Re: Caboose Check-in! (Apr 27-30)

  • Wow 22 weeks already!!! I've been having some massive gas pains! Ugh! SIL is planning the shower for February! I still have to get SO on the ball with the remodeling that needs to be done to make our spare/junk room a nursery. 126 days left ladies!

  • Hooray! I will be 22 weeks on Christmas!
I am STILL puking. I seriously am infuriated. Other than that, we are having a little girl! Registry is done, I still have to decide on a crib. We aren't doing a nursery because my husband is deploying right after the baby is born and I will be moving home. My TX friends plan on throwing me a shower in February.
  • Hi! I was hoping to see this. I always feel so far behind in the A14 board. I'm 22 wks on Christmas - everything seems to be going well. I feel him moving but I am sure it is faint compared to some people. I'm arguing with my pants this week. i just feel big compared to my non- pg body.

I like the name Sargent (nn:Sarge) but DH is not completely convinced and my mom doesn't like it. No other names are really standing out to me.

Also, what is the deal with skinny maternity jeans? Mine seem to fall down all the time. I feel like a little kid wearing tights....

  • 22 weeks tomorrow! I have heartburn but that's not really new. Have a cold thanks to my work being a giant pool of germs. Happy to have the next few days off of work! I love feeling my little guy moving all over and watching my belly move it's my favorite past time haha so far we just figured out where my shower is but it's out of my hands from here. Prob goin to do it in late feb early march. We don't have any part of the nursery done but that'll come after the holidays :) hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas

I'm 22 weeks tomorrow too, and still exhausted! Christmas isn't helping either. I finally put the lights on the Christmas tree (I've been saying I will "definitely do it tomorrow" for over 2 weeks), and ornaments and gift wrapping are next.

Sleeping is fun too. I'm up 3 times a night to pee. I found using a snoogle against my back and a wedge pillow under my belly helps me sometime get semi-decent sleep.

We have a lot of work to do in the nursery still. Some groundwater came through a crack in the foundation in that room, so it needs to be sealed and the carpet replaced (luckily it won't be too big a job). I'm also hoping DH and my mom will paint it in the next week or two. My mom is getting us all of the bedding and accessories for Christmas and then I can go get paint swatches to pick the colors.
  • Hey Caboosers! Yesterday was the first time I've felt my little girl wiggling around consistently every few hours. I can start to feel her from the outside but DH still hasn't felt it yet. She stops moving when he puts his hands there. :( hopefully soon. All of my Xmas presents under the tree are small but he said there is one more coming... I hope he got me a snoogle! If not I might need to go buy one for myself after the holidays. Have a great Christmas for those who celebrate!!

  • Down to puking only about once a week over here. Little tapping movements, but only felt from the inside. Our Christmas gift from my parents was the pack n play we'd registered for, that was generous and unexpected! Enjoying the benefits of stretchy waistbands on maternity pants at holiday dinners!
  • Yay! I love the caboose check in since I feel so far behind everyone sometimes! 22 weeks tomorrow. We have it narrowed somewhat to a few names, but still not with any certainty. The nursery is planned and kind of in the works. DH wanted to get some of he work done while he is on break, but he goes back to school on Monday. I think he is planning to prime the walls this week since we have some very dark paint to cover.

  • Yay caboose ladies. Officially got my due date changed to reflect conception instead of lmp, which gives baby 4 extra days to cook (now due the 29th). Found out its a boy - Evan Thomas - and am getting much more certain about feeling his movements. Had a horrible nightmare last night that I started bleeding and we lost him, which has made me teary and irrationally worried all day. I've felt him moving around since, so hopefully I'll feel better about it soon.

Otherwise, excited to be hopefully getting some baby gifts for Xmas and having my shower Saturday :).

  • @CalinAZ love the name! and yay for shower!  Can't wait to hear about the goodies :)

And congrats on everyone who has started your nursery preparations!  You are much farther ahead than me!  lol  We're 22 weeks as of yesterday, it's a baby boy, and his name is Jacob :)  Lil Jacob sits really low and in the front, so I've been feeling him for a long time now, and it's been fun playing the watch the belly dance game.  DH actually saw him kick this morning for the first time and it always startles me into a huge fit of chuckles when it happens :)

As a PSA:  I got my first chiropractic adjustment today (first ever) and it was fabulous!!!!  I was having horrible sciatic nerve pain straight down the back of my right hip/leg, and couldn't bend over or anything.  She lit me up with a few adjustments, and I've already booked my next appt :)  My friend who delivered her baby at home naturally last April actually got adjusted every two weeks closer to her due date, and then once when she first went into labor, and she thinks it had a lot to do with how quickly she progressed and how her labor went (even a FTM).
  • 22 weeks tomorrow! Woooo!

I only throw up once or twice a week now, so that's a big improvement. DH had some stinky breath this morning and that had me running to the bathroom to throw up hahaha

I can now start to feel the baby. DH hasn't felt him yet but I feel him more every day so it'll be soon.

We haven't really done much to the nursery. We're going to start to paint after the new year. His name is Wyatt so we're going with a cowboy themed room (of course!)

I went back for my appt today (and double check u/s), and she is definitely a she!  I can't believe she's only 1lb 3 oz.  With as big as my belly looks, you'd sure think she's a lot bigger.

I've started to feel her moving about, but hubs really hasn't felt her (except, maybe once).

Nursery? Well, yeah. It's still full of boxes we didn't know where to put when we moved in this summer (and had no plans of baby for another year). :-)  I did receive an email saying the furniture is on its way, so I should probably get to clearing stuff out.  We have decided to go with a grey/navy/bright pink room.

Names - We've pretty much decided on Eliana "Ellie" Rose.  My husband is Puerto Rican, so most people love the way Eliana sounds when he says it (and he seems to think he has issues saying "Scarlett" turning it into "Escarlett").  Either way, we both liked the name, and it actually honors both my mom, Ellen and my dad's mom, Rose.

    Edit: (Forgot about showers)
My family is throwing me a shower back home, and my mom and "fairy godmothers" have decided on the theme "A Star is Born".  I'm excited to get to celebrate with everyone back home since I don't get to see them very often since I moved in June.  My best friend is throwing me a shower down here, and she's going with a "tea party" theme.  Since I own a small business doing custom invitations, I'm actually designing the invites for both - maybe a bit odd for some, but they asked if I wanted to do it since I love this stuff!

I'm so grateful for the amount of love and people who want to share in the life of our LO.  It says it takes a village, and I am blessed to have some of the best!

***Question*** Is anyone a scrapbooker or planning on or already started working on a baby book?  If so, what type/style are you using? Fill in the blank? Half-made scrapbook style? Starting from scratch scrapbook? Digital scrapbook to print into a book after birth/1 yr? Website scrapbook?  I'm definitely doing something, but haven't decided which route I'm going to take.
  • Wahoo for 22 weeks!! I cannot wait for V-Day!!! The past 2 weeks have flown by which I am very grateful for. This pregnancy is going by so slowly which is good and bad. I can't believe that this time next year we will have almost 8 month olds!! Crazy to think about. We are still debating the nursery color and theme. We are not in a real hurry because we have to shift rooms with the other 2 kids. My oldest who is almost 9, has to move down to the main floor. We only have 3 bedrooms up and my H thinks that is the best option. I don't really like having any of my babies that far away :(. He doesn't think it is safe to have our toddler share a room with the baby even though they wouldn't share until he is at least 6-7 months old. We will be getting an alarm system put in especially if he moves our 9 year old downstairs. So yeah not in a big hurry for that much change ;). I have never had a baby shower and I secretly wish someone would throw me one since this is our last and I have never had one. We can afford all the baby things so I just want one to hang out and celebrate with my friends and family. Sadly most of which are in another state :(.

  • @Medic99 - I hope you get your shower.

Btw- I haven't started to think about nursery stuff, I did this with DS too and it was fine. I guess I'm banking on the first few months in our room thing...

  • I am 22 weeks as of yesterday. Grateful to be feeling good... Lots more movement happening: my husband felt a kick last week- just once but an incredible experience! Starting to see weight come on... Didn't gain anything til week 18, and feel like I am making up for lost time. My ankles are swollen though... I am like, "already??!"ugh oh!" Baby shower is planned for March 8, dual shower with SIL. Hope everyone has a great week!

  • I was 22 weeks on Monday. We're team pink, but haven't decided on a name yet. I'm feeling little flutters pretty regularly, DH even felt a kick once which was pretty cool :)
We're in a one-bedroom till July so I'm not really doing a nursery yet. I'll prolly not do a theme but just tie things together with color (purple and grey) and then add some pieces when she gets her own room.
And I don't have any showers planned yet, although I know my SIL is planning on doing one for me :)

I'm behind on this one but I did a scrapbook from scratch with DS. I kept my pregnancy test, put my belly pics in it, ultrasounds, and keepsakes from when he was born. I filled in an already made baby book as well.
