What say you? (BFP?)

So, on a whim this morning I took a pregnancy (First Response - pink dye test). I had the stomach flu last week and have just been really tired; I thought I was starting my period yesterday (brownish discharge) but then today it disappeared.... so anyway,randomly, I grabbed the last test from below the sink and took it.

ANd it is positive! I mean, really a dark line - very positive! WHAT?!!?!!?

(I am elated - this is wonderful).

So immediately I go to Target and buy some digital tests -- CBE,both the "pregnant/ not-pregnant" kind, and the new kind that tell you 1-2 weeks, etc. I also picked up another box of the First Response, because hey, why not.

Both the digitals say not pregnant. But then I took another FR, and it still shows a faint positive.

I used the dipping in urine method for this round,so that I could take 3 at once and not have to drink a gallon of water in between...

What say you? Too early? Not FMU so won't work for digitals? Should have peed directly on it? Not pregnant!?!??!

(Obviously I Know that you don't know the answers to this, but I'm super anxious and dying for DH to get home!!!!!!!!)

I have always used the cup method. I say it's probably positive! Congrats!

It is probably too early for the digital ones. I would say you are pregnant.

Thanks all! I spotted with James as well, so I know it can be normal... but in that instance, it was a week before my period was due and I got positives on both the line test and the digital in the same day! :-)

So I guess I'll wait a few more days to take another digital... in the meantime, I've already called my doc and have a pregnancy confirmation appt for Thursday morning.

The week when I was supposed to have my period, I had spotting on and off all week before getting my BFP. So, I am pretty sure that yours is positive too. Congrats!!!

I didn't use FMU with any of the tests-- but still got a positive with the second FRER.

I would also say use FMU esp with the digital as they tend to be less sensitive. Congrats

Haha, thanks! Do you FEEL pregnant?? I am trying to remember what this felt like last time around, and for the life of me, I cannot -- I remember being very tired and having sore boobs and not wanting to drink... but that's about it. I can't remember if I felt cramping or anything.

No. Just cramping which I had with DS. Although I'm not quite as tired. I attribute it to having LO to keep me busy. No sore boobs yet. My eyes have been doing weird things though-- Like straining really hard. Don't know if it's just cuz I'm old and need glasses or if it's pregnancy hormones messing with me.

Didn't read all the responses, but when I had my + last year, digitals read "not pregnant" for almost almost one week after, before showing "pregnant". First response (pink) was very faint vs clear blue, which was very dark. So digital def took longer to show + for me.

Thanks all -- I will try to hold off until Thursday to take another digi, but I'll keep you posted.

I told DH and he's happy, but he is totally in shock.

Well, we never STARTED preventing again after LO, so have faith; you'll get there. This month it really "shouldn't" have happened - I had my period for two weeks, DH went on a business trip, and then we both got the stomach flu. I am really stunned. In October, we went on vacation and did it like bunnies...

So sometimes there is no explanation!

Haha, no worries - now that I've been down this road once, the idea of all the newb questions and freakouts sounds horrible. I think A13is stuck with me. :-)
