The baby, this one, or #2. Sometime the newb. DD was Albie in utero (after Albus Dumbledore, the greatest wizard there ever was, obviously). We never call her that now.
Unfortunately I referred to the baby as a parasite when I wasnt feeling very well. My DH immediately jump all over that. As a compromise we refer to it as Baby P so people dont think we are too crazy.
First Baby and a complete surprise.
Hubby has decided to be team green so we are driving friends and family crazy!
We refer to it as the fruit slice or number 3. Fruit slice is because we already refer to SIL's baby as the gummy bear and I've been eating a lot of gummy fruit slices. We purposely don't refer to it as a baby because we don't want our three year old to figure it out yet.
I call it "Norah or Henry". DH isn't 100% on either name, but those are my top choices so it's what I'm going with for now. Every night I say "goodnight Norah or Henry", I did the same with DS and now it's sort of a superstition of mine to say goodnight to the baby by name every night.
We call ours "Cheese". It's a nod to the movie Old School, the nickname Luke Wilson & Vince Vaughn had for Jeremy Piven's character. We won't reveal the baby's name until he/she is born, so we go with Cheese until then. On a side note, DS was called Joban, a name we got from Paul Rudd in I Love You Man. People hate our baby nicknames (my mother especially), but we think it's fun.
Everything. Haha. We've called it the weekly fruit, baby Kiss (SO's LN), girl names, boy names, it, the baby, the bean, my little blobby alien, it's not hard to know what we're talking about in context haha. Part of me always wants to call it Pumpkin since my dad calls me that but... Well, my dad still calls me that. So it might be confusing haha.
We call ours cocklebur...we had a miscarriage the first time around, so we hoped it would be stickier, and it's caused no small amount of pain--I was really crampy for the first 6 weeks or so.
DH calls it bean or peanut, but I call it demon blob because it is plotting to starve me. Once I can eat I will be on board with the sweet nicknames, but at the moment I'm sick of the hangover feeling!
We have started calling it "little Ruby" partly because that will the baby's birth stone and because if it's a girl I'm kinda leaning towards that name. It was my great grandmothers name and my dad wanted to name me that but didn't. Sometimes I'll say "Ruby Gem" or "little Gem" don't want the baby to feel left out if it's a boy so it works both ways!!
Nothing yet, between worrying that it won't stick and not ready to tell our toddler about it. I talk about being pregnant or "this one" at the moment. I think once we have the NT scan and are out of first tri and DD knows about the baby, I might get more attached and have a nickname. DD was the bean so I am not sure what this one will be.
We refer to the baby as 'hoppy' because the bean was conceived at Great American Beer Fest. It was our first getaway by ourselves (my mom kept our 1 year old son) and we were excited to 'pull the goalie' while we were there. We told all of our friends we were officially starting to try and we needed beer names for the baby. Hops are a key ingredient in beer so hoppy has kinda stuck
I've been calling it "Bug". Which I thought was cute, but now realize that might be misconstrued as "parasite". Lol. But I like it so I'm sticking with it.
Gummy bear. Because it looked just like a little gummy bear on the first u/s at 7 & 1/2 weeks I have another u/s this wens day at almost 12 weeks but I'm pretty sure the nickname will stay the same lol
