**My apologies, but I'm unable to do individual updates this week - internet is down indefinitely at home and work is proving just too darn busy to sneak an hour or two in on TB. Please update through replies and I'll do my best to comment on everyone's posts as I can! >:D<
Welcome to TTC After Loss. I'm so sorry for your loss but am happy you have found us. ((hugs)) This board is full of brilliant and kind women who have experienced the hardship of losing that which is most precious, and I hope you find great comfort and support here in your journey to your rainbow baby!
For those of you so new you don't know the routine, this is a checkin for newer members of the TTCAL Board. My board name is gscoville, but you can just call me G or GS if you prefer something shorter. Please feel free to use this space to ask those "newbie" questions that feel intimidating to ask on the main board, I will try my best to get you an answer.
Please take the time to read the TTCAL blog to answer any questions you may have regarding our board etiquette, TTC, miscarriages & loss, and much more: https://www.ttcalblog.blogspot.com/ If you are a checkin regular and get a BFP, please PM me so that I can add it to the weekly checkin with a warning for other members.
Finally, if you haven't done so, please post your introduction on the main board including your story.
Weekly Update: How are you doing? Post an update including any news, thoughts, or questions - let me know how things are going for you!
Quote of the Week:
Question of the Week: In honour of the Thanksgiving gluttony that is coming up for my American friends - if you could have an endless supply of any food, what would it be and why?
I could seriously live on mashed potatoes and gravy - given the opportunity I'd dive face first into a huge bowl of it just like they do in the movies!

All ALers welcome!
I would love pie. I can always eat that.
@ktlovess welcome back to the bump. Will you be joining us again? I'm sorry you've had such a rough go since your loss.
I have a couple of stories I would like to share this week. Two in particular that made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
First, I work as a retail manager so, of course, this time of year we get more complaints because people are rushed, angry and frustrated because it's busy in store and whatever else they have going on in their lives. I try and let certain situations roll off my back because I never know what is going on in their private lives that's causing them to be so angry at me or my associates. Without going into too much detail I had my first "irrate" customer of the holiday season. Needless to say she has caused us a couple days of hassle and just overall rudeness toward us. It really bothered me because I look at what she's argueing over and I can't believe that someone is making such a big deal over something that a)isn't our fault and b) so ridiculous. I was a little worked up about it but kept my cool because I don't like my employees to see me rattled over situations like that. This happened over the weekend. what made me feel warm and fuzzy was the same day I had a woman with a REAL problem that i was able to service her and make her happy. So happy that SHE HUGGED ME. She was so thankful for my service and told me how great I was. Then, a second customer said the same thing! I went out of my way to help her with a problem she had (again, not something we did on our end but something I was easily able to fix by taking a little extra time out of my day to help her). She was walking to the front of the store telling me how wonderful I was and that I provided such great customer service and thanked me for going out of my way to help. I just felt so great at the end of the day because no matter how rude and obnoxious the first lady was, I had 2 others that more than made up for it.
My second story is TTCAL related. I finished my first cycle back at TTC and I got a BFN and this morning started CD1. I was bummed and it definitely stung. I guess I was just hopeful that it happened right away my first time trying that it would happen again after the loss. I am (as far as I know) the only one at my work that is trying to conceive at the moment. A couple people know (not about the loss but that we are trying) and one employee who does know paged me to call her. She told me she had found a pregnancy test on a shelf in my kitchen department. I work in a bed, bath, kitchen store so absolutely no where would anyone buy any personal items like that. I went over to see her and it was a first response unopened pregnancy test. How random that she found it on a shift I was working and thought of me? I don't know if anyone believes in signs or higher beings and maybe I'm looking too far into this but getting a BFN and waiting for AF to show, this made me keep hope that at some point DH and I will get our happy ending.
It's my 28th birthday tomorrow. DH and I are going out for dinner tonight and then going to his parents place for dinner tomorrow night.I hope they make meatloaf
QOTW: If I had an endless supply of any food it would be my chicken and rice meal. It's not Thanksgiving related but hands down my all time favourite meal. I could (and do sometimes) eat it breakfast, lunch and dinner. haha
I hope you all have a great week! (((hugs))) all around

@gscoville yuck for internet being down! Hope you're having a good week!
@courtney1741 @abryars I LOVE home renos... We bought our house last oct and totally re did EVERYTHING!
I've had a so so week... I'm a week out from d&c and completely pad free (yay)... Weird thing... I know. I had extremely minimal spotting and only 2 days of bleeding that was due to a clot that needed to be passed. Once that happened, bleeding and cramping has stopped and now we wait... I also found out his week that I have a bicornuate ute... This was a crazy ordeal as the nurse was under the assumption that I already knew, mentioned it nonchalantly, freaked me out sending me to dr. Google... Insert emotional mess here. After another call back and a demand for info to tie me over to my post op I was told it isn't a severe dipple, doesn't need surgery, wasn't the cause of my mc and should not affect any future pregnancies... Phew.
ETA: stuffing.... I love stuffing... With gravy... I officially can't wait to get fat next week!
Happy early birthday!

@abryars glad you had some good customers to show you you're appreciated! Happy early birthday!! Sorry af came.
@courtney1741 fx for O! Exciting about your kitchen!
@jlworden710 sorry for all your stress this week! Glad it wasn't as bad as dr google made it out to be.
@meagpt22 good luck waiting until Thursday and fx for a BFP!
I am officially at the 10 week mark. It sucks. I ended up having a v us last week at a fertility clinic too. My bloodwork results seems to be spelling out PCOS I need to call back to the clinic when I am cd1 to get more bloodwork done. So they said to wait two more weeks and if I don't get af than I'll go on provera. The v us results showed that it didn't seem like I've ovulated. So I started doing opks and had a strong positive Sunday but no temp rise yet so I don't know, Ugh! So the wait continues but maybe a plan and more answers are in my future. I'm trying very hard to not get frustrated...
Mine would be pizza. I could eat it everyday!
Hugs to all who need them this week!

Hello lovely ladies!
We're knee deep in our first TTC cycle post-loss. Had a +OPK this morning, so H and I will be humping it out tonight and possibly tomorrow. I don't want wear ourselves out, but it's so hard for me when I get a + not to start humping all the time! More is more, right?
Anyway. I was feeling a bit indifferent about TTC again, but getting that + really lifted my spirits. We needed an IUI to get pregnant, but you never know, right?
QOTW: If calories were not an issue, I'd eat pumpkin pie with fresh whipped cream. Yuuuuum!

I have not been temping as we are not clear until next cycle to TTC, but I can tell my body is gearing to "O" by my CM and ovulation pain. Right on track with my kindara chart and pre loss cycles. I'm cycle day 12 right now and almost always o on 14. My last HCG was 8 and she is still wanting me to come in to track it down to less than 5. I guess I'm thankful she is being so thorough but my poor veins! I work crazy shifts at the hospital and don't want the stress of temping. What is the general concensus of the board in regards to BD every other day? Any thoughts?
QOTW: I really like guacamole. I could eat chips and guacamole all day. Washed down with diet dr. pepper and followed by cake batter ice cream from coldstone. Yup...all of that
@jlworden710 I'm very, very happy
that your uterus isn't going to cause you any problems and that you don't have to have surgery!
@abryars I'm so sorry for the BFN and I hope you still enjoy your birthday!
@courtney1741 I demand pictures! Have fun this weekend
@meagpt22 you can do it! GL for Thursday!
@tvandewi I'm sorry for the 10 week mark. I'm so sorry for the extra stress. FX you get answers from the blood work after cd1. (((Hugs)))
@bonnesetter27 I hope you are gearing up to "O!" my little cousin also had a miscarriage. As much as you don't want someone you love to experience it, it is nice to have someone IRL to talk to about everything.
@mmnumber5 sorry for the evil cramps and migraines. What a crappy combo. Feel better soon!

No updates for me, CD10 and waiting for O. I think I am going to make this my last Newbie post, it's been almost 6 months since I joined the board. Thank you so much for all the support you all have given me.
QOTW: that's a tough one, I couldn't survive without chocolate or bread.
@mmnumber5 sorry about the cramps and migraines, they are the worst.
@bonnesetter27 Fingers crossed you get the positive OPK soon!
@abryars I spent many years in retail and don't miss those mean bitter customers at all, I do miss the great one though. Happy Birthday! I hope you had a great dinner with DH.
@courtney1741 I bet you are glad the kitchen is almost done, you definitely need to post pics. Have fun HIWP!!
@jlworden710 ((hugs)) sorry the nurse totally freaked you out today but I am glad to hear it's not a severe case.
@meagpt22 GL with testing, I hope tomorrow flies by.
@tvandewi ((hugs)) sorry to hear about the PCOS diagnosis, hopefully AF shows soon. To make breaks on an iPad put the following on the lines you want blank but without the spaces: < br > < br >
@sunlavender Yeah +OPK!!
@libby+Nate if you can BD every other day then that is a great option. You will have a bit of uncertainly though as you might not know exactly when you ovulate and should test

My brief intro:
I recently had my first pregnancy, first loss. I'm 28. MMC at 15 weeks on sept 19- tried to natural MC (I was sure that everything was out but at my ultrasound-- everything was still completely intact..) had a D&c on sept 27. Had my first cycle nov 5. Just waiting on confirmation that my levels are back to zero and a second cycle to start trying... Sigh
The last picture is the paint color I am thinking of painting the walls! And there will be a dark cork floor and white subway tiles with gray grout going up still, along with stainless appliances

Bad: I've got a head cold and my husband is out of town all week so even if I do ovulate I think our chances this month are pretty slim
I love to bake so my biggest weakness is chocolate chip cookies. Mmmmm delicious straight out of the oven.
@Courtney1741 its amazing what some simple renovations can do to spruce up a kitchen. I spent last summer painting my cabinets and this summer we got new countertops and I put in the backsplash. I did the white subway tiles and grey grout and it makes the kitchen look so much better. Good luck!
@abryars I love stories like that. They revive my faith in humanity.
@courtney1741 Your kitchen looks great! I love a good reno.
@jlworden710 I am so sorry to hear about the ute. I hope that you get answers soon.
@meagpt22 I have the hardest time when I lay in bed in the morning. I only test in the morning and it is those first 10 minutes of the morning when I have to be the strongest.
@tvandewi I am at 9 weeks now, So I can totally feel the frustration. ((hugs))
@sunlavendar We bd every day that I have a +opk and 2 days after.
@libby+nate As I said we bd every other day until we get a +opk.
@kalynn12 Sorry to see you go. Best wishes.
@Fitmamainprogress I know that the waiting to try is hard ((hugs))
@kate6214 sorry for the bad timing but at least your body is working!
Update on me: I finally got a +OPK on Saturday. FF gave me cross hairs for Sat, but changed them to Sun. We had good timing so we shall see.

@mmnumber5 - ((HUGS))
@Bonnesetter27 - I hope that you O soon!
@abryars - Wow, what a trying time for you! I'm glad that some customers are very appreciative of your service. ((HUGS)) for CD1!
@Courtney1741 - I would guess that you ovulated CD18. A couple more days of high temps and FF will give you cross hairs! FX for you!
@jlworden710 - I'm so sorry that the nurse created a panic attack for you! I'm glad that the diagnosis isn't as bad as you first thought!
@meagpt22 - FX for you!!!
@tvandewi - ((HUGS)) I hope you get some answers soon!
@sunlavender - Congrats on the +OPK and I know what you mean about wanting to go nuts HIO just to increase the chances. Are you still seeing an RE?
@libby+nate - I hope you O right on schedule. From my experience here, BDing EOD seems like the most favorable.
@kalynn12 - FX you O on time! Will miss you on the check-in!
@FitMamaInProgress - ((HUGS)) Sorry for your loss!

My Ovulation Chart
I FINALLY ovulated at CD54! I really thought I was going to lose my mind. I got a OPK that was slightly darker than the test line last night and this morning it was much much darker. DH and I HIO two nights ago and last night. He said he's up for one more night tonight too...bless his heart
Even if nothing comes from this cycle, but AF that will still be a win considering I thought my body had completely shutdown.
GTKYQ: I could cheesy potatoes, or potatoes in almost any form forever. I love them
@mmnumber5 - Hope you feel better soon!!
@bonnestter27 - Sorry to hear about your cousin, but I understand feeling better knowing that you aren't alone, especially with family, in your loss
@abryars - Happy Birthday!! Sorry you had such a rough day, but glad someone took the time to recognize your hard work! Sorry about your BFN, too
@courtney1741 - Good luck and have fun with DH this week
@jlworden710 - SO glad to hear that the bicornuate isn't anything to worry about!!
@meagpt22 - Hold strong!! FX for a BFP for you
@tvandewi - BIG hugs. I struggle with PCOS too, it seems so hard to have to deal with that on top of a loss. I hope that you get AF before you even have to see a doctor though.
@sunlavender - Have fun with DH! FX for you!
Libby+Nate - Personally, I BD everyday around O, but I rely on OPKs and then secondary signs as well. My surge is quite long (usually 36 hours) so we BD the night I get my first positive OPK and the next night as well. Good luck!!
@kalynn12 - I'm thinking about heading out soon as well. I hope your stay on TTCAL is super short!
@fitmamainprogress - Welcome to the check in!
@kate6218 - I could eat chocolate chip cookies all day long too
@rmpar29 - High five for positive OPKs!
@megrae12 - Hugs to you. I'm sorry you've had such a rough go at things lately. I know it's so hard to be on the BCP, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully you won't be on it much longer.

@gs - I don’t like that work is getting in the way of you being able to bump – that’s not fair – you should speak to someone about that LOL
My update for the week – hm….waiting waiting waiting. DH is waiting on his 12/6 appt with his new PCP to get blood test to see if he is a Cystic Fibrosis carrier. I am waiting on my 11/26 appt with a Maternal Fetal Specialist at my doc’s recommendation. Oh we did find out the results of the testing from my MMC and it was Trisomy 9 – that is what prompted the appointment with the specialist.
Question of the Week: In honour of the Thanksgiving gluttony that is coming up for my American friends - if you could have an endless supply of any food, what would it be and why? I guess it would be fried chicken – it’s been my favorite food since I can remember.
@mmnumber5 – Friday is taking forever to come! What time is your appointment?
@bonnesetter27 I think that makes perfect sense. I wish all the time that my mom was still alive so that I could discuss this with her. She had multiple MC’s and I know that she would understand. My sisters are great but they never dealt with this.
@abryars Boo to CD1 and BFN! I love that meatloaf is your favorite birthday meal.
@courtney1741 and @sunlavender Enjoy the HIO!
@jlworden710 I had missed the update on what the doctor’s office said – so happy that it’s not a big deal! My DH thinks I have an issue with internet sites too!
@meagpt22 Fx for testing tomorrow!
@tvandewi I hope you get some answers soon.
@libby+nate I haven’t been temping either – I never have before but this board has almost convinced me to start (even went and got the thermometer) but I’m afraid it will add more stress and I’m afraid that I won’t get the timing right because of my sleep patterns. I don’t really wake up coherently enough to realize that I’m doing until about 6:30am but I’m in and out from the time DH’s alarm goes off at 5:30am. Thanks for asking the question about EOD – I had the same.
@fitmamainprogress What were your levels at when you had your first cycle?
@kate6214 Boo to head colds! I think I’m getting one – my throat is sore and my eyes were watery last night. Hope you feel better soon.
@rmpar29 Fx!
@megrae12 – Thank goodness for no hernia!
@stasi Yay for ovulating! No advice for you on when to HIO – if you didn’t think you would last until tomorrow, I would say go for it because what could it hurt but if you think it will last until tomorrow, then maybe you should wait?
@megrae12 I'm glad you don't have a hernia. I know someone going for that surgery soon. It's painful. I think the next month will go by very quickly (with it being so close to Christmas) and before you know it, you can stop the BCP. (((hugs)))
@Stasi YAY for O'ing!!!! Better late than never;) I'm so glad your body is finally doing something and next cycle is much shorter for you
@ktlovess see you next week!
@peggels24 I hope your appts bring you answers and are able to help you move forward. I love meatloaf so much. It's an easy meal to make so it's not a hassle to anyone making it for me.
Thank you all again for the birthday love
