I have a payday-inspired one. I think that employers should be required to pay their employees weekly. Bi-weekly or monthly is too much of a stretch for many working families, even with planning and budgeting.

I can't stand when people don't pay their bills and/or comply with billing policies. I have somany dancers in my program whose parents don't pay their monthly fee but still send their daughter to class. It's not the kid's fault that their parent didn't pay so I don't take it out on them. Or policy is that any payment received after the tenth of the month gets charged a $5 late fee. I always have parents that try to fight me in this and it just ticks me off. Many of these people are friends of mine so it's just awkward. Just pay your bill for crying outloud! I'm offering a service that you are choosing to take part in.

JFK really wasn't so great and I'm sick of hearing about him. I live in the DFW area so it's on tv daily because it's the 50th anniversary of his death. We get it. [-(

You have to put your foot down about late fees and missed payments as uncomfortable as it is. After the 10th, I would hand a reminder notice every time they bought their kid. Hopefully, receiving the notices will be enough to make them pay. If it doesn't, send escalating notices. After 30 days of missed payments their kid can't return until all fees are paid.

Did I miss anything? I remember that baby carrots, hot dogs and popcorn were mentioned but that's kind of typical chocking food, isn't it? Who would give a baby carrot to a baby? Ah, it is kind of scary.

I think baby clothes are overrated. Haddock wears a lot of the same stuff, usually sleepers (because they are easy and comfortable) until he outgrows them. I don't mind doing laundry and he doesn't mind wearing the same thing. @etoille

@Dccornel someone said the same thing to me and I still can't stop thinking about it. My appt isn't until Dec 12.

My UO: I like the Duggars for a lot of reasons. I do disagree with some of their parenting choices, but I also respect things like the way they dress, their financial philosophy, and the fact that they don't use artificial BC. I will say though, that I think NFP/FAM are ok and while I do want a lot of kids you can bet that we are going to be more careful in the future and have more space in between so we don't end up with 19. I could handle 8, 10 maybe 12, but DH would need a few raises.

My SO used to be all muscle, then he started working for himself and doesn't have time for all that exercise. I don't mind the extra cushion and it makes me feel better about my own body

Preach Mama preach!! I could've written this too. I think most of us have enough common sense to know when CIO is or isn't appropriate. If you join TB for knowledge about your LO, hopefully you care enough not to neglect/damage your kid.

Also, my son has a sleeper that has skulls and crossbones on it, I freaking HATE it, totally not my style...it was a joke from a friend. He wears it, but only at home, lol. Who makes crap like that for little babies? It's so un babyish.

I saw a kid with a hoodie on like this. I thought it was part of a halloween costume. My DD said a lot of boys in her school wear it.

As a teacher, I totally agree with this. All children do not learn in the same way...but the frustration and the struggle comes in when they all have to be tested in the same way. It is the worst! So I teach all different ways to target different learning styles, but at the end of the day...they have to take the same, ridiculously stupid standardized tests that are all the same...sigh.

That's why you put it on him when he hasn't pooped for a few days and hope for a blowout. That way you aren't ruining clothes you like.

You receive more radiation from exposure the sun, flying in an airplane, or eating a banana than you do being near a nuclear plant. They've done studies on the people living near Chernobyl and there are no increased risks of cancer or fertility issues.

You maybe right but every person on their block has had some form of cancer. It just makes me nervous.. I'm not saying they aren't needed .

I don't think their cancer is coincidental, but I would look at other environmental factors first. I work in the industry with a lot of people who have worked at these plants for their entire careers (there's a lot of 60+ guys in this industry), and I can't think of too many of them who have had cancer.

I would be wiping my kid's face raw if I did that. It's seriously non-stop like a faucet and has been since he was about two months old. @mrshudson618, I have no problem with NFP. I know a lot of people who use that method. My (and most people's) problem comes with the other parts of their Quiverfull beliefs, which is that 1) chemical birth control is the equivalent of abortion and 2) infertility should be viewed as "God's plan" and that infertility treatments are wrong and the children of those treatments are not a blessing. (Though, even NFP to some of the people in the movement is wrong because you are potentially subverting God's will by avoiding the fertile week.)

Also, their Quiverfull leader (or whatever they call them, but the guy that they said they supported) has stated that part of the reason for having so many children is that they can then train them to vote for the right "God-fearing" candidates. The belief is that eventually, there will be enough of them that they will be able to "take back" the country.

There are a lot of other similar testimonies and stories out there, including some about how women should not be allowed to vote.

I also think that there is a big difference between being open to as many children as God gives you and having as many as physically possible.

And there are other crazies out there in other religions too. My BIL is infertile and since they are Catholic and don't like the idea of sperm donation, he and my SIL are pursuing adoption. SIL's dad thinks that since they can't have biological children then that is God's plan and they shouldn't adopt either. WTF?

Needless to say they aren't on speaking terms.

I don't understand the allure of Dancing With The Stars, The Voice or AI. I've tried to sit through them and no dice.

Also, I'm not a fan of the Walking Dead or any other type of zombie flick. I love Halloween and The Addams Family, but for whatever reason zombie stuff just doesn't work for me. It creeps me out.

Finally, I really don't like it when people freak out about baby milestones. Your kid will get there when they get there. There is no prize for rolling, walking whatever-ing first. Your kid is not doomed if they don't walk until 18 months. Chill out.

My favorite show about multiples (what...don't you have a favorite show about multiples?) made me slightly sad because the Dad quoted the quiver full bible verse. I don't think they are quiver full followers, but I wanted to tell him he sounded crazy.

@Butternut87 You should see the bandana bibs! I also was not a bib fan and almost never put one on DS, but then I saw bandana bibs and fell in love with them. They don't look like a bib, it totally looks like an accessory and make an outfit look really cute. My friend has an etsy shop and made several for me. DD wears them frequently now and I get tons of compliments.

My UO is that I like matchy-match outfits for a family. DH and I have matching sweatshirts for universities, sports teams, etc. It's fun! I love the family pictures from growing up where we all had on the same color outfits. It doesn't have to be exact, but if LO has siblings, I'm going to get a kick out of dressing them similarly.

I have to admit picking what LO is going to wear each day is one of my favourite parts of the day. He only wears footed onesies at night.

Exactly this. I love it. I have a week of outfits set out at any given time but I always go back through them at night and confirm yes/no.

I will admit he is a lot more formal for school than weekends though.

Yup, this too. I love picking out both kids clothes and put some thought into it. I don't necessarily have the week planned out, but usually a few days ahead. DS is 2.5 and the novelty of doing this has still not worn off for me!

@maryannespier - we really need to start recycling like France does, it would cut down on so much waste. Unfortunately a byproduct of that process is plutonium and we just aren't as mature as the French so we can't have that stuff. (Insert sarcasm font)
