Yuck. Give me a hot summer day any time please. I am dreading winter...
Now if I had snow, I would HATE winter, Snow sucks monkey balls! I can handle it for about a day then im over it. It just gets cold here but usually by afternoon you can slip into a jacket. So maybe I should rephrase "i love Southern winters "
I don't like going to parties where I don't know anyone. I hate the awkward small talk and acting like I am having a great time. A friend of my IL's invited us to their party this weekend and I don't know anyone who is going since they are all 60+. Fortunately our babysitter is unavailable so I get to stay home with LO and my H can go.
Im not a fan of dressing up for Halloween, it's great for the kids but for adults not so much. Every time i've had a costume event or party by the end of the night everyone looks like drunk worn down clowns, witches..etc. Make up all rubbing off in the wrong spots, costume pieces being left everywhere, wigs on sideways. It's kind of funny actually.
@hijoi I'm not a huge Halloween fan either, at least the way most people get into it/decorate for it. I HATE scary movies... I don't think murder is healthy entertainment. So under that same hat, I also hate any and all scary/bloody whatever Halloween stuff. If it was ALL kids in princess and ninja turtle costumes, candy and jack o lanterns, I'd love the holiday. Those are the only parts we get into in this house. It's a fun kids' dress-up holiday, and nothing else.
I don't like Halloween. I'm fine with kids dressing up and trick or treating, but I think the rest of the pomp and circumstance (i.e. haunted houses, scary movies, etc) is silly. It's also an excuse for girls to dress slutty and not feel bad about it.

I don't even like Southern winters; I love Southern summers. Bring back the flip flops and pool; screw this 42 degrees mess.

Every one of my Halloween costumes as an adult has been "slutty" and I loved it. I will miss it this year.
*Though I'd like to clarify here that I don't condone that description of slutty. There's nothing about someone's dress that says anything about what they do sexually, nor do I have any issues with promiscuity while single.
@karmb we are backwards in our household. H is into the romantic sappy girly movies and sometimes the action ones and I LOVE horror movies. He refuses to watch them so I rent them alone when he's gone. If you asked him his favorite movies you would think he was secretly a girl.
I hate Halloween even for the kids. I spent $50 on outfits for the kids for them to not even wear for 2 hours. Not to mention half of the outfits they sell are for warmer weather. It can sometimes snow when we trick or treat, so then you have to add additional clothes and it ruins the whole look of the outfit. HATE THIS HOLIDAY, if I can even call it a Holiday!! And don't get me started on how college or older girls use it as a way to dress in the least amount of clothes!!
I also hate the scarves for women. I see several women trying to dress up a sweatshirt with a scarf.
we use our costumes for dress up. Lilah has aleady worn her costume a bunch. plus bought it in a swap group for $7
I'm going to get flamed for sure for this one. I love shopping on Black Friday. It's so much fun for me. It's become more of a tradition for us but I still love it. I don't like however how all the store open earlier every year. I liked it better when they would open at 3 am. And menards opens at 5 and I love that one. Most random stuff there.
I wouldn't mind shopping on Black Friday if huge crowds of crazy people didn't give me hives. I don't see an issue with that at all. It's the new trend of opening at midnight, etc. where more and more people are being forced to miss Thanksgiving that drives me nuts. Why can't stores just open at a normal time? :-/
I dont support early openings. I have to open my store at midnight so I need to leave my familys house early to try to get a little sleep. I cant legally punch in until midnight. last black friday we had 4 people between 12-4.
I loathe Musicals! All of them...i couldn't even get into Glee because of the singing. I mean in real lyfe nobody bursts out in song. I just can't!
@reinedecajun I'm a firm believer that the world would be a better place if people did burst out randomly into musical numbers. I was also a theatre major so it comes with the territory. LOL
Even a minor event in

event.
I hate the Girl Scouts; they hound you until you buy something and you end up spending a fortune and get nothing for it. We have a GS troop at my school and they are constantly hitting us up to buy shit; I always feel bad and end up buying something. My most recent purchase was $11 chocolate covered pretzels...got them today, there's 22 pretzels in this bag. TWENTY TWO!!!! Down with the girl scouts!
I secretly like scarves but have never been able to figure out how to wear them well or put them on so they look good.
I love fall too, and I'll take winter any day over summer, I just can't do hot weather.
Love musicals and romances, too big of a scaredy-cat to watch scary movies usually. But I like AHS, maybe I'm just more twisted than interested in straight up murder. Love psychological thrillers.
I hate black Friday, my MIL drags us out to it when we are there for Thanksgiving and I can't stand it at all. All those people trampling each other to get a few dollars off is just silly.

Well crap, I LOVE scarves, I would own 100 if I could afford it It's one of the reasons I love fall. I dont however like them in the summer...that just seems weird.
I LOVE winter. Snow, cold, no bugs, hiding under big sweats, every aspect of it. I told my husband this is as far south as I will move. If I was able to pick up and move back to Pgh I would in a heart beat. Screw the beach being a hop skip and jump away.
My UO I hate character clothing for kids. I am now losing the battle with G but, I think a lot of it is tacky.

I don't mind scantily clad ladies on Halloween if the costume calls for that, and it is creative and looks good. What I can't stand is explicit, nonsensical costumes:
Really? This doesn't even make sense. Mrs. Vorhees costume? Dumb. Dumb dumb dumb.
This is kind of easy for me to say since I don't have girl, but I really hate all the "diva" and "princess" stuff. And also butterflies. Anything with crowns, butterflies, or that dark pink fuschia-ish color is just totally NMS and I despise it.

@lewispm I'm not a pink fan really, but so often there's only pink in something really cute and the dark pink is the lesser of the two evils. (The bigger evil being a light pink, it washes her out)

See, the light pink I love! For some reason that dark pink is just gross to me. I mean, Charlie would look cute in anything of course, but I just refuse to buy it!

LOL I'll agree with that, and it's all what we want for them right now. She's probably going to grow up and want pink for everything with my luck. ;-)

My family never did traditional Thanksgivings and everyone always thought it was weird. I loved it. Now that we host for the blended families, it's more traditional, but I still enjoy it. I sometimes miss the chili cookoffs or enchiladas and coconut cream pie though.
We do themed Christmas meals too. Started out with a specific nationality/cultural version of Christmas and has changed over time. We've done French Xmas, German Xmas, Scandinavian Xmas, Southern, etc. This year we're doing Dublin Pub.
Halloween hater over here. I hate dressing up. I also hate little beggers coming to my house looking for candy. Let it be known that I will only buy candy that I like so I enjoy the leftovers.

I dont mind it on toddlers but when I see grown ass women with lounge pants in target with JUICY or DIVA splattered across their ass it kills it for me.

I've always wondered why women want people to think they're juicy. Isn't that just advertising for cannibals? Or pornstars? :-/

Well the Juicy one stands for the brand. ...and I'm not going to lie, when those were in style in like 2002, I totally rocked some Juicy Couture track suits. Don't hate!
@zpanjwani I'm probably just bitter because, even when I was in great shape, I could never fit into most of that stuff.

I feel like Emery is the only baby on this planet that can pull off the Diva/Princess look to me. LOL. Maybe its that she actually has the right attitude that goes along with it
