Everyone is different. I have a really hard time reading weight posts, like pp said it makes me paranoid about whether I'm gaining the right way. I lost some weight in the first tri for whatever reason, so I have a net gain of 4 lbs at 19 weeks. I stayed pretty much the same for weeks, now I gained 2.5 lbs this week, so I guess I'm doing a bit of catching up.
@farmboyswife I'm right there with you.....ugh, still sick daily have they diagnosed you with hg? I was same with DS sick till day I had him... Just no fun..really hope this passes for u
I'm 17 weeks and have a higher BMI (30) and have gained 2 pounds - I'm more or less on track, given my BMI...need to keep a close eye on it because my doctor only wants me to gain between 15-18 pounds total!
I feel like my weight is all over the place. I was up 10lbs from my pp weight at 13 weeks and now at 16.5 weeks I am up 7lbs from my pp weight. I am just assuming a lot of it depends on my water weight and bloat.
I am slightly underweight and at 18 weeks today I have gained 1 pound. I asked my dr about my weight gain at my 16 week appt and he said he often doesn't even look at it because as long as everything is healthy and measuring where it should, how much the mother gains isn't really that important. As long as i am eating well and everything is healthy he is fine with the 20 lbs I gained with my first. He isn't pushing a 35-40 lb gain like my first dr did.
I am up 14lbs. I didn't gain any in the first trimester and barely anything in my second trimester with my first pregnancy and then ended up gaining 40lbs in the third tri. I blame my above average weight gain this time around on no longer breastfeeding. I had to stop after I found out I was pregnant because my supply dropped.
I started at 124 lb and as of 2 wks ago (14 wks), I was still down 3 lbs. I might be close to pp weight at 18 wks. With ds I was down 4 lbs still at 16 wks and gained very slowly, but made 25 lbs by 42 wks. :-) So I'm not too concerned.

It really depends on the person and your pregnancy. I'm down 10 lbs but that's cuz I spent the last month in Europe walking and doing stairs non stop. I'm also overweight to start

I hadn't gained anything the last time I saw my OB at 16 weeks. I asked him whether I should be worried and he said that it's normal for some women to starting gaining weight in the middle of the second trimester. That he prefers a slow and steady weight gain to quick and large amount of weight gain. He assured me that I shouldn't worry because the weight gain will come soon enough. I'm continuing to eat as healthy as possible without driving myself insane.
Re: How much weight gain by 18 weeks?
"I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always.
As long as I'm living,
my baby you'll be."
I gained 40lbs+ with DD and my OB was never concerned. DD was 8.9 and I was below my pp weight by 6 months.
