I'm in Hawaii and it's technically not Friday here, but it is in Brooklyn, so here we go. B has her front four teeth on top and has some really swollen gums where her top canines will come in. We flew from Brooklyn to LA on the 11th, then flew to Hawaii (also flew my mom out) on the 16th. My mom is convinced (after four kids, so fair enough) that teething isn't a big deal. B has been a bit of a mess because she's obviously TEETHING, but I keep handing her off to my mom saying that she's having a really hard time with the time change. Lies.

I can't remember who made the UO about drinking not helping relax you, yesterday but....that is just not true.

This stupid Duck Dynasty debate is helping me clean up my FB news feed quite a bit. Yes, you're entitled to your opinion. No, I don't have to read your uneducated remarks on the topic. I guarantee that almost all the friends posting about it haven't even read the article in question, either.

This is side eye worthy for sure: as part of my job I get Christmas gifts from the vendors I work with all year. My confession; please don't send me gift baskets. They make me cranky. They contain an obnoxiously large amount of food that my husband and I will never eat all of....I think a gift basket can be done right (add a bottle of wine or do a theme like cooking -that I may actually enjoy).... But seriously the SAME basket as last year containing cheesy biscuit mix, biscotti, hazelnuts ---(not a single thing with eating)..... Please, save your money!

My kids were crazy with naps and bedtimes the past few days (especially my toddler) so I had them in for naps at 12:15 yesterday (instead of 1) and they usually go to bed at 7:30pm... those kids were in bed and I looked at the clock and it was 6:55. Oh well, mommy needs her time alone for her sanity!

Hah, well we leave Christmas night and H is driving so I will probably just "wine up" before we leave ;P I kid. I'm just praying we all are cooperative. If anyone has any tips for surviving this long of trip, it's greatly appreciated!

We started our budget a couple days ago because we were over spending. Last night I climbed into bed and while on my phone started bidding on a coach tote. I didn't think I'd actually win it. Next thing I know..going once, going twice, sold.. To me. Merry Christmas to me I suppose

My confession is that Connor sleeps in the bed with me when my husband is working. Apparently I love the smell of soggy piss ass in the morning... because I let him sleep with me knowing that when I wake up his butt will be in my face.

This was my confession this week too! Put N down a little earlier than usual (30mins) to get stuff done and to have some time to myself. He just rolled around in his crib until he fell asleep - no crying or whining so it made me feel less guilty

I have not done one bit of work since getting in at 7am. I've finished addressing my Christmas cards, and am searching on Pinterest for appetizer recipes.And I don't plan on doing much either. In fact...I'll probably leave after lunch, and go finish my Christmas shopping.

I usually have hot chocolate for or with breakfast almost every morning the whole month of December every year. Sometimes with cookies.

We exchanged names this year between siblings and my BIL's and we got my sister and her husband. I made sure to write on the present I got for my sister "from DH" and not me, I took her husband aka my BIL. My sister and I have had a shaky relationship this year and she is SO incredibly picky so I figured she couldn't get mad at my DH if she didn't like the present I picked... She is not good at "fake" liking things either. She accepts gifts like a child- if she doesn't like it everyone will know and she will give it the stink eye look.

I'm sure there are people who use it as a secular abbreviation, but now you can judge them for not knowing the historical significance of it! I grew up catholic and attended catholic schools, so I heard all about this kind of symbolism from an early age. . Thank you, Ms. J, high school religion teacher!

LO will be 9 months on 12/29 and he isn't crawling yet.  Up until this past week, I was working with him on it, trying to encourage him to scoot and crawl and reach for his toys.  Now that we're this close to post-Christmas and taking the tree down, and hosting two parties this week, I'm doing everything within my power to make sure he DOESN"T crawl until after Wednesday so we can take the tree down!

@JSS1002 lol I hear, you! Torrin has been fairly good about not getting into the tree but a week ago I babysat an 11 month old who just started walking. It was a constant obsession for her. By the end of the night I had to undecorate the bottom half and she even fell into it once, thinking she could lean on it. Now T is pulling up and walking along the couch and I am not really working on it with him because that is the last thing I wish for right now!

I ate a box of 4 Russel Stover chocolates on my way to work this morning...then when I got in we had a meeting and someone brought in cake for a birthday...so who was I to say no?

All I have put in my body today is 4 chocolates, 1 piece of coconut cake and a peppermint mocha.

**rolling eyes** Actually, the reason for the season is Christians wanting to convert Pagans and thus stealing their holiday and making it the birth date of Christ.  There was nothing intrinsically Christian about Saturnalia (the original Pagan celebration) and to remedy this, Christian leaders named Saturnalia’s concluding day, December 25^th, to be Jesus’s birthday.

ETA: A lot of the practices you enjoy during this season also stem from Pagan rituals. Ex: Christmas tree, mistletoe, Santa Claus, and gift giving. 

A lot of people celebrate "Christmas" - not everyone is Christian and not everyone is celebrating the birth of Jesus. To many people, the holiday has become a seasonal holiday celebrating time with family/friends, winter, and the passing of another year. This is not offensive to those who celebrate it for religious reasons seeing as the holiday never really belonged to any particular religion (unless you want to count Paganism).

Jasmine kicked me in the face and busted my lip this morning while wiggling around because she hates medicine. I confess I was sooo angry at an 8 month old!! I had to step back and take a deep breath! Patience Sol patience!!
