One - @magickalnarwhal - yes, you said it much more articulately than I did.
Two - @somerandomchick is right, you know - there are many, many women who feel they can't say no to their husbands and that's a big fucking problem. I don't think it's being a buzzkill to point that out.
Three - I'm currently writing a sci-fi screenplay called "Attack of the Cannibal Hamsters."
I'm incredibly nervous and excited to meet @etoille on Sunday morning. What if she doesn't like me? What if she sees me one way online and in text and then she's so disappointed when she meets me IRL?
I'm insanely jealous of this meet up.
because it didn't fucking snow enough for me to build my own
FFFC: I wonder if the same people upset about the cannibal hamsters being released to the backyard have never used a mouse trap or stepped on a spider or sprayed a hornet's nest? Or eaten beef, pork, chicken, etc.? Basically which animal's life is more valuable? Where do we draw the line? I'd like to defend said hamsters by saying they were intelligent, emotional beings... But they were suddenly eating each other after six months of peaceful coexistence.

No
I would have preferred she killed them than let them go in her back yard.

It's not only that it's a sad condition they were living in but that you shouldn't ever release an animal into a different habitat for many reasons that don't have to do with the well being of that specific animal being released, but the other animals it has to coexist with. It isn't good for the environment...it's not good to release an unnative animal.

I'll ask it again, since you never answered before: why didn't you just separate them?
Not finished phone. It's like why we have snakehead fish in some rivers, bamboo in the wild taking over where it shouldn't. Similar to the stinkbug situation in some places, if that makes sense to you.

Not even close to the same thing. I hunt, fish and love animals. I would never release a captive animal let alone a non native species into the wild.
Also, I haven't eaten since yesterday and if those hamsters were in front of me I wouldn't eat them, and I'm pretty hungry. It's not the same as pork, chicken or beef.
I don't know if there is a way to justify the hamster thing, but ms. Dumovich keeps trying. Dude, what you did was shitty. Those hamsters needed a vet & you didn't take care of them properly. That's shitty. Rather than keep trying to justify why not own that you fucked up. They probably met a very unpleasant fate. If they didn't die a horrible death by infection they may have gotten eaten by ants (awful way to go) or by predators.
It's in no way the same as spraying a wasp nest. Those fuckers are pests & can hurt you.
Hamsters can't sting you. Those hamsters needed medical attention & you chose to dump them vs. attend to them. That's shitty. There is no way to get around that it was the wrong thing to do. Sorry.
We all make mistakes. I don't know why it seems to be the thing you want to go to the deuce over. Admit you fucked up & stop digging your hole deeper. That is not attractive & it pisses me off even more that you want to try to justify a poor decision. There is no right way to do the wrong thing.
So seriously, don't you even feel bad that you left them to die? That's jacked up. I feel bad when I see a dying wild animal and I'm not even responsible for their demise. It's messed up to me that you seem to have no empathy for them as living beings.
It's equally more jacked up that you give us a spiel about the value of life. What the actual fuck?!
TL;DR : own your shit-tastic lack of empathy & poor decision that you made for the hamsters. It was wrong. Stop justifying.
I had a super judgy moment I'm not proud of, but I'm still kinda surprised. See if you agree... A friend of a friend had a baby late July/early August. She just shared video of her on a sugar high after feeding her chocolate pudding. What?!? Pudding? I didn't even know babies this little could process dairy. Guess they can. Not a big deal, but a confession all the same

Yeah, they could have mated with the local chipmunks or something and created a dangerous invasive hybrid that started attacking small dogs and children.
Oh shit. Now I gave away the plot to my movie.
Friday Flame Free Confession : However, you've got to be shitting me if you are going to claim that this should be flame free? You've been here long enough to know that douchey stuff gets flamed. C'mon now...

What exactly do you think most formula is made from? Dairy.

Speaking of animal rights, has anyone seen Blackfish yet? I don't think I will ever look at Sea World the same again (even though you all think I don't have a soul by now any ways). But I had no idea how bad it was until I watched that.
I posted this last week, but I'll post it again for levity.
I saw it last weekend and then I took a nap. I dreamed that I was standing helplessly by while Paula Deen got attacked by a vicious orca.

Because that's logical.

Everyone still gets flamed. I mean, my friggen husband got flamed this week and he doesn't even know it.
Now that's some funny shit!
Are we supposed to let it fly because you waxed philosophical about the value of life or some shit?
