Tattoos!

So I know I'm so not original with this GTKY but I'm so obsessed with people and their tattoos. I'm an artist and I have a huge appreciation for them. I have a secret girl crush on @mommyday2be and her picture in her siggy that you can see her tattoo! It looks so similar to what I want

Btw I don't have any...I was seriously ready to go for it and then I found out I was pregnant this go around, but I finally know exactly what I want.

I have "Je Suis Prest" on the back of my neck... It's the motto of my family's scottish clan.

I really want to get a tree of life tattooed on my back and in work my, DH's and LO's birthdates somehow.

I have a double helix (as in DNA) near my hipbone. I got it when I was in college because I loved genetics and now I work with DNA and chromosomes everyday!

I have a maple leaf ( yes I'm Canadian) on the right lower back.

I want to get another tattoo either one of a bear cub straddling the maple leaf (my childhood nickname is bear) and also one with 2 stars (cause I love Peter Pan and the quote 2nd star to the right and straight on 'till morning).

I have a fairy, it's a tramp stamp. I was a follower. I found this postcard of a fairy at Hot Topic and got the tattoo when I turned 18. I went to basic and two other chicks had similar Amy Brown fairy tattoos.

I totally regret it, I won't get another tattoo unless it's something that's unique, only I will have it.

I have 3. A swallow bird with ribbon and a nautical star on my left shoulder, a penguin on my ankle (not your usual penguin though), and scissors inside my left arm that I got in cosmetology school.

Yah I totally regret mine as well.... Got it when I was 18. WTH was I thinking? It's a tramp stamp Chinese symbol that means "faith" or it could mean slut for all I know... One of these days I'll get it removed.

I have three.

1) Lower back... A pink lily with a blue butterfly on either side, with some swirls extending out and arching up. (Don't have a good picture available.)

2) Right shoulder blade... A memorial tattoo for the son that my husband and I lost when I was 19 weeks pregnant. (After he passed, we learned from the pathology report that he had DS.)

3) Left foot...Scripture engraved on my Papaw's headstone--words to live by.

I have 3. The first is a Chinese symbol that means virtue (to represent my Grandmother's favorite bible verse). The second is a four leaf clover and the third is in memory of my dad, the #44, his basketball number.

I don't have a pic handy, but I have a cluster of 3 green shamrocks on my ankle. My sisters and I all have the same tattoo in the same spot.

This is a terrible picture, but it's hard to get a good shot of your ribs/side boob!

Everyone thinks it's three birds to represent my little family and that I'll be adding another after this one comes along, but really it's Three Little Birds a la Bob Marley.

I really hope it doesn't post upside down like the preview is showing me.

I have a wing on my left ankle ( got after I completed my first and only marathon) and I have a Celtic horse on my back right in the middle of my back. Not between the shoulder blades and not a tramp stamp, floating in between!

I just have one right now - a clover because my family's Irish. Got it on my 21st birthday (which is also St. Patricks Day). I have a couple more I'm wanting, but I guess they are on hold right now.

This is from my bridal pics so that is why there is a wedding dress floating above my foot.

I have "alska" on my wrist (means "to love" in Swedish) with a flash anchor underneath, the sailor jerry anchor on my collar bone, a traditional heart lock with some flowers on my upper back, a traditional swallow with "Beauty for ashes" on a banner, stars on my hips and a ships wheel on the inside of my ankle and small arrows on the outside of my forearm.
I have a slight obsession with anything nautical and I'm in love with traditional tattoos. I have a great uncle who, we are pretty positive, was tattooed by Sailor Jerry.

I was just finalizing a tattoo design when I got my BFP. It'll have to wait.

It was going to be placed on the back of my neck just below my hair line so that it could be concealed for work purposes.

"res ipsa loquitur " (Latin for "the thing itself speaks") - I work in Criminal Justice/Research so it's perfect and there are many things that speak in my opinion.

Ok pic one is the majority of my half sleeve, my Dios de la muertos sugar skull. (And I took French not Spanish so that could be wrong!) #2 is my fav, my Edgar Allen Poe portrait and that pic is pretty old so excuse the cheesy photoshop effects, and 3 is my current coverup-in-progress and Phoenix. I have about 13 tattoos total.

I wish mine were more artsy and unusual, but they are meaningful to me and I have no regrets! I have a clover on my ankle, kind of my thing since my birthday is March 17! I didn't realize they were so popular! I also have an anchor on my hip to commemorate 6 months spent working on a small ship in Alaska when I was 22.

I have a solid black wrist band on my left wrist, On the inside of my wrist in the band are my dad's initials. He died when I was 21 from skin cancer. I was going to get my next one with tax money at the beginning of the year next year, but I"ll have to hold off for a while being pg. My next one though is going to be an arm piece. It'll be a bird on a tree branch done in a folk art style in memory of Astrid.

So do I! Except I still maintain that the term "tramp stamp" was not the ubiquitous thing it is now when I got mine way back in 2001. Mine was straight off the wall and it's totally crooked. I don't regret it, though. I just forget it's there. When I glance at it, it just reminds me of my 17/18 year old self and makes me smile.

I have a Sailor Jerry swallow tattoo done in the colors of my parrots (I have 4) and the $ sign with the half circle under it is the brand I have on my horse. I was (am) an avid semi endurance trail rider and my horse (as well as my mom & sister's horses) all have the rocking dollar brand on them (That way, if they ever get away from us, they can be identified and returned)...my mom and sister both have the rocking dollar tattoo also. It was something we did together to commemorate the thousands of hours and hundreds of miles we have spent together on horseback in some of the country's most beautiful places. I can't wait until Tallen is old enough to take with us.

I only have one. It's my brother's signature on my right shoulder/back. And underneath says "little brother" and the dates.
He passed away 2 years ago. He and I were very close so I wanted something that was truly him. What could be more him than his signature?

I have a rose on one hip, red fish a la Dr Suess on the other, a small bird on one side of my lower back, a large peacock on the other side and DD's footprint on my shoulder. I will do something for this baby, just not sure what yet.
