We decided to have me stop taking the pill because we were hoping to get pregnant in December/January. And suddenly I find myself pregnant. My doc said it was probably the drastic weight loss (between late May and a few weeks ago I lost 58 lbs) that resulted in my pregnancy.
Well over a year. I have PCOS so it made conceiving difficult. I tried Metformin last year but it made me incredibly sick and I had to stop taking it. My OB put me back on it this past July at a lower dosage and on an extended release version and I tolerated it much better this time around. It obviously worked and made my periods regular because here I am!
I had to have surgery first to remove over a dozen fibroids, including two the size of a grapefruit. So I had 3 months hormonal treatment to shrink the fibroids, then surgery, then waited 5 months for my uterus to heal, started TTC, got a BFP on cycle 2, DD was born via c-section due to past surgery, waited 9 months for uterus to heal, decided to wean DD from nursing to jump start my cycles, AF happened to make a come back the same day, HIO 3 times during what I assumed would be my fertile window if I have 28 days cycles and got a BFP!!! Still in shock over this one, I thought for sure there was no way it would happen this fast, especially with DD still nursing and having no idea how long my cycles are. I will be having a c-section and a hysterectomy this time since I already have more fibroids than they can count.

congrats!!! the journey was long for me too and its such a blessing to finally be pregnant
we were not trying, but I was temping and doing CM and lo and behold I ovulated 1 days earlier than normal and even though I thought it was a completely dry day FOUR DAYS before I actually ovulated that sucker got up there and set up shop until that egg came out. it is one determined baby, not that I'm surprised Oh and we found out 1 week before our wedding
There are a lot of great stories above. Congrats again to you all! I am surprised at how many people got a BFP on their first month. But it looks like these results are pretty aligned with information in the babycenter link above.
@amccul20 Thanks and Congs to you as well. Yes it was a very long journey!!! Hubby and I got married July 27 had my cycle a few days later and September we got a huge surprise!! At first we were told I had good poisoning... A week later I felt the same so went back to the ER with a positive home test and that's when we confirmed indeed yes we were expecting!!
About a year and a half of trying. We were "diagnosed" with unexplained infertility. Then after my HSG, I got pregnant! I heard that the HSG can make you more fertile for up to 3 months. When I went in for my first pregnant appointment, my Dr. and nurse both said, "See! It does make you fertile!"

It took us 13 months but I had long, irregular cycles since stopping BCPs so it was only 9 cycles. We'd just started seeing an RE and I was waiting for my period to start so that I could schedule the bloodwork and HSG. They suspected PCOS and while I'd still like to know if I have it or not, I'm so glad I didn't make it to the testing!
Edited to add that we did actually conceive once 10 months in, but it was a chemical pregnancy.
Hey, just lurking from third tri. It took DH and I 13 months to get pregnant. I did the whole charting and temping thing, which really helped me to get to know my body a little better since I have really irregular cycles, but despite all of that nothing happened until we stopped trying. at the beginning of this year (I got pregnant in march, so in January or February) I was just frustrated and disappointed that it wasn't happening. So we decided to stop trying for a while because my emotions were wearing thin. And sure enough ass soon as I stopped temping and stressing about it....we were pregnant the very next month! GL to you OP, I hope it doesn't take too long.
Husband and I got pregnant after 3 cycles of not "not" trying... we got married June 22, took the "what will happen, will happen" attitude, and September 20th had our positive... didnt think it would happen that fast, but definitely feeling blessed!
We got pregnant our second month trying. I didn't chart or use OPKs the first month..we just kind of hoped that we had the timing right. This last month I was temping and also used the Wondfo OPKs and it worked out for us. Good luck to you!!
