Re: UO

  • I've been on maternity leave for 12 weeks and I still believe that holding down a full-time job is harder than being a SAHM. That's of one, of course. I know it gets exponentially harder with more children.

Sometimes I actually enjoy when LO wakes up to eat during the night. It's like special mommy/son time where we are completely alone and the only ones awake. I love staring at him and just bonding with him during those 20 minute feelings. This is why, even though DH has offered to get up as much as I need him to, I don't let him lol.

Everyone told me I would feel this way but I totally don't. I feel pretty bad mommy guilt about it.

Eta: that's really a confession, whatever.

  • I think UGGS are horrendous and shouldn't be worn by adults. Why spend $150 bucks on an ugly pair of fur boots when you can drop that dough on a cute pair of leather boots.

I have two pairs that I am completely over wearing, but my cute Steve Madden boots seem to have shrunk around my calf area since being pregnant :-/

  • Because they are warm and comfy. I have Ugg like boots. They always keep my feet warm, even yesterday at -5 degrees out. I also have a pair of leather boots. Not as comfy, not as warm.

I also have ugg-like boots (no way I'm I spending that much) not for style but for comfort. Regular or stylish leather boots aren't very warm. I like my toes and would like to keep them.

It's 3 degrees here right now and today is the warmest it's been in over a week.

    I have another!

This >> # will always be "pound" to me.

Same here. When people first starting saying hashtag, I was like WTF is that? It took my 11year old sister explaining it to me for me to finally understand. What has this world come to?
  • I don't even fully understand why every uses it followed by random words! I know it has something to so with twitter but DH and I are lost. I'm going to have one of my younger siblings explain it to me :-/

I seriously hide annoying couples on FB. The ones who always take selfies together and on a daily basis write on each other's FB walls about how lucky they are and how much they love each other. You know how I tell my hubby I love him, I look at him and tell him. Of course the exceptions to this rule is the couples who are apart, for extended periods of time. But not every day people.

Also most reality TV is trash unless you have to make or create something like Project Runway or Face Off. I even hate all these singing shows, but the Sing Off is Aca-Awesome.

Sorry for any typos. I am running off like 2 hrs of sleep.

I love Face Off! Didn't know what I was missing until they started running marathons while I was snuggling LO. I'm sure they did that just for me. ;)

  • I have another that I'm sure many of you will disagree with but here it goes: I think spending a ton of money on a wedding is ridiculous! Personally I'd rather spend that money on an awesome honeymoon, car, house ...etc. And people always say well its the best day of your life, well yeah it will be regardless because your marrying your best friend not because you have all these fancy overpriced things. Of course is you have money to blow then blow away.

Could not agree more. We basically eloped and got married in the Australian version of a courthouse. We had a FANTASTIC dinner with family and friends....I have never felt like I missed out on ANYTHING

  • My UO- I think it is shortsighted to put your kids' photos online for the world to see. Many of you will disagree, obvi, but I don't want my children to find photos of them unexpectedly someday and wonder wtf I was thinking. I think it's unfair to them. I mean, we don't know what future media technologies will be developed and how what we share now can be misused later.

Don't hate, I wish I could be more comfortable with it, especially when we're all sharing pics of cute babies, I wanna play too!!

Why would they care if they found pictures of themselves?
Maybe they won't. But maybe they will, their decision, not mine.

Dd1 is 5 and recently my niece showed her a Facebook photo of the two of them. Dd1 was kinda weirded out and wondered who all would see her online. She wanted to know who all my Facebook friends are so she knew who saw photos of her.
  • My UO is kinda icky, but I have always been grossed out by anal. Heebie geebies.

Also, body builders are gross ~ I just don't care for all the muscles.

You think Uggs are fugly, don't get me started on Crocs. . .
What THE fuck makes you think that first part is going to be unpopular?! Geez.

Maybe it is something in the water, or most likely just the females I have surrounded myself with throughout the years - I have never met anyone, when conversation has come up, that feels the way I do. I admit, I'm fond of weirdos most of the time. :p
  • To those that are fans of Uggs: just don't break an ankle in them. One girl had to get one cut off in the ER. Cutting off a $150 shoe would make me cry, but the male nurse that did it showed no mercy.

My UO: I hate the word hubs. Way too many people say it. And if it's an abbreviation, it'd be husbs anyway. Also calling your "hubs" your best friend. "I'm marrying my best friend!" Puke.

  • I roll my eyes when women say that men do household chore or baby care things "wrong." No wonder they don't offer to help when they have someone correcting them or hovering over them to see if they'll mess up. You can't change a diaper wrong, if it hold in poop and pee what does it matter?! Who freaking cares if they dress their child in polka dots with stripes?! Just because he isn't doing it how you do it doesn't mean it's wrong. Give the guy a break, he's contributing!

PREACH IT GIRL! Huge pet peeve of mine. You have to give them confidence and allow them to figure it out their way.

But.. It's like walking on pillows! Lol, I own a pair of completely sequin covered uggs. They may be ugly to some, but dang they are comfy and warm. Like wrapping sheep around your feet.
For reals. The only problem I have is the lack of traction. If I get snow packed on them and then step out of my car onto our garage floor I almost eat shit every time.
