harder than her brothers but we are doing fine without. I only commented because I think pacifier use is a stupid thing to take a stand against.
My kid uses pacis as his "loveys." I put like 4 in his crib. He will crawl around and gather them all together and fall asleep clutching them to his chest. Kid desperately needs a teddy bear. lol

I'd love to see a picture! The hording begins now!!
Sorry-I was trying to agree with you. We heard the braces lines as well but figured that A will need braces anyway so a paci isn't going to change anything.
And the boob thing is for the OP's friend-- does she understand that babies use a lot of things to pacify--not just actual pacifiers.

I'll have to see if I can snap a pic of him. It's pretty funny.
@NJAZgirl lol that is so cute. Ever since you mentioned multiple pacis in the crib in another thread a while back, I seriously was like WOW, greatest idea ever because we would always be retrieving it from the floor in the MOTN.. Now I litter the crib with pacis so he can always find one in the MOTN. O doesn't hoard them for snuggles though
Re: Pointless but has me rolling my eyes.
