Hi moms! I'm 33 weeks pregnant with my first and I have been totally set on using the Fisher Price rock n play sleeper beside our bed instead of a bassinet. We got one as a shower gift and I have had great feedback from friends with babies. We took a newborn care and safety class, as this is our first, and the instructor who is an RN said she would not recommend it bc of the slight incline as it will keep our LOs legs scrunched up as opposed to her being able to stretch out. Now I'm second guessing the sleep situation. Any insight is greatly appreciated!
Re: Bassinet vs Rock N Play Sleeper
My daughter slept in the RNP til she was 3 1/2 months! It was the only thing she would sleep in! It made me feel comfortable as well that I could see her from my bed without having to look up and over into a bassinet. She slept sooo good in the RNP. She also spit up a lot in the beginning and I felt better that she was on an incline. I also was nervous about her sleeping that way with her legs kinda scrunched up and also didn't want her getting use to sleeping on the incline so by 31/2 months I transitioned her into a extra large bassinet. She is now 6 1/2 months and still in the bassinet!!! We are having a hard time getting her into the crib. So I would recommend RNP just for a few months then to the crib. Good Luck!!!!
