    Where are you @codineer86? We're in Upper Arlington. Born and raised! That's why I'm having such a hard time about moving... I love UA.
  • @Erbear1010 I'm about 30 mins outside of bmore too! *go tigers ;) *

  • Born/raised in Long Island, NY.  I currently work in Manhattan and live in Hoboken, NJ (right outside NYC).
  • I

    From the Bay Area (East Bay :x) and I will kind of always think of that as "home." Now I'm in a small town in the Sierra Nevada foothills, about 30 miles east of Sacramento. It's OK I guess. Very cheap, fresh air, tons of trees, beautiful, and it doesn't have any cookie-cutter developments: almost all the houses are custom built so pretty much every neighborhood is nice. (Although honestly I wouldn't mind living in a cookie-cutter development now...I mean, they have SIDEWALKS and PARKS!) The downside is I need to drive to another city if I want to do anything more involved than grocery shopping.

    I used to live in downtown Sacramento and I think that's like the perfect blend of what I want: city living, walkability, stuff to do, but reliable public transit, cheap housing, and no freaking school lotteries (I'm looking at you, San Francisco!). Unfortunately my husband wasn't into the idea of city living. When it's time to sell our house I'm really going to push to get back downtown or at least into one of the adjacent neighborhoods...I feel like we've given the far suburbs a chance and I see it as a failed experiment. I just do not feel at home out there.

    I live very near there in Oakdale Ca! So awesome to know I have a fellow bumpie so close

    I am originally from Wisconsin, but live in the upper peninsula of Michigan now.  We've had snow for a couple weeks, but today it was pretty nice and a lot of it is melting!
    I'm so jealous that you lived in the UP! DH and I moved to Cheboygan this summer.  The job my DH moved there for turned out terribly so we didn't stay, but I looooved living in Northern MI. We could see the bridge and the UP from the beach... So nice! We live in Southern MI now. I HATE the city we live in, but DH is a pilot so we're sort of limited. We've had a little snow so far too.
  • My home will always be in a small town on the west coast of Newfoundland. But I now lived most of my life just outside Vancouver. Vancouver is nice, but it will never be home for me.

  • I live in a small town in Colorado. I've always lived in Colorado. The minus is that the only grocery store in town is really expensive so we have to go to the towns nearby to grocery shop. The plus is that it is quiet town, great for raising kids and I wouldn't live anywhere else.

    As a military brat this has always been one of the toughest questions to answer. We moved around every 3 years till I was 12. Starting in England and ended up in the NW. The longest I have lived in one state is now Oregon. Before that it was Florida. Oh how I miss Florida!

    Where in Oregon are you?! I'm in Portland!
  • I live in Omaha, NE. Not the most exciting place to live, but it's a great size and consistently rated one of the best cities to live/get a job/raise a family/drink. So I can't complain. I've lived here most my life.

    @mrspopsicle

    Hey, fellow Nebraskan. I'm in Lincoln.
    @mrspopsicle & @CamrynnsMommy
    Hi girls! We're in Omaha as well! Well, south of official Omaha. DH and I are from Texas and we spent some time in DC and Central Virginia.

  • Born and raised in Charleston, SC. We go to a lot of concerts, so it's not too bad to go to Atlanta or Charlotte to see a show. Pretty awesome weather, although sometimes the humidity in the summer can be unbearable. Great place to raise children!

    I'm still trying to acclimate to the cold weather, although it was nice not to have a summer where the constant temp is 112.  The only thing I hate about living here is the food!  It is gross!!
  • I grew up in Southern Illinois, but have been living in the Chicagoland area for the last 13 years. Jealous of all of you in warm weather climates!!

    South Florida girl!!! Born & raised in Boca Raton which is extremely rare because almost everyone else here has most likely migrated south from New York!!! Living in Delray Beach now which I LOVE. Smaller Bach type town, voted most fun small town in America & a main avenue that's packed with great shopping & lots of delicious restaurants! If I have it my way I'm never moving!!! It's also still in the 70's here & I wish it would cool down just a little
  • Born just outside of Boston and lived in that area for 11 years. Then we moved to northeast MA. I moves to Ft. Bragg, NC with DH for 4 years while he was stationed there. Then we moved home when he got out to southeast NH.

    Fun! I'm going to Meridian. It's the closest to us since we live in SW right by Tigard and Lake Oswego. It was that or Providence in NE (since those were the two my CNM has privileges at) and Providence would be like a 20 min drive. So I said no thank you!

    Born and raised in MA about 45 mins south of Boston. We currently live in Sioux Falls, SD. We have been here for a year and a half now and I do like the city. It is big enough to have all the conveniences but feels more like a large town then a big city. But winters suck, I hate being cold, and I work outside a lot so I do not really enjoy the days that get well into the negatives. I miss MA, both our families and a lot of friends are out there and it is hard to be away from them. Although I am not sure I want to live in MA, I do want to live closer. I really love New England, and I miss the beaches. We would also consider FL as well but I am not sure how I would handle summers out there. I spent some time living in southern OR too, I loved the temperatures there just not all the rain.
    @Arinias - Sounds like you should live in southern Maine!  (anywhere from the Portland area south, or maybe even up to 30 minutes north of Portland) It's kindof a more laid back version of the very extended Boston 'burbs, not too bad of a drive to/from anywhere in eastern MA, and the beaches are still sandy.  Plus from there it's not too far to the lakes region and even over to the mountains.
