Hi Ladies,
This question is for those who have been through pregnancies before. I'm 18 weeks and 5 days pregnant (my first pregnancy ever). For the last 2 weeks I've been waking up with achy hips. I switch from the left to right sides all night once one side starts aching. When it first started happening, I was in so much pain that walking would even be painful...however, its gotten much better and is a milder pain than it was 2 weeks ago. My midwife suggested going to a chiropractor in the area who regularly works with pregnant ladies, but I really want to avoid that route if possible. I did get a body pillow which I've been told should help. I've been using it the last couple of nights and it's a little bit better. I guess this comes with the territory as I am growing a human being.

Does this achy hip problem disappear after the baby is born? If anyone has experience with this, please let me know what I could possibly expect.
Re: Waking up in the morning with achy hips-question for STMs
My recommendations is either lots of pillows, to go under belly, between legs/knees and along your back. That way you can lay back to not be totally on your hip, and also so you're not laying flat on your back. Hope that makes sense. Also they have pregnancy pillows. I haven't gone that route, but other mommas rave about it.
If you don't want to go the chiro route, then maybe prenatal yoga might be good! I haven't started that yet, but I found before that the days I did yoga I had THE. BEST. Sleeps.

Any reson for the chiropractor hesitation? The chiropractor is and was a huge help for me this pregnancy and last. I have been to a non-force and regular chiropractor, both do the trick.

top of my pregnancy pillow right now. I sometimes do the bwtween the knees thing, but after a long night of tossing and turing I sometimes take off pressure by just laying my achey hips on the dang thing. It helps!
