Re: FFFC

  • I have road rage, daily. Only when commuting to and from work though. Never with the boys in the car.

I really like this board but a lot of time I am rolling my eyes and thinking how much drama women are.

I don't care that your baby STTN just like you probably don't care that mine doesn't.

  • My husband gets the horrific things called cluster headaches. They are like a migraine on steroids but they typically go away faster. He started having them this week and they come on at night about an hour after he falls asleep (very much a biological clock driven thing)

My FFFC: I normally feel horrible for him as he lays there writhing in pain, but last night I had the thought that I was glad he was missing out on some of his sleep. I feel horrible for thinking it, as he really is the most helpful person ever and would get up to help if I asked.

  • My MIL keeps sending me FB messages every week "thanking" me for being a good mom to LO. I really just want to write back "does she expect me to be anything less than a good mother?" And I'm not doing HER any favors by being a good mother to MY child. Ugh that woman rubs me the wrong way. Instead I just ignore the posts.

  • We might have the same MIL.  Luckily mine isn't on facebook.  She does comment on EVERY instagram photo I post though...

I blocked her from seeing anything I post on FB and also from posting to my wall because she will post multiple times on every picture and she's one of those that has to put !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after everything!!!!!!!! She still hasn't taken the hint and instead pm's me now.

  • We went to a wedding last month and didn't take a gift. I forgot to get one before we went, and should have bought one when we got home but kept putting it off. I really need to do that today. It was a small wedding, it's not like it wasn't noticed :-S

  • Oooooo Jill thats bad!

Speaking of, I still haven't sent thank you cards for most of the stuff we received after LO was born...
Crap. Me, too. I have the envelopes addressed with no cards in them. Ugh

  • Since we are somewhat on the topic of sleep here's my confession: I have no intentions of putting E to bed before 9pm for a long time. I work 8-6, and by the time I get home and get my milk put away and everything unpacked it's almost 7. If I put him to bed at 7:30/8:00 the only interaction I'd get is when I'm feeding him and I couldn't do that. I need that time to be with my boy. It's hard enough when I get home and he naps until 7:30 :(

Samesies. Bedtime here is between 9 and 9:30, even for my 3-year-old. Always had been, always will be, lest I never spend time with my boys.

  • I talk constantly at work. When I get home I don't wanna talk. So I don't talk to LO as much anymore. We play, but I don't say much.

And I can't stand baby talk. I talk to him like I would a 4/5 yr old. Not that made up words high pitched voice.

It's closer to 10 here. DH works 10-8, if I put Ezra down before he gets home, their only interaction would be MOTN diaper changes and about 20 minutes in the morning

  • My ILs are coming this weekend. MIL sent an e-mail telling me to "pump those tatas" so she can babysit and we can all go to the movies. Then said "I'm so excited for some alone time with my boy!!!!!!!". Ugh. I've only left the baby 3 times, and each time he was with DH. Three and a half months later, I'm not ready to leave him yet. Especially not to go to the movies JUST to give MIL alone time with the baby.

As I recall, this became a hot topic back when we were all preggers...

Really? I don't remember that. It's on my mind bc my sis was here and that's all she freaking did. Nothing was a proper name, it was a mangled version on it

LO doesn't go to bed until 11-11:30, when we go to bed.  DH works until 8:30-9pm usually.  He goes to work at 9am, and usually wakes up, showers, and goes to work.  If I put her to bed any earlier than when we go to bed, the only interaction they would have would be on the days he is off, which is often only 1 day a week.  Because she goes to sleep later, we usually are up at 5:30 or so, and then up for the day around 9.

Car seat, triple strapped to the seat. Any other way means you don't love your baby.
Confession: my baby is actually my 7 year old weiner dog.
And, as you know, I don't actually have a baby.

  • DH has a ball python, Percy, that's been around since his college days. Percy currently resides in our laundry. Each time I go in and find him out of his hiding place a sunning himself on his heat rock I'm disappointed this wasn't the time he finally died. I am so tired of having to take care of the damn thing.

Could someone please explain to me the phenomenon of MILs wanting alone time with our LOs.  IT BLOWS MY MIND.  Seriously, why do you need alone time?
Pretty sure it's so they can feed them rice cereal and ice cream. ;-)

You might be trying to make a joke, but with my MIL I wouldn't doubt it.

"I just wanted to give him his first taste of ice cream!"

When I told my MIL that LO won't take a bottle she suggested giving her a sippy cup with juice. When I said no she said to try mashed potatoes to keep her full if I went out. I was ready to bitch slap her.

Needless to say my LO will never be alone with her.

  • This is bad I know... Flame Away!!

MIL has had the flu for 2 weeks. I truly hate that she's sick and hope she gets better soon. BUT.... It sure has been peaceful on the homefront knowing that she's sick and can't come visit.

  • Well I do the pitch changes and change my voice in response to LOs face. But I guess it's really the made up words, shortening of words, and all that I don't do.

Calling a bottle "ba-ba," pacifier "paki," a diaper a "dipey." Just use the word.
