So after my NST this morning I decided to stop by the local maternity clothing store. I did so trying to avoid a 1.5 hour one way drive to the closest mall. I have NEVER found anything in there that comes even remotely close to fitting. And it is mostly that super trendy crap I hate anyways. (please excuse my yelling, but...) ***PAISLEY IS NEVER PRETTY!***

Well that one is ok...
So I picked out a couple of basic items to try on. Grabbed some fleece leggings, a pair of black pants, a couple of the solid color Pico shirts and one other brand that I can't remember. The other brand tried to show off the bump, but then billowed out around your boobs. Ummmm, hello? These puppies rock and I want even one to know, m k?
This served to make me look like a mushroom. The pico tops, while not greatly flattering, at least are comfortable. Oh wait, nope. The arm holes are so tiny that even starving kids in Africa get the circulation cut off! Maybe these people don't know that pregnant women tend to gain a little weight and/or swell?
Now on to the fleece leggings...they say they are one size fits all. Riiiggghhhttt. I could barely get them over my damn thighs, much less my hips!

Do these look like one size fits all to you? (Oh and this will also serve as my HDBD pic. Team Pink and Team get-the-hell-out-soon-you-little-soccer star!)
Yep, that's right, they do not even come to my belly button. I hate this stupid store! It takes real talent for them to only stock Maternity "skinny-minnie" sizes! Do they even realize they are operating in the fattest state in the nation? And do not even get me started on the ugly baby crap they stock...*shudders*
So to sum it up, this is how I am feeling today:
Thanks for letting me vent. Here is a treat for those who made it to the end:
ETA: Oh and the sales girl was walking by my dressing room as I was muttering about how ugly the stuff was. She even heard my little rant I had to myself about nothing ever fitting me in there and commented "Um well, you could always go to Walmart". Wait...is that..yup, definitely stream coming out of my ears.
Re: Maternity Store? Yeah right! Vent, GIFs, and PIP
I didn't attempt leggings. They'd prob show off my newly acquired cellulite!
I'm jealous of people that are able to pull them off!
Yup. I'd be writing an email telling them about employees encouraging people to shop elsewhere and being insensitive to their target market. I don't know the context in which she said it (and I'm probably being a little sensitive) but sounds like she's inferring, while working in a maternity store, that you are too big for their clothes. I am writing a letter to the owner about this, plus my other experiences. And I am going to tell her about just how narrow her selection is for bigger ladies. I am by no means huge (5'3" 190lbs which translates to a size 14). If I can't find something in her store to fit, what about the other plus size ladies in my area?
@cnctf Are those leggings warm? My legs are so cold right now in my motherhood maternity leggings! My areas average low temp is about 20 degrees F.
I think they take standard dress forms, put a bubble on the belly, and call it a pregnant shape. No regard for changes in breast or hip.
It's frustrating.
