I am a little scared, but excited. We just made plans yesterday. We are going to our friends' house. They have two LOs (4yo girl and a 1yo boy). We plan to spend the night to avoid any drunk drivers.
We've never spent the night anywhere with DD before so it should be interesting.
By the looks of it I'll be spending a majority of my time in the bathroom. Fun. If I'm feeling better than we will be having a nice dinner, watch a movie..
Nothing exciting . I think we'll be heading over to my parents house for the evening and just hanging out with H after we get LO to bed. That is assuming we actually get LO to sleep before midnight.
I think we're just holding down the couch tonight. We turned down a couple of offers for dinner and parties. Maybe if it wasn't so cold and snowy we'd have more motivation to go out. I'm sure we won't make it to midnight! Happy New Year everyone.
DH works tonight whomp whomp. So me and DD are going to watch the walking dead marathon and be in bed by like 930. Last year was the same.
But the year before that was romantic!! We tried to sneak a midnight kiss when we were on duty under a parking structure to avoid the gunfire. Toasting with Apple cider.
My Dh is working too and will most likely have mandatory OT. I'm planning on going to sleep around 9:30/10 so I can get up in the morning with the girls and he can get a couple hours of sleep once he gets home.
Nothing too exciting here either. We're having dinner with MIL (yay...) then I have a bottle of champagne in the fridge with me name on it. I plan to enjoy it while I'm relaxing on the couch while DD sleeps blissfully in her crib from 7:30pm through the night and DH gives me a foot massage. In a perfect world anyway. What will probably end up happening is DD crying because she doesn't want to go to sleep while I sit with her in the bedroom in the dark while DH falls asleep in front of the tv.
We're planning on having dinner with friends and then hanging out with them until the ball drops... LO is staying with MIL and I am excited to get some time with DH, but nervous about being out that late .. especially on NYE. Here's to hoping I can at least make it til midnight....
My sister's coming over, we're making a bunch of picky food and just relaxing. We were invited to a kid friendly party at the neighbors but it's been a hellish couple of weeks and we decided we'd just rather stay in.
Three families (good friends of ours) in our neighborhood are getting together to ring in the new year. We are joining them and will be able to just walk home. I'm excited.
DH is working, so I'm going to catch up on episodes of HIMYM and Big Bang, and ring in the new year with a bottle of Moscato. Nothing too exciting. LO may try to make it exciting with his fussiness and teething fun though.
We're having an early dinner/evening at my parents to celebrate the new year & my moms retirement from her job she's spent the last 30 years at. Then home & to bed early because toddlerdom.
We're staying in and watching some college football. I probably won't make it to midnight unless LO decides to stay up or gets up to eat. Last year, I fell asleep on the couch around 10 pm thanks to 1st tri exhaustion. Maybe next year I'll actually see the ball drop!
We are staying in and spending the evening cooking and cleaning. Tomorrow the Toronto maple leafs play in the winter classic and we are having a big viewing party for our family and friends.
@msspeedymarie my H and I met on NYE 6 years ago!! We met in a bar though and definitely don't go every year. Lol.
Tonight we are staying in. DH got Man of Steel for Christmas so we will watch that. Hopefully I'll stay awake for the whole thing. We just bought frozen pizza and beer from Fresh market. We are fancy. Lol. Is it sad that I'm excited about our night? Lol
We're getting Subway for dinner, which has been a tradition since we were dating. Then, after DD goes to bed we're making snacks and catching up on the episodes of NCIS which are sitting on our DVR. We plan on going to bed when we're tired, so we might not make it up until midnight.
I'm going all out, putting on a skirt that shows off my legs and high heels. Then my H and I are going out for dinner and a few drinks and then I plan to kiss him senseless!! (among other things)
I can't wait, we need it! <:-P Happy New Year bumpies!

DH made Ice cream and we're getting drunk on coke floats, lol. Oh the riveting lives of new parents! We do have a bottle of bubbly I'll pop open.
NOT looking forward to all the fire works that will start going off at midnight. It will be interesting to see how lo reacts.
I'm hoping LO's white noise machine will drown out the fireworks enough so they don't wake her up (assuming she's actually asleep at midnight)!
ETA: Well, I spent 3 hours trying to get LO down last night. She finally conked out at 11:50 pm, just in time for me to sneak back downstairs and ring in the new year with DH on the couch. Luckily, LO wasn't woken up by the fireworks or people yelling in the street outside our house. At least she slept until 8:15 am this morning! Happy New Year!!
At my moms. Doubt I'll stay up until midnight but I'm gonna give it ago and after LO is down for the night this momma is going to treat herself to her first drink since I found out I was pregnant! We are also shooting off fireworks tonight :-bd
I love they so many of our NYEs involve takeout and tv. That's us too! Having some takeout after LO goes to bed and maybe some bubbly followed by making out like teenagers. Ha-if I can stay up and pretend I'm not an exhausted mommy,
We're just staying in for a chill night. We obviously can't keep LO up for the festivities without her being severely overtired (nor could we find a sitter), so going to any of the parties we were invited to was a big no. DH mentioned having people over but bedtime has been a battle around here lately so I'd rather not have guests over and me spending an hour plus upstairs trying to get DD to sleep.

We've never had a normal NYE. Boo!
