On the same not as with the girl stuff, I also hate boy stuff that says anything along the lines of "lil' man", "lil' dude", "lil' squirt", really "lil' anything". I also hate that boys stuff tends to have flippin safari animals all over everything! Lions, giraffes, elephants, tigers, monkeys. All. Over. The. Place.
I resent the fact that all the little superhero type clothing are all geared towards boys. Like girls can't want a shirt with Supergirl or Wonder Woman logo on them. But they are all over the freaking place for boys while all girl things have to be all cutesy.
Even a minor event in
the life of a child is an event of that child's world and thus a world
event.
I hate that so many toys are either "boy" toys or "girl" toys. We were looking at Toyland last weekend and DH didn't want to get Riley things all pinkish/princessy but I didn't want to get her anything too rugged/boyish. It was hard to find something in the middle and that drives me nuts!
This is something we've struggled with too, we usually end up getting the basic colored things. Blue, red, yellow and green, they can go for anyone.

Sadie wears them all!!! I don't specifically pick them but most of her baby stuff is from Carter's since one just opened in our area right before she was born. And I do like it. Have you seen a 6'2" bearded man wearing camo and drinking pretend tea from an Abby Cadabra cup? She is her daddy's princess 100%.
I guess my UO is I don't get when people dislike that stuff... They're babies. They look like babies. They will stop wanting Mickey or Cinderella soon enough and then we'll be fighting about too short shorts and low cut tops. I'm perfectly happy dressing her like a baby while I can.
I think you can totally achieve dressing them like babies without branding or plastering words all over their clothing. A lot of Eleanor's clothes come from Carter's and all is without wording. Clothing that assigns a role such as "princess" or "diva" make me uncomfortable for several reasons, but that could just be me. In that same vein, I would never call her a princess either.I feel the same about boy clothes. Every family is different and none are incorrect in their choices for their children.
Bert and Ernie are two peas In a pod, he couldn't be more enamored with her and all while she isn't wearing a shirt that says "daddy's girl."
I guess my UO is that I don't refuse gifted or hand me down clothes regardless of what they have on them. As long as it's not fug, she wears it. Sure, I could exchange/return but ain't nobody got time for that. I don't think at this point it really matters considering they can't read.
I will say that I don't personally buying clothing for Dagny with any wording on it...just NMS. The only stuff she has with words are her IU shirt and Colts jersey. But if someone gives her something I won't turn it down! Less for me to buy!
