My back yard in winter. Inside the house is okay, but needs updating, paint, etc. I love my yard, though. That forest in the back is no longer there. The huge trees are, but all the brushy looking stuff is gone and it is clear and much nicer now.
I remember this pic (or one like it) from IG! SO pretty!
Thanks! I did put some on IG! I absolutely loved the snow we got last winter. Hopefully it will be similar this year. I'm still getting used to these Michigan winters. Your house is gorgeous BTW!
This thread is making want to take a snowy picture of our house. I actually don't really have any pictures of just the house. I've posted this one before.
I love that we live on a cul-de-sac with a side entry garage and a big flat backyard.
@Hyaline that is super cute! We bought a 1790s flagstone farmhouse the end of May with 14 acres. We love the history, the stone, the patio, the barn...It is our dream house and hopefully we will be in it for many years. Unless we get a Nashville job.
Come to Nashville!
Your house is exactly what we would love to buy for a family vacation home some day. I have to live in a subdivision but would love to have an old historic farmhouse on 5+ acres for the boys to run around on long weekends and summer vacations.
I'll just show off my bathroom since that's he only completely finished room in the house. The living room and kitchen are both about 75% done and only need some finishing touches, I just haven't taken official after pictures!
The yellows all look different in the picture but IRL they're all around the same shade and I painted the walls gray!
This isn't necessarily the favorite part of my house, but it was the one room we didn't have furniture for when we moved in, so I got to do the whole thing....loved that!
@auroraloo, your house is great! I love what you're doing with the yard! Also, I hate that we don't have a fireplace. Boo. All homes in the midwest should come with fireplaces due to it being 8 degrees 1/2 the year.

Here's somewhat of a before/after picture of our kitchen. The before picture is from the MLS listing!
It's hard to tell because of the lighting but we stripped the counters, sanded them, painted, distressed and sealed them. We did a faux metal backsplash in bronze. Also, we got a new sink and faucet. I still need to make the roman shades for the windows.
We were able to have the FD do a controlled practice burn on the farmhouse. It was old and had not been taken care of. I love that we were able to save the large trees. They are my favorite!!
Thank you, me too! We replaced the mantle with a piece of reclaimed wood someone had in their yard - it's covered in old nails, and pretty awesome. The art on the wall is totally different now (it's a giant wooden fish I got on eBay and painted with ORB) and the mantle is decorated with wooden duck decoys. I really need some new pictures!
(yes, I am using this as an excuse to post another picture)
@Hyaline that is amazing!!
Sorry I keep commenting. I'm having major house envy here.
@Hyaline your house rocks and I too have major house envy from this post.
We live in a 2/2 condo. It's nice, but we outgrew it about 2 years ago, ugh. The kids share a room and we make it work. The things I love most are the view and the fact that it's in downtown Chicago near the heart of all the action. I put a pic of our view with a rainbow not too long ago on IG. I do also love living high up and having a doorman (also awesome for all my online shopping). I feel very safe and know that I'll be paranoid one day when we have a street level house somewhere.

Post a pic? I'm not on IG and I miss Chicago. I used to live in the Gold Coast.

I really don't like the ranch style, I am hoping we can build a house one day to our tastes, we have the property for it. I also hate how much updating the house needs, I can't wait to get new windows, kitchen and bathrooms.
@LuvSD thanks! I love the location and such - wish I could just add another bedroom on.
Actually, one thing I REALLY love about our master bath is that the tub is IN the shower. When DS was about 2.5-3 I would put him in the tub while I showered. Also, if the kids splash like crazy, doesn't matter because the shower is right there. This was taken from a unit in my building that is listed for sale, but this is how our bathroom looks pretty much:

Love that! I desperately want a deep soaking tub. I don't care what people say, the normal size tubs are not for grown adults.

wow, I've never seen anything like that before! We're redoing our master bath next...I'll need to show this to DH...

@Tonir319--- dannnnnnnnnnngggggg. I love your house!
@Auroraloo--- your living room looks so light and airy! And cozy!
I have no recent pics of our house, and compared to the others, it's probably a good thing. I did just get a bunch of new picture frames though, so I am AWing my new photo arrangements!!

This looks like a fairytale!
Thanks! The kids are always amazed to wake up to it. It was like, maybe 6 or 7am and unbelievably quiet outside.

I also love the playroom. We are actually planning to convert part of the garage to a playroom so I can get my dining and living room back.
