Or, you could read the thread before posting. I said that there are a number of great subreddits with better advice than I've ever seen given here. This is the World Wide Web, there are literally hundreds of forums. (this one just happens to be heavily advertised and easy to get to;)) And AGAIN, in my opinion, if you're asking actual medical advice on a forum and taking the answers you receive as dogma, you're stupid and should be eliminated by natural selection, or aspirin.
I first came to this site with an open mind and was polite to all of you. I was, at first, personally offended by the attitude. Now that I've decided it doesn't do any good, I can safely say I don't GAS about the "snark" and am actually having a grand old time with it.
Oh and please, please don't assume that the rude remarks made on here "absorb" into my life. I'm only on here arguing with you women because I'm tired from a long week and don't feel like getting off the couch today. Again, it's entertaining and you all just keep humoring me, so I haven't yet had a need to turn on the TV.
Finally, I have plenty of real-life friends. Don't need to make new ones on the internet, I've always found that to be kind of totally sad. It's great that you all have, but I'm not, and never was, interested. So I don't really feel like I'm missing out.
Actually that's not was I was referring to. I'm referring to the "lurking" I did after being slightly irked by the WAY you came across, and found that I got it easy. I'm referring to the attitude and bashing I've SEEN, with nearly no provocation. Not to any that I've personally experienced. I guess you could call that "rooting for/sticking up for the underdog", huh?
I've asked for this tired conversation to be over twice now, you guys just keep on keepin on with it. And @redheadbaker, I don't consider it because I find it silly. I have a larger network of friends than I can keep up with IRL, and even if I didn't I just don't find internet friendships appealing, useful, or worthwhile. I've always found it "sad" when others rely so heavily on internet friendships/dating/etc. Just personal opinion. I don't feel that it's closed-minded, I just don't like it. I use forums for advice from third parties who are neutral to my situation. That's it. Well, except this forum. Lol.
I think this should be a judgement free zone, if people dont like me or my grammatical errors they can shove it but if they do then great i would love advice, we shouldn't judge because someone makes more or they have been pregnant before or even first timers like me, we have questions we are scared well at least i am and if someone starts to hurt me while i am looking for answers i just won't look here i get enough drama at home to get on here and hear worse drama.... Bring the peace or not your own choice
Oi vey... I'll be honest... Right now my mental image of this whole thing is a bunch of middle schoolers crowded around each other calling each other big meany heads! Lol all y'all who are preaching peace need to realize that IRL people are snarky, they do come with opinions, and they will express them! Get over it. If you can't deal with it get thicker skin, because the real world gives harder knocks than a bunch of strangers on the interwebz.

Did you forget about periods? What did punctuation ever do to you?

Well, if you want answers to your questions on a text-based forum (like this one), it would help if we could easily understand them (hence the need for reasonably correct grammar and spelling). If it doesn't make sense the first time I read it, I'm going to close the thread and move on without attempting to answer.
Exactly. I love the argument that it's a forum, who cares. Well, if you can't be bothered to put in the effort to make it readable, why should I put in the effort to try and decode it and then respond to it?

What did punctuation do to you in ANY of your posts? Seriously, periods. Commas. Sentences.
@Tiffsspot93, Oh FFS! Yes, I sometimes make more mistakes when I am using the phone but I don't blatantly disregard proper spelling and punctuation. Don't use your phone as an excuse for your previous post.
Phones do not put commas and periods? Do any of you all have phones? I mean seriously do you all write what you want to ask in Microsoft word before coming in here?

Are you fucking serious? YOU put the commas and periods not the fucking phone. JCF.

OMG. Every time I think this thread can't get any stupider, someone comes in and just digs a little bit deeper.
Disclaimer: This post not written in Word. I just paid attention in 5th grade grammar.
Lmao at all of this!!! I had no idea pregnancy forums would be this entertaining! For what it's worth, I have seen people who need to learn a little about tact when answering questions, but more than that I see overly sensitive people who get defensive over NOTHING and claim people are being mean when they're not. And then these people just make an honest person out of them.
@livelaughlove88: I don't disagree that some posters (probably myself included) don't always bend over backwards to be tactful in their response. But at the same time, I lose my patience when I see (for the fifth time in a week) questions like, "My doctor told me it was perfectly safe to eat X, what do you guys think?" or "I'm having severe bleeding and cramping, and have a history of ten prior miscarriages -- do you think I should call my doctor?" I mean... c'mon.
These boards serve a purpose. Dispensing medical advice or telling a crazy person they aren't crazy is not one of them.
@LunaC I totally agree. I like to think there's no such thing as a stupid question, but people seem determined to prove me wrong. Medical advice is for doctors. These boards should be used to make connections and share experiences and get non medical advice.
We're all adults here (even if some people don't always act like it) so I'm aware that some people are gonna be jerks. The people that say we should just deal with it can deal with the fact some of us don't want to. As the original post states the point of this site is to support and inform pregnant women or those with kids, so people that can't stick to that really should just shut up. They are of no use to anyone.
All of the bully's on here that are supporting every jerk with an opinion are the reason our schools are rampant with bully's. Children learn their behavior from adults and if this is how people want to act and want to defend ridiculous behavior on a site that is meant to be supportive then I want no part of it. The rest of the site is great, but I have yet to come to one of these community boards and not find the posts flooded with bully's. Its the only part of this site that isn't helpful. Good luck to those of you who do care and are willing to come back here. Too many jerks for me to want to stick around.

Bye.
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.

Are you for fucking real? You're going to compare snarky comments and blunt, honest, yet helpful, advice given from one adult to another bullying?? You're insane. I don't know anyone here personally, but my guess is, if they are on a website about pregnancy, motherhood, and parenting, they aren't teaching their children to act that way. Their concern is raising their children to the best of their ability, which I highly doubt involves bullying. This may not be true for everyone, but I'm going to go ahead and make that assumption. Regardless, children bullying other children is something completely different than what goes on here, and you are completely out of touch with reality if that's what you think. Please, don't let the figurative door hit you in the ass on the way out.

I can't even believe you would compare this to school bullies. Those kids not only call other kids horrible hurtful names but they use physical force to hurt them. They make their lives a living hell to bare. No one on here is even remotely close to doing that. We are DEFENDING ourselves to someone who has a shit to opinion about us. That is all

Disagreement is not bullying.
Furthermore, it's "bullies." Apostrophes denote a possessive, not a plural.

Yup. This is my last response. Hopefully everyone will follow suit and it will go crawl back in its hole.

Childish about grammar? Bwahahahaha!!! Childish about grammar would be to not use any because you are too childish to know how.
