I love winter! I even got married in winter because of all the snow.
I could maybe give winter a fair shake if it didn't last 5-6 months here. It's like an annoying guest that comes too early to the party and stays way too long.

Everyone I know who doesn't have kids are always so excited to get an extra hour of sleep... But kids, have no concept of or understanding of this time change...
which means that when they USED to wake up at 6:45 am, NOW they are up at 5:45 am... And my kids, like many other little kids, when they get up they are UP.. The moment their heads come off the pillow they are ready to do something fun and exciting.
I posted on Parenting, but I don't like selfies. Don't get me wrong one or two once in a while is okay, but I have several FB friends who post one, sometimes two a day. Then I get on Instagram and see the exact same ones!!! And then add the #selfiemonday and I just can't!
I find them super creepy. My OB's office has a bunch of them in the waiting room and they freak me out. Yes, pregnancy is beautiful and all that jazz, but I do not need to look at your boobs and naughty bits mostly covered by a flowing sheet with your belly hanging out. Not a fan.
Totally agree. If you want to do that so that you can look it at it and remember then go ahead, but don't post that stuff on FB or display it on your walls.

After reading a shit-show thread D14 was nice enough to share ( can't link on mobile- but it's in the most recent roundup), about the "natural" vs. "med-free" terminology: I guess my UO is that I think natural means completely intervention and medication free. That does not mean that I think a medicated birth is horrible and "unnatural" in the negative connotation it is being given. I'd go as far to say if you had an unmedicated birth but needed the use of vacuum or forceps you had an "unnatural" birth. Maybe its my way too literal and logical interpretation of the word, instead of emotional. It doesn't mean a damn thing about your parenting or choices.
Its like fighting cancer "naturally" would be somehow superior to using chemo. As long as you're okay and alive in the end it doesn't matter. Chemotherapy is "unnatural" but I'm damn happy we have it.( Not the best metaphor-I know.)
(And I realize there is a huge debate about chemo's efficiency, but its just an example)

I totally agree with the bolded. which is why when I'm asked if going natural I say no! I want pain medication but I DON'T want the epidural. I often get "oh so you ARE going natural" *eye roll*

That's where it gets kind of screwed up in MY head. IV antibiotics is so unrelated to the birth, if you went pain-med and intervention free I'd still consider that a natural birth. Like I said before I'm not passing judgement on anything just saying how I categorize it. Which really doesn't matter to anyone but me anyway!

#selfiemonday is a big no in my book too. However, I would say that most of my selfies are the best photos of me. You are your own best subject!

I'm just waiting for the sex announcement threads turn into aw your mat photos threads.
I like them if they aren't naked. Like family pics basically.
I have no issue with the stretch marks appearing on my body. Every time someone posts something about how they can avoid them, I just don't understand. To me, they feel like medals of honor that this little baby is growing big and strong. This doesn't mean I'm not having other body issues, but stretch marks are certainly not part of them.

I get this "eye roll" from people when I talk about my two year old birth. I did not get the epidural but due to the inability to not being able to stop pushing so they could get a good hold of her they numbed me down there. They are like yeah "girl that was natural". Natural is my intention but there is no telling what may happen.
I hate the Bahamas, not a destination I'd pick again.
This plays into my UO - I hate beach vacations in general. I don't want to go to Mexico or the Bahamas. I think just laying on a beach for a week is super boring and I'm already brown, so it's not like I'm working on my tan. I'd much rather vacation somewhere with historical sites and interesting places to visit and learn about.
I hate when people call Alzheimers "old timers" ugh really?!?! It's an actual diagnosis named after a man, not something you get just because you're old.
I hate when people post a billion pictures a day of their baby on fbook. "Emma, just waking up", "Emma, eating" "Emma, smiling" "Emma, my princess soul royal highness being". Jesus, I freaking get it, you love your brand new baby but I promise none of her expressions are any different than the last one.
I like to use the word C-U-N-T. I feel it reallllly gets my point of hatred across when I need to. :-\"
@mrscrcalli - I totally use the word cunt. I don't get why people hate it so much. Sounds better than pussy in my book... hahah. Sorry, guys! Earmuffs!

I might care now If I had never had them before but I started getting stretch marks when I was 11 and going through puberty. I got them on my legs from growth spurts. I went from flat chested to a D cup in 2 years. I've been covered in them most of my life. I was doomed from the beginning
Same here! I've had stretch marks on my stomach and the sides of my boobs since I was a pre-teen. They don't bother me like they used to and so far I don't have any new ones
This is why I love my friends who have created private groups to post their baby pictures. I'm so happy some people get the hint that no one (other than really close friends and family) gives a hoot about their kid especially after the 10th post in a day.
Word!! Yes!! I have a private group that talks about my pregnancy for family/friends (mainl the ones who are out of state) who care and want to hear about it so its not forced upon the ones who don't.

This. If I'm going to Mexico, I want to get holed up in a village with somebody's grandma yelling at me in a language I don't understand while she tries to teach me to grind masa.
People think I'm joking when I say that, but no. I want culture, not some resort with all the comforts of home.
You can come with me to visit my in-laws! You described it perfectly!
Mom to 10 year old DS and 7 year old DD. Twin girls coming soon!
I hate the Bahamas, not a destination I'd pick again.
Really? What didn't you like about it? I've never been but really want to go! I cruised the Caribbean and hated Jamaica (Montego Bay in particular). It's a ghetto and I don't really understand why it's a vacation destination. It's way oversold.
I found it pretty boring. Beaches are not my thing, the area was just meh, tourist traps were everywhere. I liked the forts and and museums that was cool. Andplusalso I was really put off by the Jesus speech, Adam and eve not Adam and Steve crap we ran into.
Eta this was Free Port and Nassau.
