@embear22 I definitely read that as "shady-nasty" before I read the pronunciation of it. /:)

I worked with a guy named Univer once. He said when his dad was learning English, he was reading some kind of science book, one that has pages you unfold. He saw "univer," and I guess the "se" was on the other part of the page.

My great-grandmother was Hedwig.... they called her Heddie.

Also, I have a customer named Euchala.... pronounced "you call a" and her last name is a certain medical professional. She is in her 60s, I would have changed that a long time ago.

I actually like some of the old lady-ish names people have listed, probably b/c I have a lot of Germanic/Slavic names in my family: Bronislava, Helga, Olga. I named my cat Olga after an aunt. My mom was all "Please do not name your baby Olga." I told her there can only be one per household.
