I slipped on the newly carpeted steps at my parents and went airborne. I landed smack on the edge of the step between my 'crack'. Something popped/cracked (my brother thought it was my ankle). My right leg was tingly all night. I can only stand - walking and sitting hurt too much and my hydrocodone is not touching the pain. It also hurts to use the restroom - really bad.
I had a standing appointment with my Rheumatologist today who said she's pretty sure it's a fracture or a herniated disc, but declined me an x-ray, since I also have an appointment with my pain clinic today, who deals with all of my back issues. I'm not even sure if I want an x-ray, since the treatment for a fracture/break is pretty much the same as with a bruised tailbone.
I'm just hoping that my doctor can give me something stronger for a week or so. I have a surprisingly really high pain tolerance, but this is some of the worst pain I've ever had (and I've fractured my spine before). I guess I'm not training for a triathlon for awhile.
I'm sorry, that sounds aweful .
Honestly, it sounds like you injured a nerve in your lower back via sudden compression. The L2 through L5 lumbars connect to a nerve net on your pelvis called the Cauda Equina. It is responsible for genitalia sensation, bladder control, and bowel control. Any injury to the Cauda results in strange sensations in that are, problems going to the bathroom, and numbness in the inner thigh and genitals.
If you have said numbness, and/or have difficulties going to the bathroom, see a doctor immediately. It's a serious injury that needs immediate surgical correction.
I'm sorry you are going through this. I have herniated discs and nerve pain at the L4. It can be agony. (((Hugs)))
We're working on potty training. I run into the bathroom for a quick #2 and I hear Ella shut "mama I poo-poo" I come out to poo mushed on my couch. I knew i should have put a diaper on her but I was hoping I could cajole her into going on the potty.
I feel your pain. DS is potty training now as well. He has the peeing part down, but he runs and hides and poops in his underwear. If I have to clean squished poop out of a pair of underwear again, I am going to scream! I keep telling myself to be thankful he is FINALLY potty training after a million failed attempts, but the poop thing is just nasty.

My bitch is with AT&T Uverse. After 18 months of rock solid service, I got an awesome new job, but I work from home now. Since the end of November, I have had 3 visits from technicians who promise that various problems are 100% fixed. Service has been down the last 2 business days that I worked. I'm worried about getting fired for not having reliable access or something.

You might have to get the business version of services. It will cost more but it usually means same day fixes. But as I sell broadband, I would be inclined to tell you to switch away from a DSL product.

I think I have broadband now. At least that is what it says beside the flashing red light on the receiver box that has become the bane of my existence.
Don't know about the business version. My company only reimburses up to 100/month for phone and Internet.
Situation: Friend A advises friend B to get a flu shot to protect from future "stomach flu" episodes.
I post "Flu shot won't help 'cause it's not a flu." and post link to medical article about gastroenteritis and now suddenly I'm a "know-it-all."
Ugh.
my pet peeve? People who don't know what illness it is they or their children have so they don't take necessary precautions and I am sending to kids to the office with a vomit bucket while trying to get a custodian in my room to clean the vomit off the floor. Capped with a "They had a flu shot, this shouldn't have happened!" Or "This is proof flu shots don't work."
Yeah...
Wanna be best friends? Getting this simple misconception out of people's heads is like my life goal. The term "stomach flu" makes my head spin.
Influenza and gastroenteritis involve two entirely different body systems.
I've got a new bitch to add. H and I agreed that since there's a lot of money left after bills that he should take X amount out of each check and direct deposit it into savings, so it's like it never existed. This was months ago. I keep asking him if he's done it yet, cause it's like, a REALLY simple and quick process.
He just got pissed off that "why should he have to do all this extra work instead of just transferring X amount leftover at the end of each month"
Um, because we suck at saving and spend way too much money so the whole point is that money's not in the account ever to begin with. Maybe it's a roundabout way of avoiding tackling poor spending habits instead of approaching it head on, but if it works- it works. He's got time at work to sit on his phone and look at Reddit and his dumbass video game all day, but can't do something that could help us get better about saving hundreds of dollars a month. Good lord sometimes it's like arguing with the damn wall.
ETA: I used to be all, why do married people fight about money so much?! LOL. I get it now

AT&T is DSL (they use phone lines instead of coax lines). Not sure of your area, but they usually have bundles around that price for broadband. Good luck either way that you're back online soon!

When I worked in the ER there was an obscene amount of my coworkers who would eat their lunch at their stations, with their bare hands-right after handling patients. Do we not have any clue at all how microscopic organisms work? No wonder there were multiple call outs every day
Every time my husband and I have sex, or talk about the possibility of being/getting pregnant, he swears that I am. I can hear him very quietly whisper, "Boom, you're pregnant" after we have sex, which I know I'm not meant to hear. And the other day he also whispered, "I hope it's a boy." Out loud he says he hopes it's a girl... Having him sound so confident of me getting KU makes me almost believe it, and gets my hopes up. I remind him every time that there is only a 20% chance each month if our timing is right.
He also asked me if I am so worried about things, why I won't go get tested. I told him that first I want to chart for a few cycles to see if I even ovulate, and also that we have to be TTC for at least a year before we can go talk to anyone about that. He doesn't get it.
Your post made me LOL imagining your DH whispering to himself after sex. Mine is the same way. I said I had cramps and he's like, oh your pregnant, I can just tell because you are glowing. I was 5 DPO. And I think he was at least half serious.

on that same note... H told me to 'relax and stop stressing' saying that's why my period is a day late and doesn't believe the faint line I got yesterday. I keep telling him that's not how it works, because I already ovulated. Stress would only delay my o date! or am I wrong in this assumption? Also he's being a butthole about the DTAP vaccine. He said he already got it when he was a kid... so he doesn't have to get another. He's being stupid stubborn and won't change his mind.
ETA- one more! He also doesn't think expired pregnancy tests will give false negatives.... so he keeps asking me why I haven't used the two expired digital ones we've had for like ever.

Gah! So frustrating! I do try to explain how things work to him, but I know he only half listens/understands.

@happyhour73 no other changes at all, other than probably way too many treats and rawhides over the holidays with so much family here constantly spoiling her. I'll definitely cook up some rice and meat for her, she loves that. We got her from the humane society but have never gone back to their vet but might call and ask about just dropping off a sample if we need to. I'm so sick of spending $50 just to walk through the door at our vet. Thanks!
@pudgybunny we've been considering it. H seemed reluctant at the monthly cost but when I showed him how much that would've saved us from the get go he changed his tune. Any insurances you recommend? We were pretty interested in what ASPCA had to offer.
janda426 It has been forever since I have looked. I would call your vet and ask what ones they take... though I did hear that they way most pet insurances work is you pay it and you submit the bill and they reimburse you. Sorry I can't be of more help!
DH we agreed that I would do laundry yesterday and you would clean house toilets everything . I did laundry and come home from work today to find you did not keep your end of the deal NOT COOL especially when you had the day off!
I have been waiting to post all day! I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled...all 4 of them! Yuck. Im on a local and oral antibiotics 3 times a day because 1 of them decided it would be awesome to ruin my weekend with pain and infection. So not excited about it :-/
