I just went in for my first ultrasound today (I'm 7 weeks) and seeing the baby on the screen was amazing, but then I heard the heart beat and I thought I was going to burst into tears - but somehow managed to keep it together. This was not a planned pregnancy so I wasn't mentally prepared - I didn't even realize the baby would have a heartbeat at this point... So my mind is blown...and I'm not sure how to cope now?
Does anyone have any good recommendations for books written by reasonable specialists as a first introduction/primer? Preferably I would like to read a book by someone who is not going to tell me to stop eating practically everything tasty and that I can't exercise besides "brisk walking" (which is what my doctor said)
As someone who runs marathons and plays team sports regularly, brisk walking for 9 months is going to drive me mental!!
Re: Ultrasound freak out?
If you maintained a regular work out routine before pregnancy you may continue that routine as long as it isn't "extreme". Even running is fine. Glad that your ultrasound went well!
Savannah Mommy and Daddy can't wait to meet you.
