I seriously contemplated keying a woman's car in the TJ's parking lot today after she honked at me because I was apparently taking too long for her liking to put Ezra in the Ergo and get out of the parking spot she wanted. The only thing stopping me was that it was a busy lot, and is patrolled by city police on the regular.

What a bitch!! I woulda taken even longer and maybe flipped her the bird!! Bc I'm a lady like that.eta: just saw you did that. You rock!

I roll my eyes at Mums who say their baby sleeps through the night, only to find out they put them down at midnight and they're up at 5.30-6am. My baby would sleep through the night (and more) too if I went by this timing.

7:30-8pm to 7am here! My baby STTN. :) Woot

THIS is sleeping through the night! Yay for your LO MommyAmes2.

Why does it matter what time they go to bed? Some babies nap a lot during the day and won't go down until later. That's still considered STTN to me *shrugs*
It doesn't matter, per se, but it's not sleeping through the night when a baby goes to bed at what is nearly the start if the morning. I also think it's misleading and disheartening for other Mums to hear sometimes when they believe they're doing the right thing trying for a true full nights sleep for baby.

And before I get the 'jealous' line, no I'm not. My LO still wakes once in the night to feed but she goes to bed at 7.30pm so I expect her to and feel very lucky it's just once until 7.00am.

  • I know people with grown children always say these are the best years, but having a toddler and a baby is EXHAUSTING. I never realized how much harder two kids would be than just one. I feel bad saying this, and I'm trying to enjoy the moments, but sometimes... Dammit the moments are more frustrating than enjoyable!!

I constantly feel like I have to sacrifice one child's happiness for the other. LO never gets good naps because they are always interrupted by having to take my toddler places. I have to try and quiet down my toddler when the baby is sleeping so that he can get in a nap.

When I see people out and about, and people are oohing and aahing over the baby, I totally want to be like... You can take him for awhile if you want. :)

Meh, I still don't get your point. As stated previously, some babies REFUSE to be out down at 7:30pm (my baby is one of those). He naps a lot during the day and goes down much later. So if he goes to bed at midnight and sleeps until 7am you better be damn sure I'm going to brag about that. Every baby is different. I don't get why that is *eye roll* worthy at all. Who cares how long baby sleeps or what time they go down? You don't know that baby's history. Maybe sleeping a full 4-5 hour stretch is STTN for a momma who is only used to 2 hour stretches.

Guess that was your way of throwing in how well your baby sleeps. You know going down at 7:30 and all. Now I'm rolling my eyes...

I second @ljutcmommy .. If LO sleeps longer than his daily feeding interval, I consider that a long stretch... I think mommies can make whatever stretch of time they want mean STTN since let's face it - no one really cares but them ;-)

    @nikkid522 Precisely my point ;)

Holy shit balls... the cat in the fridge makes me sad. It makes me want to go to oregon and hug my sisters big ol cat.

I love him, hes a mancoon(sp?) And he is the biggest cuddliest sweety. I want a mancoon because of him, and i want my sister to train it cause she can make the shiest cat the most cuddly loveable cat ever.

  • I posted a UO in this thread and only realized it now. I. Am. Dumb.

FFFC - I coach special Olympics and without thinking used the R word to describe something. I said "that was so r......." Right to one of my athletes. I felt like an idiot. He didn't notice. Phew.

  • I should add / I was referring to something I had done when I used the R word. Not something he had done.

I need a zap collar to get that word out of my vocab.
  • I left and took my kids to the city zoo with their grandpa. When I got home, they were freakin' exhausted so I probably have like 2 hours to myself. So I get on TB to see if anything got exciting, and I see the FFC has grown by like 4 pages. Soooo exciting. I open it and it is burning snakes and lizards and cats in freezers.

    Ummmm...

Beyond that... samesies @janneann1127 about feeling like you are always short changing one for the other . It is awful, huh? My cousin who is veteran 2 u 2 keeps saying it gets awesome... I sure hope so.

@Soleil3 - I love your kitty fridge gifs.

(Just doing my part to get us to 10 pages.)

You and me both evidently. Seriously, I think I'm the queen of sticking my foot in my mouth.

  • My FFFC. I just ate a king sized twix...no regrets.

@Zever000 what's up on that cute no-legs? You like him but not my cutie 8-legs? ;)

@TurtleMomma pet store employees are the worst!!! I worked at a pet supply store for many years and spent more of my time telling people what things they shouldn't buy then what they should! My favourite customer question: "but why would they make it/sell it if it is so bad for x animal?" My favourite customer comment: "well I am just going to keep doing it this way because it hasn't killed x animal yet".

  • I'm totes jealous of any woman that loses all of their baby weight within the first 2 months and they appear to never have given birth.

True story. I know someone like this. She had her baby in September and the girl looks amazing. While I'm sitting here working my ASS off. Ugh, damn genetics.

Confession, I lost all mine by 4 weeks and look how I did pre pregnancy a little less but wish I maintained more because I feel it's so awkward when people comment, I don't know how to respond or what they want me to say. I usually give them the "breastfeeding" answer or smile awkwardly...

I know probably no sympathy from anyone but I would rather be in the situation of someone asking when I was due after I already had LO and is at least have a legitimate response and know its absolutely normal not to lose all the baby weight fast

That sounds SOOO GOOD! Man I'm craving some dairy since I've been off it for LO. Tried slowly introducing it back and he was not a happy camper

  • @Coconuthead I like rose hairs. Calm, slow, don't do much. I was bit by a Mexican red knee once and now I'm all paranoid. But I don't hate on every spider.

Besides, my snake is a pansy. He curls in a ball when he's scared (hence ball python). He doesn't get in a threat stand, spit venom and shoot sharp itchy hairs out of his butt. ;)

Your comment really rubs me the wrong way. You are definitely just looking for attention IMHO.

I sent DH out for pork fried rice, chicken with garlic sauce, and Woodchuck. I'm ridiculously excited.

    NO sympathy.

You'd rather stay fat longer just bc you think it's normal? That's whack. I'll take the quick weight loss anytime.

In fact I'd hack off a small to medium sized appendage in exchange for my pre-preg body.

Own it, yo. Be happy the weight is gone. :)

Yea well... Guess just anytime someone comments on weight it's awkward but I guess it's better to be on this side of it... I'm sure I should soak it up now cause there is no way I could get this lucky with number 2

  • @Zever000 I love me some G rosea too!! I have a big gorgeous girl that is my tarantula ambassador. She will let anyone handle her. Believe it or not I have been keeping for 6 years and no bites yet! But the those urticating "hairs" (setae) though...

Mother of God, THIS! I mean, it is this very scenario that keeps the exotic pet veterinary business alive.

One of my biggest peeves was people trying to justify calcium sand (calci-sand) saying that it had calcium in it so it was good for them and digested easier. Uhm, no. All it did was light up real pretty on an x-ray when the animal stopped eating because they had a sand impaction.

My absolute favorite, though, was a family that bought a 2 toed sloth and brought it in to us because it wasn't eating. When I walked into the room they had a childrens encyclopedia book in their hands called "Sloths" and were telling me about how much research they did before they got her. Riiiiiiiight.

Um, no actually. On the flip side my LO doesn't nap more than 3 half hour stints all day, 99% of the time so I haven't got too much to brag about on the sleep front.
