I told H I would cook dinner after he goes back to work. (We usually cook together or he does it.) I'm compiling recipes that can be done in steps during various naps so I don't accidentally broil the baby or something in a state of confusion. (Example: pot roast. Put ingredients in crock pot during one nap, check on them as I can.)
I want to read Room. My co-worker gave it to me for leave. It seems scary, though.
I would like to make Lo lots of hats for the winter. Crocheting hats is my new BFF. They whip up so fast!
As a FTM, I have probably set the bar way too high. It will be a miracle if I'm alive by mid-February.
In regards to Room, do it. One of my favorite books in the last 2 years. Not scary at all. Tells you just enough to know what happened without being overly graphic or gruesome. As for me, survive a predicted beast of a Chicago winter with a newborn and 2.5 year old and keep my sanity. Possible goals: 1. Continue library trips to keep up with 1000 books before kindergarten program with DD 2. Get back to cooking more 3. Possibly start photo books. I'm gonna leave it at that. I know the first 6 weeks is pretty brutal so I don't have high hopes until after that...
Nurse my baby and try to keep as normal of a schedule and life for my older kids...and not let my entire house go to shit. That's about it. Oh yeah and no technical maternity leave, you know...SAHM here
Our lease is up right before I have to go back, so we have to pack and move to a 2 br in the same complex. Everyone keeps saying we should break the lease, easy for them to say, not their money! I also wanna make him a blanket which I'd love to do prebaby but I haven't started at all.
Re: Maternity Leave projects?
As for me, survive a predicted beast of a Chicago winter with a newborn and 2.5 year old and keep my sanity. Possible goals:
1. Continue library trips to keep up with 1000 books before kindergarten program with DD
2. Get back to cooking more
3. Possibly start photo books.
I'm gonna leave it at that. I know the first 6 weeks is pretty brutal so I don't have high hopes until after that...
2. Reheat frozen dinners I made for supper. At least DH will have one good meal a day
3. Survive as a SAHM with my crazy energetic son and a NB...
4. Try to take a shower at least every other day. It was sooo hard to find time at the beginning.
Anything that gets done above and beyond these is a bonus!
