OP, don't bother. I tried. This is a forum made up mostly of decent people, but there are a few lifers who are on here like, every single day. They are mean and terrible, yes, but give them a break. They think that using old tired gifs, being snobby, clique-y, and sarcastic online makes them super awesome. Just let them, it's funny and should make you feel better about yourself. You may get some really good advice from the normal people on here, but personally this week I've started using this forum strictly for entertainment (like now, bored and up late) and to answer questions to raise the "normalcy" and "decency" rates. I wouldn't be actually ASKING questions on here if you don't want some über-wench to interject her totally unnecessary opinion. They think that their being "harsh" makes this some kind of elite club you have to go through hazing for, lol. Just look at the college analogy on the previous page. It's kind of hilarious. You can get the same answers anywhere with a good deal more respect, they don't know more than anyone else does. Don't let it get you down, just hit "ignore" for anyone who is rude to you if you choose to stay. And have a forum you actually use for, you know, answers.

Well, the way I see it: I (and many others) expressed our totally reasonable discontent with the way the regulars treat posters numerous times in response to attacks, they were incredibly rude to us in return, so I feel no need to spare their feelings any longer. If they want to use me and other posters as an emotional punching bag, they should serve some useful purpose in return.



Its so funny to me how people come to their rescue when I say anything about the regulars. I was brought up to be nice until someone proves unworthy of it, and then to stand up for yourself and be honest. I have perfect manners, to those who deserve the effort. So I'm only being honest, they're hilarious to me. I don't really care what they think about it, in fact, I hope they continue to be exactly the same so that I always have something funny to read.



I thought this was NOT the place for rainbow puke and unicorn dust, for ANYONE? That it was a place of calling it how you see it and being honest no matter how it makes others feel... Or did I read your lame gifs wrong?

BTW, I'm not coming to anyone's "rescue."  I actually agree that certain posters do take things too far sometimes. i just read your comment and couldn't help but point out the hypocrisy of someone who pretty clearly has an elitist attitude telling other women about their "pathetic elitist attitudes."

Agreed!  I was pretty much a blank notebook when I first came to TB.  I lurked in TTGP and learned more than I knew it was possible to learn about TTC, and when I graduated from there I moved to 1st tri and the June 14 BMB and I still learn new things everyday.

There is awesome information here, and a lot of these women (snarky or not) know what they are talking about and have a no-nonsense approach.  I'd rather hear it like it is than have things sugarcoated... But maybe that's why I like TB so much.  Women get honest advice, and sometimes they don't like what they hear.  That doesn't make this a "bash forum." 

JKBMA2014 - I'm guilty of this too, as I'm sure many others are.  The difference is (I'm making an assumption here..) that I doubt you or other women use the existence of drama in those threads as an excuse to take out your hormonal frustrations on internet women who don't matter.  Snark is one thing, straight up being a condescending witch is another.

I was over at baby center and some girl was asking if it was ok to take aspirin during pregnancy since Tylenol wasn't working. Every single person on there gave her bad information and arguably dangerous information. I'll stick with this for now

Well, asking for medical advice on an Internet forum is kind of totally stupid anyway, that's what doctors are for. Internet forums are, as far as I'm aware, for "advice" on things non-medical or for story-sharing, comparing experiences, etc. That's why you can get pretty much the exact same info no matter where you are. As a matter of fact, there are tons of really great subreddits for this kind of info.

Interesting, I feel the same way about that article as the rest of you probably do. But I feel like I'm sticking up for people who just want an outlet to ask questions and not be abused, while you feel like you're ganging up on a lone bully. Weird how perspective is all that really matters, huh?

I won't hesitate to stand up for someone when it's deserved, whether it's here or IRL. But most of the people who get slammed on here totally deserve it. Pray tell, what are these other, more reputable sites? Baby Gaga, where people with negative tests are told to fake a threatened miscarrage so they can get an ultrasound in the ER? Or Babycenter, where a girl talked about having an orgasm during her transvaginal ultrasound? :-&

I've said it before and I'll say it again: for the most part, the people on this board give honest, no nonsense advice that you probably won't get IRL. If you can't appreciate that, you should leave, preferably without throwing a fit.
