I am really curious. Who else out there is doing/not doing things their OB/ midwife said they shouldn't/ should be doing?
I have a horse and my midwife said it is highly "recommended" that I don't ride because I "could" fall off. I have been riding most of my life and I just want to ride as long as I possibly can- it makes me so happy! Also, I am really bad at taking my prenatal vitamins I forget fairly often. I'm a naughty pregnant girl. But everything has been going so perfectly so far and I haven't been sick at all so most of the time it doesn't even seem like I'm pregnant. I don't want to sit around all day twiddling my thumbs.
Anyone else want to share their dirty little pregnant secrets?
Re: Who else is breaking the rules?
BUT I'm not drinking water...like at all. Before I got pregnant that's all I drank but now I can't stand it. My dr got onto me last month about. I think I've drank 3 glasses since then? Ugh

At my first OB appt they recommended changing diapers with gloves. Yea, whatever. I've never once changed my son's diapers with gloves on and don't intend on doing so now.
Eta: I also don't take my prenatal vitamin everyday. I either forget or feel too shitty to put anything in my mouth. I probably take it 5 times a week. Whatever, I try.

I also still eat soft cheeses. OB said nearly all of it is pasteurized, just don't eat any from a farmer's market or crazy stuff from whole foods. Store bought and restaurants should be fine. So I eat it and love it!

I have ridden a couple times since finding out I was PG. If I were riding a more experienced horse, I would have no problems continuing to ride. I have also had lunchmeat multiple times.
I'm pretty careful to follow the rules. If anything went wrong, developmentally or any kind of birth defect I would blame myself and dwell on what I shouldn't have done or could have avoided. After my previous losses, I know what it is like to wonder if there was anything I could have done to change things, and I just don't want to live with that.
Not all the rules are hooey and I just figure, it's only a few months.
But that being said, I make mistakes and sometimes don't have other options. Like when the only choice is a deli sandwich or nothing.
Anywho...

I've been pretty good but MAN I was just thinking about this same topic today! Prior to lunch I've only eaten deli meat once, and it was a that-or-nothing situation. a sandwich just sounded sooo good today though...and I had a turkey roller for lunch. It was delicious.
I've also never cut out hotdogs, summer sausage, or any of those things, not that I eat them very frequently anyway. I have been bad about diet, although it is *slightly* improving. It just seems like baby only wants junk food....spaghettio's, canned ravioli, pizza, mcdonalds....stuff that pre-preg I would only have maybe once a week. oh well...there must be something in those foods that my body needs!
