I just got a text that her doctor is sending her over to L&D due to high BP, swelling and protein in urine. She's 38 weeks, so the doctors are not taking any chances! She's going to be induced and should have her LO in the next 24-36 hours!!
Good Luck
@OnBabymaking226!!
T's & P's!!
-----------------Update #1--------------------
Her & hubby have been in L&D for 2 hours. She's just gotten cytotec and now waiting to be checked in 4 hours time. She wasn't dilated at all so OB says the chances of a c-section is increasing.
She's keeping a good attitude about it! She was hoping to avoid one but she said "won't be devastated if it happens"!
Her BP has gone way down since being there, but because of the protein in urine and swelling, OB is steaming ahead with getting this baby out!
Sending lots of dilating and cervix softening vibes!!
-------------------------Update #2:--------------------------------
When the doc checked her cervix last night, she was still sealed tighter than a crab's buttocks! She had some pretty terrible contractions, mostly back labour! She received an epidural around 2:30 AM PST and was finally able to get some sleep around 4:30 AM PST. She's now waiting for the doctor to come re-assess her and decide which direction to go from there!
-------Update #3-----------
She's finally making progress! She is 3-4 cm dilated, her OB broke her water. Contractions are about 2-3 minutes apart, so they are hoping for some progress soon!!
-------FINAL UPDATE--------------
Just heard this morning from
@OnBabyMaking226 and her little girl has arrived safe and sound!
About 2 hours after measuring 3-4 cm, she dilated to about 6 cm. It was only a few hours after that, when she jumped to 10 cm. The baby was still very high up in the uterus, so her OB was concerned she may not come down. She pushed for 2 hours to see if they could get LO down lower, but after every push, she was going right back up!
At 6pm PST,
@OnBabymaking226's temperature spiked to 101.1. Her OB advised that if her temp stayed high for much longer, she would have to diagnose Chorio (infection of the amniotic sac) and the baby would be in NICU for a week as a precaution (that's the policy).
The OB gave her the option of C-Section to avoid NICU time or continue as they were going. She didn't want to risk anything so she took the c-section and her early Christmas present arrived at 6:54 pm PST on December 19th! She weighed 6lb 4oz and measured 19.5 inches! She has a full head of dark brown hair and is the cutest little peanut!
During the c-section it was discovered that
@OnBabymaking226's pelvis was VERY small and that the baby had the cord wrapped around her neck 3 times, which is probably why she was floating back up with every push!
WELCOME TO THE WORLD EMMA KATHERINE!!! (She's gorgeous, but we all were expecting that)
