Not trying, so first month. We were charting to prevent plus using another method... but my period went wonky for a month and we mis-timed. I was not too worried because it took 18 months of trying to get our first DS who is now 4. But low and behold a week and a half went by and something felt 'off' so on a whim I took a test and got a BFP. We are thrilled though surprised, as DH is a cancer survivor and received radiation (which he is now free of and cleared to make babies for the past 6 years) which were told would make it harder for us to conceive naturally.

There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children.
We were going to wait until next year to start TTC but after a few glasses of wine in August we decided, why not now! So I stopped my BCP, had a regular period end of August and by the second week of October we got our BFP.
Funny thing is, I though I hadn't ovulated yet because I was using OPK's but never got a BFP until end of Sept, early October so i thought i was actually O'ing.... but once it was positive for several days in a row i decided why the heck not and took a HPT mid afternoon and it was the brightest line ever!
We knew we wanted to have a baby sometime in 2014. Our original plan was to try September/October 2013. My last annual was in April and May was my last month on the pill. However, in July 2013, we decided to not try until February/March 2014.
We used other contraceptions, but was never faithful with them. It took a 4 day late period for me to even consider that I could be.
I stopped taking birth control around March. My BF and I weren't really trying to get pregnant (but we weren't trying to not get pregnant either) and I had a BFP in early October.
Took us a little over 2 years to get pregnant. I had PCOS and didn't have periods for a year off of birth control. Did two failed fertility treatments in the meantime. Acupuncture and Metformin are what really helped regulate my periods and I ended up finally getting pregnant naturally.
