I looked for a post on those, because I could've sworn there was one already, but couldn't find it! What kind of crib did/are you buying? I find the whole thing overwhelming because almost all of them have mixed reviews! What about crib mattresses? Any specific brand you went with?
Re: Cribs
I just bought a Serta (or maybe Sealy) firm mattress from Target.
I liked that it is solid wood no particle board (no glue) with a metal base and water based paint. Plus it's cute!
The mattress is great, its dual sided (meh) but right out of the box no fumes! Very important to me....
For the mattress, we splurged and got a Dax Stores organic crib mattress. It is organic cotton and wool, and we went with the upgraded pillar supports in it, it was around $270. That is actually one of the better prices for a natural/organic option.https://www.daxstores.com/v-snq-crib.html
For this one we're going with one of these $89 convertible cribs (this or this) and probably the same mattress DS has.

I wonder if there is any info on a crib mattress that has never been stored. DD is only 14 months and is still using her crib mattress. We were thinking of giving it to baby and getting her something a little softer/nicer to use for the next couple years. If the baby wasn't using it she would be, but nothing scares me more than SIDS.

Gah, so many choices. Why can't it be more like the Sims where there's only like 3 options tops?
