I really wish my MIL qualified so I wouldn't have to deal with what I'm dealing with even though I feel like it SHOULD be the families responsibility and not the governments. I'm such a hypocrite.

Also, I guess I'm ready to share this FFFC now. Until recently, my family qualified for Medicaid and we used it. Private insurance never would have covered all of Owen's services and we never would have been able to get him the help he needed without it. Not having to spend gads of money on healthcare meant that we could afford to do things like buy food, pay rent, and yes, even go on vacation.

We no longer qualify but will be getting transitional aid for a year after our last review. It feels great to know that we will finally be independent, but I'm also kind of scared shitless.
