"Some women have disagreed respectfully and I appreciate that but some take offence to a simple thought and in better words than shouting opinions, they are just rude about their opinions... which is fair your allowed to be a bitch I suppose"
If you refer to the entire context of my statement, I was ALWAYS referring to more than one person so I am sorry at the end I did say "your" where I should have said they.
And no normally I don't deal with people on here but yes I moved to the UK 7 months ago and being pregnant the health care IS ALL NEW to me and its one of my main worries. And I was just responding to someones thought on which I agreed on and it made me a little more satisfied? I don't mind if others don't agree , all Im saying is its kind of mean the way some people disagree. I am not mad at americans btw. I like how you put words in peoples mouth but I don't think anyone is mad at Americans?
Some mums would like to see their baby's earlier but can't because we live in the uk! That's my soddin point u arrogant person
Actually, you can. You just don't want to pay for it. So...it's basically your fault you aren't seeing your baby early.
That has nothing to do with where you live.
There are a bunch of women on these boards that complain about not getting an early scan because their doctors do not seem it necessary. Your geographical whining is really ridiculous.
And why is it that whiners and white knights who cry about "being mean" are the first ones to start cussing and calling names?
I do know that there's a lot of judgemental people from there and nasty people
Who was judgmental and nasty, save for you & the original poster? Seriously, I gave imput, links and actual help before you started spouting off bullshit. Seriously, get a clue.
Lol I knew youd have something good to say. As entertaining as you are I am going to stop talking to you know, I don't think its good for any pregnant woman to respond to you lol Best of luck to you and your family Xx

LOL some of the women here are pregnant and doing just fine responding. If typing on a message board gives you the vapors then you need to re-evaluate your life man.
I find it interesting that you feel like you can say the most offensive crap but just because you end the paragraph with "best of luck to you and your family" that somehow its ok.
Ok so I see a lot of mummy's 2 b on here having their ultra sound at as early as 5 weeks I'm so jealous us in the uk are not offered our first scan untill were at least 12 weeks then we have 1 more at 20 weeks wish I could have early scan not fair
Several posters tried to reassure her that what she's experiencing is normal medical care here in the US too and that people who have a ton of scans thrown at them "left right and centre" as she stated either A) have reason to question/don't know the EDD; are high risk for a loss or complications; or C) are under the care of an OB who is milking insurance and patients with extra unnecessary tests. It's not a matter of opinion, it's just facts given by those acquainted with medical care here in the States, which she is not. These replies are what she thinks is "jumping down her throat"...they're not. She never asked a question with her first post. She only complained which is why people now have the perception of OP as Veruca Salt dancing through their heads. Wanting to see the baby ASAP is understandable and people sympathize with that, but they won't sympathize when one whinining that life isn't fair.
EDIT: wording
J13 May Siggy Challenge: People lacking in common sense raise my blood pressure.
I see this has turned into one of *THOSE* threads...wow.
But I do have to say, your healthcare system is ten times better what ours is. If you want to complain about not having an early ultrasound, I'll gladly give you my early ultrasound in exchange for your healthcare system. Have fun with my $400/month premiums that still leave me with thousands owed at the end!
Yup. And I'm sure OP would prefer to have to deal with the vagaries of private insurance and pay thousands to tens of thousands of dollars just to birth her child (/sarcasm font). Grass is always greener and whatnot. I've had two early ultrasounds, neither of which resulted in a healthy continuing pregnancy. While I will have blood tests done right away the next time I, hopefully, get pregnant, I don't even know for sure that I'll have an early ultrasound with my next pregnancy unless something goes horribly wrong again. That's because I have to deal with insurance, who will only cover medical necessities or what my clinic is willing to code in a way they accept.

In the US, early scans are given when
1) You are unsure when you conceived, and the pregnancy needs to be dated.
2) You are high risk due to previous losses.
3) You present with spotting/cramping/bleeding and are worried of a miscarriage or threatened miscarriage.
4) On occassion with pain and very high HCG levels to rule out an ectopic pregnancy.
That's basically it. A few providers may routinely do early scans, but they are few and far inbetween. And not everyone here has had an early scan. And not everyone in the US has had an early scan.
I'm sorry you're disappointed, but enough is enough.

Jesus! How is seeing you every 5 to 6 weeks a "joke"?

Watching Youtube videos is not research. The majority of American mom's do not post Youtube videos.
You've been told already that in the U.S. an uncomplicated pregnancy in a mother with no loss history, and no questions about dating, that the standard is one U/S at 20 weeks. This is the case for me personally as well.
Just because you see people talking about all of their early scans doesn't mean that they are the majority - because they aren't. Of course you don't see people like me jumping into discussions about U/S experiences because I have nothing to share! My lack of participation in online discussions and posting of Youtube videos doesn't mean I'm not an American mom.
You're just misinformed and taking it out on everyone here. I don't get an U/S until 20 weeks and you don't see me whining to random internet strangers about it... I accepted it, and I am grateful that I am not having complications that would necessitate having an earlier scan. There are much more important things to worry about than getting a medically unnecessary early U/S.
O.........k ffs!!!! I get ya fucking point and yes I'm swearing because you are all repeating yourselves, your like vultures I can safely say Americans (not all of them) but you lot are nasty, vile people who have enjoyed slating me the whole day for having a fuckin opinion!!.

Good gravy, the only one getting worked up about other's opinions here is you. If you are really as upset as your comments come across, I think you seriously might want to look into some stress relief techniques or see a therapist because this level of crazy is not good.

And now you have been flagged for abuse for discrimination/racism. "Americans (not all of them) but you lot are nasty, vile people..." You absolutely cannot come on this board and classify Americans like you just did. That is racist, and I am highly offended.
Wasting a mods time to come and check out a post that in no way is flag-worthy is not a normal reaction. Flags are for TOS violations, not for disliking posts.
App is being deleted so u can carry on with this debate without me because there is defo no need for how you lot have treated me today hope your all happy with yourselves

... Says the only one in this entire thread who was name calling and acting like a child who had her gameboy taken away.
Not that you will listen at this point, but if you would have come to this board and posed the question something like this:
"I am from the UK, and it seems through this board, that many ladies get early ultrasounds. Is that the norm in the US? I ask because here in the UK, we do not get early scans, so I was curious about it."
That would have been taken much better, provided you didn't argue with everyone's responses when we told you it was not "all Americans" who got them. And then proceed to offend everyone by calling us nasty vultures.
If you ever happen to visit the US, I would leave the arrogrant attitude in the UK as it will not get you very far on an American chat board or on the soil.
