Re: UO

  • I hate hearing Christmas music in stores and on the radio. I basically listen to CDs from Thanksgiving til New Year's because I can't stand hearing horrible renditions of traditional songs.

I also think the whole concept of Santa is as weird as dog shit after a meal of crayons and glitter glue.

I love putting makeup and nail polish on my 3 year old. We play dress up a lot and its so much fun. I wish that people didn't read into it or compare it to pageantry.

I can get on board if its something that mom and daughter do together to have fun. What I HATE is like my ex SIL who constantly wants to put concealor and other make up on my 5 year old niece to make her "pretty enough" to go out .... yep, she seriously says that

OMG that makes me so sad. I hope they're saving up for therapy.

Yeah we have so much fun with it. I let her do my hair and makeup and usually I end up looking like a clown but she thinks its so awesome. She likes to get dolled up and then pack her lunch to go to work. Crazy kid.
I used to love brushing my mom's hair. Sounds like you two are having a blast!

As per my niece - MIL got mad at me for saying that 5 was too young for her to be worrying about being "pretty enough" because "everyone likes to look nice" ....

I used to think non profit organizations were amazing. After working for one I realize they are such a crock of shit with brown nosing ED's who don't care in the slightest about their targeted community. I'll never work for one again.

True story. I've worked for them for years (I start at a new place on the 30th). It's us lower workers who happen to feel the "non" in non- profit, is all. The company my boyfriend and I just left, they get 250k per student per year. Our pay sure didnt reflect that.

Yup! My company is a joke and I guess maybe it's because I work so closely with directors that I see what's going on but i cannot shut my mouth so I call them out on a lot of things, which they don't like. I can't stand to be treated like an idiot.

  • @23melissa28 why does it bother you so much? It can help develop their nurturing side. Would you buy something like my buddy for him?

  • I plan on letting my son play with dolls if he wants. And, go! X_X

This is the weirdest shit to me. I just don't see the point. And I've heard all the reasons. Still.

Edit to elaborate: more so in cases where parents purposely buy dolls for their sons. If junior comes across a doll while we are at someone's house or something, cool, have a ball. But not buying him any.
I wouldn't buy a doll for my son (if I had one) without him expressing an interest in having one, but I wouldn't buy any toy for my kid unless they expressed an interest.

If hypothetical son asks for one I would never say, 'no, that's a girl toy.'
To clarify, I would also not force any toy on my little guy, but I also wouldn't deny him a toy because it is a "girl" toy. I guess it is not as much of a UO as I thought :-)

I think Phil Robertson had every right to say what he did. Freedom of speech and all that. What would we expect from a old timer southern Christian man?? He has the right to an opinion, and to express that opinion, just like everyone else.

I agree 1000000000%. lately people make it seem like a crime if someone doesn't have the opinion that the public wants them to. I support what he said

  • I think it's really crappy to take maternity leave knowing that you're going to quit/find a new job once your leave is over. Way to screw over your company and coworkers.

I would agree HOWEVER, the company I work for is just trying to screw me over any way they can. Craziest bunch of mother fuckers I've ever encountered!

whoops! I'm doing this but only because three weeks before I was due to come back they 'cancelled' my position so I would have to pick up odd hours every week, some until 11p and even overnights.Nope! Not what I agreed to when I left

I'm going to recycle what I posted last FFFC cuz I guess it's really a UO.  Rainbow-colored icicle lights are annoying.  Regular rainbow/multi-colored Christmas lights? Cool. White or white-blue icicle lights? Dandy. But colorful icicle lights? Not realistic. I've never seen a real-life rainbow icicle. White or white/blue is fine to me, more realistic if it's all white, but I'll give blue a pass too because it's cold-looking.

    they have those? i want!

    #tackyanddon'tcare

I guess they aren't exactly "rainbow", I probably should have said multi-colored.  Or any color besides white or blue.  But I will admit, I prefer to see a house brilliantly decorated in any lights, even the multi-colored icicle lights, over a house that has one small, measly little shrub or something decorated.  So I guess that's part 2 of my UO.  Go all out!

  • None of my 4 babies have ever slept in a crib for more than 20 minutes. I personally don't know any mamas who have successfully used a crib for their babies. Even with tricks like the heating pad or a blankie that smells like mama......I think with rare exception, if you tell me your baby sleeps in a crib, I feel you must be practicing some form of CIO. How can your baby not be screaming their head off? Even if you go In there and comfort them every 5 minutes, they have to be screaming their little heads off. Or does everyone have magical babies who love cribs? Flame away, but I really don't believe your babies are sleeping in their cribs quietly and peacefully. Just admit you CIO, seriously! And RNP does not count as a crib. Flame away, or share your secrets....cause I'm just not buying it.

Mine naps in his crib. I make sure he's good and asleep before I lay him down. He sleeps on his belly during the day, and will sleep in the crib for a few hours. He is still in his pnp in our bedroom at night.

There is a huge difference between supporting his right to free speech and supporting what he says. So you think homosexual behavior is akin to bestiality? You're an ignorant asshole.
Well I never said I agreed with him, just that he has the right to say whatever he wants.
