  • I dislike my rotten SIL in every way. I suppressed my personal feelings for a long time because she never showed her ass publicly. All her passive aggressive swipes were in private. Since telling my DH (per his request) when she pulls her BS and not keeping it to myself, I feel a LOT better. PLUS he believes me and deep down knows how she is. I'm happy that he sides with me and that I don't have to pretend anymore. I am polite at family get togethers and SO relieved that he told me not to bother trying to be her friend.

My SIL and I went through the same thing. She was jealous of the relationship I have with DH's and BIL's mom (we're really close, like I'm one of her own). Now her and BIL (whose a jackass) are going through a rough time (she's pregnant too) and I see a different/ better side to her. She's apologized for how she acted and now she's one of my best friends. Crazy, I know.

Maybe she's threatened by you? I'm not saying she's going to apologize or anything but I've been in your shoes.

Had our precious baby girl, Little Miss E, on August 14, 2013  143 → I.love.you.

My parents home schooled me. My first day of "real" school was university. Because of this I have awful anxiety about making friends and people liking me.
It's so bad that if someone likes a post on Facebook (or "loves it" on TB) I get butterflies I'm so excited. If I get a new job or join a class I get so worried that no one likes me it brings me to tears.

    It's really embarrassing...

Totally empathize with you. I have the same issue with constantly worrying if people like me. Not online really, but definitely IRL. I'm always afraid they're just putting up with me to be nice and I actually get on their nerves. Starting a new class/job makes me incredibly nauseated. It would be so much easier if I didn't care what people thought.

  • I once read that if you shave your baby's head a few weeks after birth, their hair grows in better. I have absolutely no idea if this is actually true, but as a hair stylist, I have obsessed on doing this everyday since delivery.

It's true. I know some of the Indian women I work with do this. It makes the hair grow back lovely and thick! When LO was a week old his scalp was really dry so I was rubbing oil in his hair and I all started falling out, which left him with a rather ugly looking receding hairline but it's all grown back really thick since!

My mom tells me to shave DS's hair for that reason too. They do it for girls too. My friend's h shaved their daughter's head and it grew back in patches. My niece's grew back all spiked up.

I will not let H know anything about shaving hair. He's crazy about LO's hair because he's bald and doesn't want his son to be.

Well by shaving it, it's to help make it come in thicker.

I do hair for a living, so I'm not worried about hurting her. I may or may not do it. *shrugs*. It ain't for everybody. ;)

  • My fffc is that I didn't want to leave Tyler at daycare today. His usual awesome teacher has the day off, so there's a fill-in, and I don't like the vibe I got from her. I told her twice that he will be hungry soon thinking that she'll start to warm his bottle of milk. Nope! I'll be calling to check in on him throughout the day until his afternoon teacher comes in, even though I don't do that for his teacher now. My anxiety is at an all time post-partum high right now.

  • I'm a paranoid person and I HATE being alone. I totally know it's silly but I always feel like something is going to happen and someone is watching me. That probably sounds a bit crazy. Im not like sitting in a room rocking back and forth or anything lol, but I am constantly looking behind me all tht time and always checking the doors are locked. I pretty much think the worst of everything. If MH isn't home for s night I have to have someone come stay with me.. Even if it's my mom.. Of I would go stay there. If no one can then is will literally pull an all nighter. SIGH... It makes me feel pretty crappy

  • I'm a SAHM but I'm sending my 2 year old to "school" for a 1/2 day once a week to get time with DS2. I'm feeling a lot of mom guilt for it. I know he will probably love it but I feel like if I was a "better" SAHM I wouldn't need a break from him.
     DS1 8/2011. DS2 8/2013.

  • We DVR Amwrican Horror Story. DH prefers we watch it late at night with no lights on. I am such a wimp that I try to secretly watch it during the day when I'm off and he's working so it's not so bad when we watch it at night together.

  • I know perms are out. But I've bee dying my hair for 11 years now and I want something different. My hair is straight as. a. board. A little curl would spice things up.

I also have heard this. I heard thogh that it will make curly hair grow back in straight. So if LO has curly hair and you want it straight for whatever reason- I personally think curly hair is adorable on LOs- you shave it and it will grow back straight.

I would never tought DS's hair. It's awesome and everyone loves his natural faux hawk. Although I've tried getting it to lay flat just using water so I could comb it different ways but as soon as it dries, poof right back up. I love it though and so do most others

  • I haven't started my bc yet. Granted we still haven't successfully dtd but once we do I'm still not sure I want to. I'm not sure about wanted to be back on hormonal bc an don't like and of the invasive methods. We're not talking another kid until at least a year though we want more. I'm bf and we planned on using condoms even if I took the mini pill but I know just condoms would get real old real fast. I was attempting temping before my bfp but had never been regular before the pill but wasn't off long enough before the bfp to see if it would be regular after. And now I would have I wait who knows how long for AF to come and see if im regular now since I'm EBF and I don't know of temping is accurate while breastfeeding.

Ugh.. Honestly though right now I'd be content with not dtd until we decide to have another. I feel bad for DH though and like I'm neglecting him and know I won't always feel this way since there were times before I was even cleared I was ready to jump him.

Wow that turned into a dear diary real quick... Short and simply confession, I haven't started taking my birth control and we aren't trying for another anytime soon

  • I joined Weight Watchers three weeks ago, and it sucks up a lot of my time (grocery shopping, cooking, preparing, washing, chopping, measuring, etc.) at the expense of time spent with LO. I try to wait until he's asleep or napping, but it doesn't always work out. I try to tell myself that I'm doing more for him by getting healthy, but I still feel guilty.

I occasionally ignore my mil texts. She bothers me more than my own mom. She can be so needy sometimes. It gets exhausting.

I could have written this word for word. I feel bad but if I answer her she wont stop texting me for hours. She also annoys me and it is just easier to ignore it. I know how mean that is but it is really about preserving my sanity at this point.

I'm still on strike from cleaning the house. SO has literately done everything and it makes me evil giggle inside lol. If only I got an apology I would start helping again. Man this break is sure nice though.

Also, I'm done trying with mil. If you want to see LO you can get your ass over here and see her then. SO is done too especially after he tried to get them to see her and she ignored him. Ugh whatever lady.

    Eta: posted before done.

As a cosmetologist I dont think shaving would accomplish anything, scientifically. The anecdotes in this thread, in general hispanic and asian hair is much thicker than caucasian hair. Infant hair cycles faster than adult hair, so starts to come in thicker around 6ish months anyway, regardless of a shaved head. The only thing I could think is it might help stimulate the scalp and that could assist growth, but a simple massage would do the same.

Im laughing because there's really no way it could do anything. there's no saving the hair in my family, though. We can use all the help we can get,. Lol

I had no idea you did hair, Soleil Soleil.

Lots of children's "baby hair" is curly. Doesn't necessarily mean they have curly hair. Cutting it has nothing to do with it. It would become straight eventually.

I usually always ignore my own mothers texts. And phone calls.
