@sol1790, I "loved" that because I hear you! Alex is constantly kicking me right in my c-section scar no matter how I position him, he always finds it! I literally have to calm myself, haha

Really? Other than the FB v TB debate a while ago, I don't think we've hit A14 status. Some healthy debate, but no name calling. I don't think anyone in this group gets her underoos in a wad about our discussions like the hormonal pregnant ladies do.

This! I have tried joining my other birth month board,I can't! I just can't. They are nuts! Bunch of pregnant, hormonal woman. Im scared of them! lol I love this board :x. Nice, civilized, not all that crazy women.
I can't stand it when people say "Xmas" . It's Christmas...don't take Christ out of Christmas. After all, he is the reason for the season.
**rolling eyes** Actually, the reason for the season is Christians wanting to convert Pagans and thus stealing their holiday and making it the birth date of Christ. There was nothing intrinsically Christian about Saturnalia (the original Pagan celebration) and to remedy this, Christian leaders named Saturnalia’s concluding day, December 25th, to be Jesus’s birthday.
ETA: A lot of the practices you enjoy during this season also stem from Pagan rituals. Ex: Christmas tree, mistletoe, Santa Claus, and gift giving.
A lot of people celebrate "Christmas" - not everyone is Christian and not everyone is celebrating the birth of Jesus. To many people, the holiday has become a seasonal holiday celebrating time with family/friends, winter, and the passing of another year. This is not offensive to those who celebrate it for religious reasons seeing as the holiday never really belonged to any particular religion (unless you want to count Paganism).

@Kate_C I agree, the debates on here are definitely healthy but there are a few individuals who are consistently negative lately and semi A14. Kind of like how Russianmommy used to be. I just blame it on holiday stress, lack of sleep, etc.
@Clandestinex Thank you!
And a new one: I am irrationally irritated at whatever moron thought a PROPANE tank was an appropriate carry on item at MSP Airport, causing a 2 hour delay for my parents' flight. Now we are going to miss the last year of the Holidazzle parade. Thanks.

How did that get past TSA?
It didn't get through security. But somebody tried, and then when discoveredd, the whole damn place had to be evacuated.

It didn't. But instead of confiscating it, they just let her walk away from security and leave it at an airport store. Then she went through security and boarded her plane, leaving the infamous unattended package at the airport.
If you can't bring a full size shampoo bottle through security, one would think that a propane tank would be clearly over the 3 oz rule. Not to mention that whole "no explosives" thing.

As my friends and family will tell you, I've always been an argumentative jerk. No need to make up excuses for me.

I used to love Syqik or something's post. They were hilarious. The one word subject lines were equally as amazing. It was like a tease.. you kinda knew what it was about because the subject was straight to the point.. but you didn't know exactly what it was about because it could be a question or statement or something else entirely. lol
RussianMommy was hilarious to me.
@Kate_C - I am the same way, except for right now.. I honestly do not feel like arguing about anything because I do not have the motivation to prove my point.
I also confess that the UO post yesterday RE: alcohol really got under my skin.
@clgsquared What about it got on your nerves? I am curious. I see both sides of the debate. And by see both sides I mean love to drink and want everyone to drink with me, but also understand that it's probably not the healthiest habit and some people think it's bad. I just do me haha.

Jasmine kicked me in the face and busted my lip this morning while wiggling around because she hates medicine. I confess I was sooo angry at an 8 month old!! I had to step back and take a deep breath! Patience Sol patience!!
At least you had the self awareness to step back and take a breather! A lot of people dont. Fin head butted me in the nose the other day and i had to put him down and walk away for a sec.
I confess that I dont research baby-related things nearly to the extent of some of y'all. Sometimes I start feeling like I'm a lackadaisical mom because of it....
and then I think if I tried to stay on top of and research car seats and food and BLW and sleeping habits and milestones and etc... as much as it at least seems some of y'all do - I would be so freaking overwhelmed and confused/overloaded with too much info.
@FrecklesInside- Haven't seen you on here in awhile. How are you and your LO?
Hey there! Thanks for asking, we are doing very well! I still lurk on occasion but haven't been posting much since the board had a lot of turnover post-birth. I check in sometimes to see how those of you are doing who I did know. I should step out of the shadows once in a while though

I confess I haven't washed our sheets in a couple weeks. My husband also lets the dog lick dirty dishes sometimes as a "prewash." We are dirty people.
This is standard practice in our house!
Ewww that is so nasty to me!! this is why I don't eat from ppl who have pets. This is also why I never never go to any office potlucks that aren't catered.

Amen to this! I don't either. And I have my own thoughts on some subjects that I dare do not say because I'm scared people will think I'm crazy!

Haha, we do put the dishes through the dishwasher after the dog is done! If the dishwasher can clean plates that had raw meat, i feel alright about a little dog drool :P I will second the pot luck thing: I work with a woman who lets her pet birds fly around the house while she is cooking. One time she came in with bird poop on her shirt and didnt know about it, I shudder to think what might be in her casseroles!

Wait a sec. You don't eat over at people's houses if they have pets on the off chance their dog licks their dishes?

My "homework" over the holiday break is to officially get Warner sleeping in his crib at night. I think I would rather be water boarded than Ferber him, so it took like 1hr20min to get him to bed. My confession is that I feel like maybe learning mandarin would be easier than sleep training an infant. I'm such a wuss.

It gets easier! Once he gets used to the crib and used to the same routine it will take less time. Good luck with your home work! :-)

Yep this is exactly what I do...I kinda always thought ppl who have dogs and cats werent always the cleanest when it comes to pets and the dog pre wash confirmed my thoughts. Ive actually watched ppl pet their pet not wash their hands and then eat or cook etc so yes if I dont know you personally and your cleanliness level I wont eat at your house. We can still hang out though lol
My confession is I really want motivation to explain the Christmas season thing. Maybe after swim class today.
Also, the whole pet people not being the cleanest because of petting them and letting them lick the plates is funny. I don't know why, but I find my husband licking the plates after eating more gross than a dog. Although I do not let my dog lick the plates because their saliva is really slippery and I do not use a dishwasher very often. I can assure you that if I have an inside dog, they are clean and well groomed for... simply because I hate pet hair and dander (not that I am allergic or anything). I would equate touching an inside animal to touching your own hair or skin.. do you wash your hands each time you touch your head?
