I am half escaping to watch the parade. I look forward to it every year and it has been difficult to get this through to DH this morning even though we've spent ten years together. He seems to have finally got the idea so he and DD and MIL are in the kitchen/dining room and I'm in the living room happily watching the parade and chillin in my jammies
I usually spend all day cooking with a steady buzz from fresh squeezed OJ and Andre Extra Dry and then top it off with a large glass of red at dinner, but this is not to happen this year, so ya'll who can drink one for me please!!!!
Although, we are spending the day with DHs family who are totally normal and very nice. In all years past we have spent Thanksgiving with my family who are pretty much dark comedy material so though I want booze this year, I don't *need* it like I usually do.
DS is still napping, which is shocking. I am taking this as a blessing. This means we will get to drive over right before the thanksgiving meal without having to be around my inlaws beforehand.
I'll just go ahead and prepare everyone for the horrific stories I will have to tell after being with them. They are beyond nuts.
I usually get along well with my IL's, but they all want to give their opinions about everything concerning DD and it's really getting on my nerves. She has a runny nose and is fussy today, so of course everyone has to give their 2 cents and try to hold her/play with her when all she wants is to be left alone or held by me or DH.
I brought everything with for her to take a good nap- her fan for white noise, her PJ's, I even brought the baby monitor. And she slept for half an hour and is now awake and crying. So now she'll be miserable the rest of the day when we go to my side of the family for supper. I am so sick of her refusing to nap anywhere else and then being fussy. Days that should be fun are just frustrating now because she won't sleep away from home and I am always trying to keep her happy when she's tired. Ugh!!!

Aw man y'all. I wish I could have you all over here. My mom brought 5 bottles of wine for 6 adults. Hosting my first Thanksgiving was awesome! The best part? It's 5:30 and everyone is gone.
I'm five coronas, two glasses of wine and a sangria deep, y'all. This is a fun game. Scuse me while I grab another beer.
I'm jealous. We are apparently having a dry thanksgiving, other than the glass and a half i had with dinner at 1. DH tells me "you can have a drink, but my belly hurts, so I'm not". Ummm, yeah. I can't be the only one drinking at my in laws. That's not how it works. ETA - did I mention DH and FIL keep farting? Awesome.
Oh, girlfriend. Come on over. I just had a whole bottle. Alone. And no one is cutting the cheese.
I've actually lost track of how much wine I've had today. I've been drinking since 11am. I started with red, then switched to white and have moved on to blush, lol.
I'm at the ILs house now, we got here around 5:30. We still haven't eaten and it's already past E's bedtime. This is going to be a great time had by all tonight. Not. At least FIL hasn't made any rude or demeaning comments to me like last year. And no wine at all here. Dry. Booooooo

Y'all, it has begun. My MIL went in a tirade earlier about how men are treated so unfairly in society.
I can't make this stuff up, folks. :-S
Bahaha. She seriously said these words. And how people need to look out for men, because such awful things are said about them. She is a self-loathing woman.
Also I don't know if I have made this clear, but based on your wine consumption we would be real life best friends.

@Drea926 yessss I did. I tried to reintroduce myself a few weeks ago on a thread. I originally signed up for TB not knowing that a. the boards existed and b. I would be active on them. Figured it would be smart to not have my SN be my full name. ">

Also, I'm drinking some Pinot Grigio right now after having Sauvignon Blanc allllll day at thanksgiving.
I love sauvignon blanc. I had some with my turkey!
Also, random question- did you used to have a different screen name?
