Yes, but just about every big corporate head has done something sneaky or bad in the past. People do not talk about it because it doesn't directly effect the product they've put out. I do not care about Walt's past. If you actually looked in the old Disney movies, when he was alive, you can see by the way some characters were portrayed that he didn't like people who weren't white. But Disney still puts out great movies.

What about how Disney is taking away perks for special needs families because their employees abused them??

My sister has a severely autistic son. I bet she'd love the normalcy of waiting in long lines without him freaking out. Instead it's not going to be an option at Disney bc of this decision - making any possible trips ten times harder, and even more upsetting when you have another child who doesn't have these struggles.

This has nothing to do with my own UO - just pointing out another side to your argument.

I just saw a thing on this -- not about employees abusing, but about families HIRING special needs "guides" (like, literally hiring a kid in a wheelchair) to come on vacation with them, just so they could butt to the front of the lines. HORRIBLE! Who DOES that?!

And... believe me, corporations get called out ALL. THE. TIME for the bonehead things their CEOs do... and it DOES have an impact -- a major one, often -- on sales and corporate reputation... I live this every day...

That said, I buy apple stuff and watch disney movies, and I don't necessarily thing people should stop, I just think it is an interesting "non fairy tale" part of the story that never gets talked about, like it never happened.

I did marry my best friend, don't be a hater. ;-) I still consider him my best friend and he tells me all the time I am his. I guess it depends on what your definition of a "best friend" is. The only other person who is my best friend is my sister and I'm sure she feels fine with me not marrying her. I do think it's cliche but for me it's also true.

You seem like a nice lady and please don't take this too personally, but ughhh! I hate when people say stuff like that, too. SO cheesy. But I am not an overly romantic, lovey-dovey type of person.

Occasionally I will shorten up texts if I am in a huge hurry...and I'm an English teacher! But generally I type everything out and punctuate correctly.

ETA: I also SUCK at typing text messages on my phone, so it takes me forever.

This isn't entirely true. They are *changing* the policy to make it harder for people to abuse. People with legitimate medical concerns will still get accommodations, but the people who literally rent someone in a wheel chair off the Orlando Craig's List can't just line jump all day.

I'm curious about your sources because Walt Disney was most certainly NOT a Nazi sympathizer. The dude turned his studio into a propaganda machine about how Nazis were basically the devil; have you ever watched any of the WWII shorts? Mr. Disney was racist, just like almost every other white person pre-1960 but being racist =/= thinking Hitler had the right idea.
I don't care if it's unpopular to love Disney movies, etc.; I'd rather watch a family film that is appropriate for my daughter than a lot of the sexually charged trash that's made nowadays.

I read a LOT of Disney trivia and have watched many of the old shorts and such, so while I knew about racism in older Disney works, I'd never heard the accusation of "Nazi sympathizer" before.
