Secret Santa gift ideas

The names have been drawn now and everyone should have had an email sent to you, or when you sign onto Elfster it will show up.

To get a better idea of our LO's sizes, likes (sports teams, tv shows) maybe a few things you absolutely HATE (giant bows for example) we can maybe just give a quick list of some info. Maybe something that you are in need of? Remember the budget though, so don't think all big and crazy :)

Eta- also, please change your name on Elfster to something that is similar to your bump name.. It will make it a lot easier for the person buying for you

JT(Jordan Truman) is a size 9months in Carter's. 6-9 in children's place. 6-9 baby gap. He has blue eyes so we love to put him in stuff that make them pop! Love baby leg warmers. We're a huge sports family: baseball : San Francisco giants and Anaheim angels. football: Kansas City chiefs basketball: Phoenix suns. He loves the song what does the fox say? So we've been collecting fox stuff too! He loves bright colored toys that make some sort of noise! We also love Disney. He will definitely be going there in December!

We have WAY too many stuffed animals. So we really don't need those. I'm also not as big of a fan of putting him in stuff that says "mommy's hero" or "daddy's little guy", makes me feel vain or defensive like he's his own person. Not my anything. Oh and his head is HUGE. So I would NOT recommend a hat, it's very hit and miss to fit.

    We' re so excited!!
(God I hope this wasn't too long, that it's helpful not annoying. Sorry secret Santa)
  • Just fyi you can make wishlists on elfster and put in that info :)

But I want to know what EVERYONE wants. Mwahahahaha

All I got out of the wish lists were random things that I could tag. Just figured it would be faster if the 20 people wrote on here real quick it might be faster for us.
  • If I wanted to find a user so I could stalk the things they've posted, is there a way to search somehow? I don't know the full BMB name, only part of it. . . .

Lily has outgrown 3 month clothing, so any size over that! I don't really like massive bows, any color is fine. The theme in her room is owls (or any bird I guess) deers... So animals lol. Tights and leg warmers are wonderful :) hmm. She's not fussy :x

  • @KatieR2310 I keep forgetting our babies have the same name!

I guess I should actually post ideas instead of making a fool of myself.

She's in 3-6s but anything bigger would be fine. She loves things to chew on. We don't have many books, so that's also a thought. Honestly I'm SO excited to be getting mail you could send us anything!

After Christmas do we get to AW all our gifts? Or is that too much like showing off?

Liam is just now fitting in 3-6 month clothes. If it is the style with just 3 months or 6 months I would go with 6. I added a few outfits to my wish list but couldn't pick the size.

  • Hmmmm... I love personalized things, ornaments, etc. His full name is Joel Henry and our last name starts with a B. We have a ton of toys and clothes although some more zipper sleepers would be great since my H has trouble with the snaps (he was the lucky one that got the carpal tunnel while I was pg). He is wearing 9 months now, but those are getting tight.

We like Auburn (H's grad school) and Purdue (my undergrad) things.

    I love getting mail!

  • Since the "due date" is 12/15, let's make a plan for an AW/thank you post on 12/17? That will allow 2 days for you last minute slackers and a chance for everyone to open their gift and have a pic ready to share. It would also allow for anyone to call out a secret santa who dropped the ball....

Is that the due date that it needs to be sent by? Actually receiving the gifts might take a bit longer.

  • @zever000 aww thanks. I just have so much on my plate, I really didn't want to say yes and then flake out. That would be such a jerk move. Usually this type of thing is right up my alley! I will live vicariously through my doppelgänger.

Good call. I assumed that was the "receive by" date, but I'm a special kind of stupid on this Elfster website. Maybe let's do it on Christmas Eve, then? Or is everyone going to be busy with family?

I'm sure I could find a spare moment over the 23rd or 24th if that works for everyone else.
I guess just take a picture when you get your gift and have it ready to post for whenever the thread comes up.

Also @LokiLahve fwiw I never expect return gifts ;)

That was the deadline for sending the gift :D I figured since the ladies in the US have thanksgiving, it would give them a chance to eat turkey and then find a present if they haven't by then. I'm assuming everyone is excited (I know I am!) and are probably going to send them way before then though!!! If that's the case we will totally do a AW thread ASAP.

  • Charlie is currently in 3-6 month clothing. We are Oregon Duck fans all the way. Because DH is an Alaskan commercial fisherman, our nursery theme is a cross between ocean and Alaska animals. We have tons of clothes, but would love one piece footed sleepers or developmentally appropriate toys. He's almost 3 months old.
    So excited!!!

  • I agree with AWing as we get them or I may be the one with mommy brain who forgets later. :)
  • Personally, I love the wishlist feature.
  • And I'm not sure how easy it will be for me to stick to the budget. Oops.
  • Aubrey loves anything that lights up. She is particularly fond of stuffed animal-type things that she can drag around that light up/make noise. My MIL buys her far too many clothes, so she is good on those lol

I used it more as a guide line than a rule...
Then I may have laughed at that guide line while pretending it didn't exist.
