I bribed Lucy with tiny sips of my soda to get her to eat broccoli and carrots that I served her with lunch today. She is so picky lately and I'm worried she's going to turn into a pretzel because it's basically the one thing she will eat.
@FordFalcor Emma wanted Taco Bell after we left the doctor. When we got in the house, I set my Mountain Dew and the bag of food on the tv stand so I could go lay Max down. I come out, "Mom, your lemonade tastes weird, but it's nummy!" Yah.. she drank my Mountain Dew. Her first drink of pop... oops.
Ben just went down for a nap and I'm watching my dvr'ed Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and eating cheddar & sour cream Ruffles instead of cleaning this messy ass living room... Sorrynotsorry!!
@funkyphoenix I don't are a problem with that. The living room doesn't look so bad. I do like the coffee table.
@cindyrelluh that is ridiculous. I'm glad they are making you a new one. I would write a letter to corporate and see if there is anything else they can do. I mean I'm sure the ring has sentimental value.
@tiffletons518 I need Taxi Bell now. Lol at Emma. Did it wind her up? This reminds me that Lucy asks for a "bitty taste" when she knows it's not something she usually gets. Haha. I can't say no to a bitty taste. Here's another random for the thread. My husband just might be the sleep training wizard. I told him I was too weak to try CIO with Wyatt so he devised this awesomely simple bedtime routine that actually works. And now Wyatt will nap in his own bed. Put down awake. It's magical in that there is no reason it should work as well as it does. Wanna hear it?
Bounce baby while sitting on our bed for 30 secs rhythmically patting back, lay in crib, turn on Seahorse, say goodnight and leave. According to H, I was "making it too complicated when the kid just wants to sleep." Huh. Imagine that.
I have to go back and read all the words... but I'm a douchey... I need to stop being so suspicious of my husband. He told me today (without my prompting) that he went looking for a snow blower after work yesterday and took his sweet time b/c he was mad at me and didn't want to be home. While, yes, he needs to step up more and be more involved (which we discussed at length tonight), I'm winning crappiest wife of the year for speaking bad about him all the time on this board! He really is a sweet guy and works hard for our little family... I feel really bad for putting him in such a negative light. To brag on him, he shoveled the driveway this morning and brushed off both of our cars without being asked. He also took LO for an hour last night (the longest he's ever taken her- it felt so weird) and that allowed me a break to eat my first meal ever alone since her birth and I got to finish up some laundry. Then he did a load of laundry himself today, also without being asked. He has definitely stepped it up these past 2 days with helping out. I'm proud of him.
FWIW @pinkpuffyheart2 I don't think any of us think you are douchey, OR a crappy wife.
I think I will definitely write a letter to corporate about my ring. It is such an intimate purchase. I hate not being able to wear it.
DS has successfully rolled/army crawled from one end of the room to the other. I don't know why, but it is so funny watching him roll towards what we wants. Currently it would appear he is accosting DD's little ladybug rider thingy. I guess it was looking at him wrong, so he rolled over to smack it up.
OK also, he is out getting food and just called me because he saw a cat outside (it's not a residential area, mostly businesses) and he said the cat looks cold, and wanted to know what he should do. :x I told him if he felt comfortable bringing the cat home, I could take it to a shelter tomorrow. (I would take it someplace they wouldn't put it down for space)... This is not only sweet because he wants to help the cat, but because he had a heart transplant a few years ago, his Dr told him to stay away from cats since his immune system is compromised and a cat bite has a lot of bacteria. He would be risking his life in some way to bring the kitty home. But, thankfully someone else picked up the cat and he hung up to go talk to them and make sure the cat will be ok.
Random: I really need to take off the horribly chipped nail polish on my toes! (And yes I wear these pants a lot, they are my house pants and they are huge, light and comfy)
We had rented out our house for 2 years while we lived out of state. We moved back recently and the people who were renting it beat the hell out of the house. Maybe it's typical renter behavior? I have no idea. Examples- they cut a hole in my door and installed (improperly) a giant dog door my husband can crawl through, they broke the lids on the back of the toilet tank, holes in the walls, holes in the pantry door, their dog chewed all our baseboards up...
Luckily my husband was smart enough to take out an insurance policy that covered everything even if it was rented so the majority of repairs were covered. I'm so glad everything got fixed before Christmas.
I really want to go back and read all the words but I'm so intimidated by the length of this thread. I swear I checked one morning, it wasn't here, and the next time I looked it was here and 10 pgs long.
@lioness13 We bought a very expensive prelit tree and a big section of the lights don't work. So annoying. I usually love Christmas but I'm not feeling it this year.
Also, I just have to bitch. My new coworker sucks. She needs to just quit. She goes on maternity leave in May and I know she's going to leave a huge effing mess. I'd rather just take over her work now so it's done right.
@kames12 Eww on the snow. We got about 7 on Saturday, and it continued to flurry Sunday. And, then we got another inch last night. Really, I shouldn't complain. The last 2 years we haven't had a real Michigan winter. We have barely gotten any snow at all. But, if this is any indication... we are clearly going to be making up for it this year. Boo.
I hate it when you are talking to someone about LO and they respond with "oh just wait until blah, blah, blah". Like you know everything because you had a kid. I had to listen to you talk about your kid non stop for five years. Please shut up and listen to me talk about mine!!!
Also while making my treats I had my first true pregnancy craving. Still craving it and can't do a damn thing about it because my hubby is at work..... So if anyone wants to bring my crispy juicy green apples so I can dip them in peanut butter I'll share some of my yummy treats with you.
@lioness13 made me want to show off my prelit too! All of the big presents are in my closet, because Santa hasn't come yet. I wanna see some trees, bishes!
Warm peanut butter in a pot on stove, when it starts to get melts/thin add in corn syrup and stir until it's creamy and completely mixed together. Pour peanut butter mixture into rice crispys and mix thoroughly. Scoop into greased/buttered dish and press it down firmly.
Topping: Melt butterscotch and semi sweets together in a microwave safe bowl. Pour over rice crispys and let the chocolate harden back up before cutting.
Enjoy
Also. I like cutting mine into bite size pieces and freezing them
