That's a dating ultrasound...
Can you not pay out of pocket ($/£) to an elective place?
That's based in London very far from where I live I guess I'll just have to wait till I get my appointment 12-14 weeks I've been told I think it annoys me more because I found out earlier with this one I was about 7 weeks when I found out with both my girls I found out at only 4 weeks with this one which is why it feels like for ever to see baby
I wasn't aware of this but there are a lot that wasn't what I said anyway I've seen you tube videos of women in the USA with a shock pregnancy and that they were goin for a scan again these are first time mums and they have said they healthy so baby's healthy
I just moved to the UK from the states and Ive only told my mom and my mother in law so far and Im 6 weeks. So my mother in law said 20 weeks(that was a while ago though) is when she got her first scan but coming from the states I know a ton of moms, including mine who got ultrasounds early on as well. Makes me a bit jealous Im hoping I can get one at 9- 10 weeks here lol Im going to call and make the apnt now actually.
Lol I came on here to learn some things and talk things through but some women are harsh! Just ignore those ones I understand what you mean about an early scan. Most women in the US do get earlier scans then in England and it isn't just because they are at health risks. Im not saying ALL women but most do.
Thank you yes they and it's defo not to do with their health issues or previous pregnancys I just think some people need to get off their high horse and show some respect for others askin a question

Oh dear lord. I think it's time for you to log off. You are just ridiculous.
Ok for a start keep up because that was not aimed at u secondly if u all must know this baby number 3 I'm worried more than ever I've had no symptoms what so ever I don't feel pregnant yet I can not have a early scab last two I had full blown symptoms so why can't us worried mums have a early scan to put our minds at rest? Unless we're bleeding or having cramps were on our own untill 12 weeks!! So yeh I am jealous u lot get scans thrown at u left right and centre!!

Symptoms, or lack thereof, have nothing to do with the health of a baby. An ultrasound is not going to prevent a loss.
And another thing, quit trying to tell us how things work in the US when you don't even live here. You have made it quite apparent you have no idea what you're talking about.
Holy crap. I have three Friends in the UK. They all got ultrasounds at 6 weeks. I don't know why being in the UK matters. These three friends have a loss & infertility history. So yeah, they aren't going for fun. They are going to monitor their babies.
We get it. You would love to have an early ultrasound. I gave you resources to look up that could give you more local places to you. That's expensive. So, you chose not to do that. Fair enough, but don't cry on here about it.
It's not right, accurate or fair to make blanket statements about "what Americans get" vs the UK. There is a wide variation in services in the US as well as the UK. Your experience is not everyone's experience.
I'm not pregnant (that I know of) but it's a public message board & I can post where I like. So my hormones are doing great.
I lived in the US my entire life, just moved here 7 months ago, I think Id know from experience. but the US is big so maybe you are from some where else where you got scans later than most other women? Personally where Im from all of my friends and family got a scan a lot earlier than I am going to living in the UK. So rather you agree or not doesn't really matter, that's why more than one person can post a reply on here so say your opinion and that's it you don't have to fight about it.
I do know that there's a lot of judgemental people from there and nasty people
People who aren't getting an early u/s won't be posting pics or talking about it so you don't see the silent majority who haven't had an u/s. The standard in the States is one u/s at 20wks UNLESS there is a problem/history of problems. Some OBs will do more, but it isn't as common as you think it is.
People replied that your perception of how things are done in the States was wrong so they're judgmental and nasty? You're the one who jumped down their throats for reminding you to be grateful you don't need an early scan.
You seriously need to take a chill pill.

Lol No but on this board you can either post a thought/concern/question/worry or anything for that matter. No one is complaining here. She simply stated that she has seen US women get ultrasounds earlier on than Uk women. Now rather a UK women got an ultrasound for a health risk or has private insurance doesn't matter. All I said is I agree. So how is your statement a fact and mine not? We are all shouting opinions out here. I just agreed with her from my personal experience. Everyone is just telling their opinions. How do you know the care in the UK ? Actually it doesn't matter because NONE of this is fact.
We are here to talk things through and agree or not agree but fighting and being rude about something you don't agree about is really unnecessary and maybe you should find something that makes you happier lol
Some mums would like to see their baby's earlier but can't because we live in the uk! That's my soddin point u arrogant person
This point has been made, but I'll make it again: nearly all moms want to see their baby early but unless you have a doctor who is trigger happy or you have some sort of a problem, most women wait until past 12 weeks for an u/s. My practice doesn't do them until 20 weeks unless you have a problem. I'm smack dab in the middle of the US but I know my friends who have not had issues are in the same boat. Only my high risk friends or those who have problems pop up.
To sum: some mom's would like to see their baby earlier but they can't because we live in the US! See what I did there?
yes because by shouting I meant it literally And as I said she wasn't bitching, just posted a normal thought. If you don't agree why cant you just say it nicely? Some women have disagreed respectfully and I appreciate that but some take offence to a simple thought and in better words than shouting opinions, they are just rude about their opinions... which is fair your allowed to be a bitch I suppose.
I was referring to anyone who wanted to bitch I was saying they are allowed to be a bitch so sorry for the confusion. Idk what tos means but oh well. Well If you think shes been unreasonable then maybe just stop talking to her then? idk how to help you there...
Ok well if you don't believe me idk how to prove it to you? Miscommunication happens quite frequently over the internet hence this whole thread. Sorry for using the word bitch if that offended you and Im sincere about that.
And really sorry to anyone who had an early u/s due to complications, that wasn't anyones intentions of "being jealous" of that. I think some people just meant that some moms have a healthy scan earlier than others... that is not a fact btw just a thought. No one is jealous of an unhealthy pregnancy here, I hope the best works out for your families.
