I got kicked out of a local mommies FB group yesterday. A girl that just had a baby at 30 weeks was being investigated by childrens services because during L&D she tested positive for drug use (marijuana I believe) She was asking people not to judge her, she got high on her wedding day a few weeks prior, and was looking for support. I told her I judged her for getting high while pregnant, was glad the childrens services was going to look into the situation for the childs sake but wished her the best. Apparently I wasn't 'supportive' enough. F that.
The grocery store I usually shop in hires special needs people. I really appreciate that they give these individuals the opportunity to work. They are generally really nice people, and very friendly. However I have started using self checkout because even when I sort all my groceries it doesn't fail that I end up with a disaster when I get home. Apples do not belong in the same bag as canned goods. ever.
I used one of the gift cards colby got for his birthday to buy new shoes for myself. It was a Kohls GC and all I would be able to buy for him there is clothes or toys, both of which he doesn't need any more of.
2nd true all-nighter this week for me, and the other two nights I went to bed after 1am.
I've knocked out a case of sugar free redbulls since Monday morning. I smoked two cigarettes yesterday, showered, then went to a fancy cancer research luncheon. Maybe I should go to a cardiac research fundraiser next.
I am out of pens and pillows to throw at my butthole slurping cat. I'm "casting" my iphone cord out to carpet sea to whack him, real it in, repeat until he stops.
Yesterday I noticed a hair on my shower wall that spelled out Dog in perfect microscopic cursive. I didn't pic and post to IG cause the corner shelf below it was freaky gross. I bobby pin rust stain everything in this house.
I used to draw pictures/write words with hair in the shower and leave them up for my sibs. Sometimes my sisters would add to mine. Had that been the age of the iphone, I'd have quite an artistic portfolio. Alas, you'll have to take my word for it. Oh, and my mom cried about it a lot, HA!!
also. I desperetely need to clean out my closet. I have clothes from college in there that I will never fit into again, and are so ridiculously out dated. but I still hold out hope.
I also thought this a few days ago so thanks for reminding me.
Sometimes I get the cutest picture of Charlotte in our kitchen or bathroom. Upon investigating before posting, I realize that something looks dirty (the trash can, the shower shelf, etc.) I do not post it because I don't want anyone to see the picture and only notice a dirty part. I wish Charlotte would stop doing cute things in these rooms before I clean up that day.
@holly_1007 I worked as a bagger for a year when I first started working. The grocery store taught me nothing. I learned everything about bagging from my customers. As much as it may aseem like common sense now, I don't really think that it is. And every shopper has different bagging preferences. i. e. Some people won't mind their apples and cans together.
I am going to the dentist this morning and did what I always do; floss only the week before on not the rest of the 6 months between appointments.
Me too. And I know that they probably know it too. My hygienist probably judges me and she is a former student's parent. Oh well. At least I'm not alone.
I am a super guilty working mom because we cannot send J to 3 y/o preschool. He's at an in-home daycare and we have no one to take him and pick him up. Next year my dad will be retired and he has offered to help. But currently I want to throat punch people when they ask where he goes to preschool.....which lately had been happening a LOT.
I love fall but hate Halloween. Correction: I sorta like the kids dressing up part. Mostly I am strongly opposed to adults dressing up especially for grown ups only Halloween parties. ETA-the worst part is that my DH LOOOVES it. He is Mr Creative-Costume-Guy.

I worked at a grocery store in high school. we were trained how to bag groceries regardless of what department you worked in. we were definitely not taught to put cans in with apples. Thats why I just do self checkout so I can do it how I want.
No spend October has turned into Mo' Spend October for me. A ridiculous amount at ulta the other day, Fleece pj stock up at Carters yesterday, and just this morning, new riding boots for me...that may or may not be the same color that I already have.
@holly_1007 Maybe this grocery didn't train on bagging? Just a thought.
probably not, but then why hire someone to do a job that they most likely don't know how to do and not train them? Like I said, I appreciate that this store hires people with special needs, I think its a great thing, and its not something that will make me shop somewhere else, but it does make me bag my own stuff.
I have to veto so many cute pictures of DD to post because of nipples. DH is always shirtless and his nipples always seem to make an appearance in pictures. Sometimes I still post them, but I try to not post his nipples all day every day.
This! My DH is always shirtless. I was trying to take a picture of DS last night and I had to move all the way to the other side of him so DH wasn't in the background. I think he's pretty sexxayy but I doubt all of you would feel the same ;;)

I always want to bag my own stuff too. Mostly because I feel like baggers use way too many bags and are maybe too careful with keeping things separate. Usually I can shove everything into 1 or 2 bags and get out.
Also, do the special needs workers have helpers? I used to work as a "job coach" for young adults with disabilities, and would follow 1-2 employees around during their shifts and help them perform their tasks. There are many times when I was relieved I was there, because sometimes they really do need assistance.

We had people over to the house last night which never happens. They are seriously probably the first people other than my parents to come into our house since we moved in March. I hate having people over because I'm so embarrassed by our house. It is small and ugly and we do not have pretty furniture. I was in tears on the way home from work yesterday worrying about it and then couldn't go to sleep after they left because I just knew they we judging us on their way home.
I forgot to wash my face this morning and I feel so gross. I take a shower at night and wash my face again in the morning. My makeup went on really smooth though.
I don't like a bunch of random picture frames all over the house. I keep a few (4) on my mantle and change out the pictures. I just feel like they are clutter. I also rearrange and redecorate rooms in the house often. That is why I didn't post many house pictures yesterday, all of the ones I had the rooms have been redecorated several times since the picture had been taken.
My FFFC: It often takes me way too long to put my own bra on. I'm talking a solid 2-3 minutes of standing there like an idiot, blindly fumbling with those teeny tiny hooks. Grrr.....why can't they be fastened with velcro? But, when I do get it on the first or second try, I feel so proud of myself.

@kdsmith43 - You would hate my house! I am the QUEEN of mismatched picture frames! I love having lots of pictures out because we never had them in my house when I was growing up. Not sure why...it's just not something my parents did. I will match them when they're grouped together as a decorative set, but I also have a bookcase with 3 solid shelves of just pictures in all kinds of frames. It's one of my favorite things in my house.

------------------------- honestly, I'm not sure. I feel bad because instead of just bagging their own stuff I see a lot of customers get frustrated or angry with them, it makes me sad. also, I just realized I don't even know if 'special needs' is the PC term. I hope it is, and apologize if its not.

Wait... How are you putting your bra on? I always turn it around backwards, hook, then turn it around again and put the straps on. Is this not normal behavior? If I tried to hook it behind my back my arms would fall off.

My sisters and I brought this up the other day. I put it on and hook it in the back. They hook it in the front and turn it around. I think we need a poll for this...
@Banich4eva - I always feel the same way about our house too. We're looking to move soon (thank God) because our house just SUCKS for entertaining/socializing, etc. There is just no room. But I'm sure they weren't judging you, or shouldn't have been. If they wanted to spend time with YOU, who care what the furniture looks like??
Also, I always worry that my house smells like dog. My dogs are pretty well groomed, but still.

I think DH has brainwashed me. When we first got together and I wanted to hang pictures of ourselves up he said no, that he couldn't stand that when he went to other people's homes. He said it seems so vain to have pictures of yourself all over the place. After a while, I convinced him to hang a couple up, but that's it; everything else is art. Now it's turned into my pet peeve when I go to someone's house and all of their frames are pictures of themselves as a couple.

I'm quite certain our house smells like baby poop but they have a kid so... its cool. I know I'm probably being really paranoid. It would not be out of character.
Any of the younger baggers at our grocery store have no clue how to pack. I hate self check out so I try and pick a line where I know it's a good bagger or no bagger. I also put my stuff on the belt in groups. Frozen, dairy, meat, produce, box, cans then more fragile (bread or chips.)

Of course you will, @kellersprag. Can I borrow like a fraction of your sex drive?
I always do this. Almost 27 years without a cavity and still going strong!
Then again I use these plastic toothpics with the little brush thingies all the time and I consider that flossing.
On Monday I got yelled at by the hygienist for not flossing my teeth because I didn't lie and tell him I did.
He was hot. I have flossed every day since.

My H is always shirtless too. Hannah has started pinching his nipples. It makes me LOL.
