  • I understand, the parent was upset the prescription wasn't covered under the reduced fee. She would have to pay participle/full cost. I'm a diabetic btdt paying full cost,my insulin pump costs 8grand...I'd be pissed if I had to dish out that money if it wasn't covered and I didn't have it! I think your correlating things you shouldn't have and offended many! It's words but they can hurt. Just remember this is a board made up of many different people and life situations.
I think @cdumovich has her foot permanently wedged in her mouth. Though I do believe she feels sorry for what she did. The bump doesn't forget. Cdumovich you might just have to deal with this haunting you for a while. Don't worry, you will catch shit for a while but it will blow over. I can't say you are off my post-it. The government assistance crap you are spewing doesn't help you in any way. Are you trying to make people dislike you? I'm serious, because right now you are like 0 for 3. First the crazy stretch mark cream spam. Second, the bizarro bitching about your induction. Then you disappear. When you finally decide to reappear you say all kinds of inflammatory shit. I mean, FFS, what do you expect when you behave this way? I'm really not trying to be a dick, but if you act like a jerk then people will flame you. It's not an IF but a WHEN. I keep trying to give you the benefit of the doubt then you post horse shit like this. WTF?
Is anyone else curious what ER she works in that she commonly runs into convicts and the mentally ill?

  • @jackson290721 : In all fairness the ER that I've volunteered at is right near our State Mental Hospital & 15 minutes from our county jail. So, when I was there I saw a fair amount of mentally ill & convicts. The ER is a great equalizer there. You see all sorts of stuff.

I don't doubt it. I just remember the post about it, figured she worked at a therapists office or something, not the er

  • Small town. Pretty sure our ER had 4 people tops in it a day.

I think many towns/cities find their ER is full of people from all walks of life. When I took a job commuting to the ER in the suburban town I grew up in, it opened my eyes to how sheltered I'd been growing up and how much more diverse the town was than I'd realized. The mentally ill have so few options for healthcare, and truly, when someone is having issues such as psychosis, suicidal thoughts, etc, the ER is the safest place for them to be to get them the appropriate evaluation and care.

We also served as the check point for health issues when individuals are arrested and needed medical attention before heading in to jail, were the hospital the local jail used for emergencies with inmates, and occasionally were the site of active arrests when it was discovered there were warrants out for certain patients in the ER. Add in the oddballs doing stupid/disgusting things, and ERs see strange things. I also trained at an ER in Detroit, so to me the ER in my hometown was tame.

    tl;dr ERs are wild places

Please don't be insulted but from what my doctor friends have said of doing their residencies in Detroit it is one of the hardest cities in US to work the ER. Just the poverty and violence and often intoxicated and drug induced assaults on healthcare workers.

Why would she be insulted by that?

@caffienerain - hang in there. Sometimes the holidays can be hard with all the "expectations". I hope the new year brings happier times.

And the love it was for support. Hang in there mama!

Let's just vote Cdumovich off the island and get it over with.

Maybe I'm just being a softie, but I disagree with this. She's stuck around repeatedly after being flamed over and over again. I think something's up and I think she's lonely and reaching out to us. I think this is an instance where a little patience and compassion could go a long way.
I am kind of with you here. I just desperately want her (cdumovich) to stop saying offensive shit. I want to be big on the second/third chance train. I want to!

    Do me a solid, @cdumovich!

  • @valstulas : I can totally hear the American Psycho doing the spiel before the crazy dude kills Paul. The whole thing in the Alvin the Chipmunk voice & it's making me die in fits of laughter!

"I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to Be Square," a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself! HEY PAUL!"

    *chop!*

Bateman: TRY GETTING A RESERVATION AT DORSIA NOW YOU FUCKING STUPID BASTARD! YOU FUCKING BASTARD!

Just imagine it in the chipmunk voice. Lol! I know. I know-- I'm twisted.

I let Finn suck frosting off my finger last night. He likes that much more than any veggies that he's tried to far.

Every time I eat ice cream, LO whines to have a taste. I let him have a tiny bit every once in a while. I'm a terrible mother.
Eh-- frankly this is NBD as long as it doesn't give the kid tummy problems. I figure life is way to short to get my panties in a bunch over something like this. As long as it isn't a family member doing it without permission.

DS has tried mashed potatoes with real butter. He liked it but I only gave him a little bit. Really you aren't hurting the kid.

  • @CDumovich you got some good advice from @ncchnat. I know you posted a little during our pregnancies, but it takes awhile to get a feel for the climate on our board. I didn't really feel comfortable and like coming out of my shell until after I had Finn. Go slow and keep your eyes open. Take some time to get to know us.

    @Stina2012

When she eats meat or really anything at this stage, she sucks on it for a while and then eventually spits it out or swallows it.

At this stage, food is totally for play and not nutrition, so it doesn't matter if she actually "eats" it.

She also, btw, chokes less now than she did with purees. Purees get shoved into the back of the baby's mouth, and with BLW, the food stays in the front of the mouth until swallowed.

    -----F-U quote tree----

This comment irritates me. Rock on with your BLW, but I never "shoved" purees into the "back of my baby's mouth".  My kid loved purees, as I gently spooned them just into his mouth just past his lips.

Agree. I've never had problems with puréed food.
