Grrr...I just need to vent a bit

This is my third pregnancy and let's face it... My bump started about two weeks after we found out we were expecting. My body remembers and was just like woohoo!! Relax time! That being said, I'm 11w2d and have hit that point where I'm not not feeling great, not comfortable in this in-between normal clothes and maternity clothes, kinda plump and look more preggo than I am. I recognize that I'm über sensitive and that it's completely normal.

However, if one more person asks me if we're having twins because I look, and I quote "HUGE" imma smack someone!! People have no idea how frustrating it is to be told your huge and must be carrying more than one. I respond with no, I'm just really a great vessel for big and healthy babies, now leave me alone because I'm pregnant and moody and I'm pretty sure you just called me fat...a*^hole.

Whew...I feel better now

  • My parents keep telling me I'm having triplets because I'm so big so soon with this, and it's only my second!  I told them that if I'm having triplets, we'll have to sell the house, I'll have to quit work, and we'll be moving in with them. Shut them both up.  Sorry it's bugging you!!

  • I soooo feel your pain. Why do people feel like it's acceptable to comment on someone's body just because they're pregnant???

One of my student's mothers said, "You must be having a girl this time...you are ALL girl" as she's staring at my ass! I'm 11 weeks, I've gained 3 lbs, and my ass always looks like this!
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one getting it from people, it's just crazy how people forget that it can be a bit hurtful to be so blunt you know? I think the next person that asks when I'm due and what I'm having, I'll just kindly tell them I'm not pregnant, just to see their reaction!
  • Be happy you look pregnant. I just look fat.

  • I am the same way. I'm on my third pregnancy too and many of my high school students remind me daily how large I am. I just gain an enormous amount of weight! Everyone is just jealous because it's socially unacceptable for them to gain weight but you can! ;)
  • Oh dear, sorry to hear people are treating you this way. Why do people think it's ok to ask it it's twins or not based upon the size of bellies?

  • I'm glad it don't work in healthcare anymore. Everyday towards the end of my last pregnancy patients would comment on my weight, size, ask me how much weight I had gained, tell me how aweful c sections and child birth is ect. Now I'm home with my kids and they are so much more fun and they don't judge :)
  • Ugh! People have no filter. When I was pregnant with my first so many people made the "you sure it isn't twins?" joke and sometimes I would laugh and other times I felt so sad. I had one person say to me on a Facebook photo "I'm so shocked that someone your size could get SO huge!". Ouch.

This time around I'm 10 weeks but still haven't gained any weight. My mom asked me a few days ago how many pounds I've gained. I proudly said "I weighed myself this morning and I haven't gained any weight yet!" and she just laughed and said "the scale must be off because you've certainly gained weight on your stomach"

    Ummmm? Thanks mom...
  • Oh I rememebered another one! When my son was 3 months old I had an appointment with the eye doctor and told her I was on maternity leave. Her response was "oh I was going to ask but decided not to. How far along are you?"

    Oh boy.
  • I would respond to people, I may be pregnant but what's our excuse. People's ignorant comments make me stabby. I'm 10 weeks and already have a considerable stomach, this is my second child. I'm sure my body is also like woo hoo time to make a baby again. I've had people ask me also if it's twins. If I'm feeling nice I day well we had an ultrasound and it's definitely one. I trust my DOCTOR there's only one
