Barring any unforeseen complications, and as far as you know right now, what type of birth will you have with this LO?

  • Vaginal.  The real question right now is whether I will have a vertex or breech birth.  Baby is still flipping circles at 37w4d.  I have a care provider who will do a breech birth, but I would prefer if baby flipped head down.

  • Planning for an unmedicated vaginal birth but will do whatever is best/safest for baby.

Since she's head down I'm assuming vaginal, but I'm still slightly in denial at the fact that I actually have to give birth at some point.

    Same with me!

Those still exist? That's awesome! So hard to come by anymore unfortunately.

  • Hopefully/Ideally vaginally. Will find out Thursday if he moved head down which I know won't necessarily mean much as he can still turn but I am hopeful.

  • Vaginal. I am hoping I go into labor before January 7th (longest OB will let me go past due date) to avoid induction.

  • Vaginally. Induction is scheduled for 12/27, but it's very likely I'll go on my own before then. Hopefully by the weekend! He's been measuring a week ahead, so he'd be measuring 39w.

  • Hoping for vaginally, unmedicated. I never believed women that told me you reach a point in pregnancy that you're so uncomfortable you no longer fear labor. But I'm so there. I don't think it will be a walk in the park, but I have this peace about it and want to get it over with. I'm also praying that I take after my mom's quick and supposedly easy deliveries (her words).

  • I'm not sure. I'm slightly scared of a vaginal birth but also don't want a rcs.
  • This sounds crazy, but I said c-section. Reason being, my labor with DS was like the holy grail of inductions. I progressed well, my water broke on it's own 6 hours after starting Pitocin, I pushed for 15 minutes, and that was it. I was up walking around the room with minimal soreness an hour after he was born.

I'm not banking on getting lucky twice.

  • I clicked C/S.  My baby has been persistently breech for at least two months, ever since he's been big enough for me to tell what he's up to.  It's possible he could turn at the eleventh hour, but a first baby who isn't even trying, it's unlikely.

Of course, the risks to the baby of natural breech birth are bigger than the risks to me of a nice orderly c/s, so unless he turns, that's what's going to happen!

I agree with you, that sounds crazy. You would never be allowed to just have a c section in my country, for the reason "my last birth was perfect".
  • RCS for me. Not a great candidate for VBAC nor am I really interested in one.

  • Hoping he comes out the vag. Although part of me wonders if maybe I'd rather not have my ladybits all mangled on his way out. My stomach is covered in stretch marks anyways...what's another scar?

    I'm kidding. Kind of.

  • Ideally vaginal, baby girl has been locked and loaded for weeks now. I'm worried her body might be too big for my pelvic and we would have to do a c/s since it happened to one of SO's friend. Either way, I just want her to be healthy coming into this world. I do like the idea of her being delivered by Santa or the stork.

  • @mrsjenni you and I are in the same boat. 4th baby, probable 4induction and hopefully 4th vaginal delivery.
  • I just assumed that my doctor would knock on my doctor and hand me my baby. Isn't there a home delivery option like with pizza?

In all seriousness, the plan is vaginally. Although, these past few threads about delivery and hospital stay have officially sent me into a state of panic about his arrival. Thanks, gals! ;)

  • I'm having a repeat c-section. He most likely won't come before than, he seems pretty content in there lol.
  • Vaginal. My last was a successful induction. Although it was verrrryy long and I was unable to go with med-free, I thought it was pretty ideal considering the circumstances. Because of the same complication this birth will also be induced unless he decides to come even earlier.

We employed the same logic with having another kid entirely. She is so good and was so easy, surely lightning won't strike twice for us, right?

  • RCS on the 31st.

  • We're hoping for a smooth VBAC but am prepared for a RCS
  • @Amylou333- So I thought this was interesting and figured I'd share. A friend of mine had twins and apparently they were both head down but while delivering the first one the 2nd flipped..I'm sure this was not the ideal situation and the doctors would've done something else if possible, but they wound up pulling the 2nd out by her foot. So sometimes they can make it work in a not so great situation...but I agree with you- doing both would suck!

I'm also planning a vaginal delivery but it went so well last time I'm slightly concerned something is going to go horribly wrong this time. So I guess we'll see!

  • @amylou333 that would be horrible!  I never even considered that as a possibility for you twin mamas!
